What is this?

Originally, this page served as a record of the pages previously tagged doctor-bright on the SCP Wiki. Given the ongoing discussion around expanding Ring 3, I've decided to expand it to cover both all pages previously tagged doctor-bright and all pages mentioning character!Bright in any capacity. For ease, I am going to set this up as close to Ring 2 as possible.

What can I do right now?

Currently, we are in the "Plan" step. Therefore, you should find pages in the "Page List" section marked as "NOT STARTED" and identify if character!Bright, character!Shaw or anything referencing or related to either character is the page. If you find anything you believe fits this criteria (or you believe warrants further examination), include it in the below, and create a plan for what to edit on the page, and add that to the "Plans" section for that page. You do not need permission to edit this document; just jump in and make the change. Any page deemed to not require edits can be set to "ACTIONED" (see "How will we track progress?"); those that require edits in pages we do not have custodianship over should be set to "IN PROGRESS" or "BLOCKED", since we cannot complete them yet.

How do I decide what goes in each page's plan?

Currently this is still to be decided. We're not 100% clear on what we will be changing in Ring 3, and how extensive those changes will be. Right now focus on listing out everything you can, how important it is to the work (e.g. one sentence referencing character!Bright likely isn't all that important to the work. Character!Bright being the main character is) and how if would be possible to remove it.

There is obviously still some uncertainty and edge cases here; our goal is to identify and document these edge cases before we commit to making page edits.

Guidelines for making edits

Edits cannot be made at this time. Do not make any edits to pages in any capacity. The only exception to this is if we have the authors permission.

False positives, duplicate pages, etc

There is a strong chance that you might encounter pages that don't have any content related to character!Bright or character!Shaw. This is because the method used to gather together these pages isn't perfect, and so false positives are likely. In these cases just make a note that no reference is on the page. Please don't delete it from the list. Also, please don't delete pages that might appear multiple time in the list (e.g. the regular page and then the fragment), deleted pages or pages you feel don't belong on the list, etc. Again, make a note and move onto the next item.

How will we track progress?

All pages listed in the "Page List" section of this document (see below) must have one of the following statuses. Take care to spell these properly so that other contributors can search for unfinished work items using Ctrl-F:
Status Text Meaning Usage Notes
NOT STARTED We have not started working on this item yet. N/A
IN PROGRESS We are still deciding what actions to take on this page, or have not finished implementing any actions. This step can be skipped if the page doesn't contain anything related to character!Bright or character!Shaw.
BLOCKED We have examined this page and determined that further decision-making is necessary before action can be taken. For instance, we might need to first contact the custodian or original author of the page; or we might need to discuss with more staffers to make a better-informed decision. Note that this stage is optional and can be skipped for most pages.
ACTIONED We have taken all necessary action on this page, but these actions have not yet been independently peer-reviewed by another staff member. What this will mean will depend on the work. Any changes need to be fully described so they can be easily checked by other staffers. N/A
RESOLVED Action has been both taken on this page and independently peer-reviewed by another staffer. N/A

How do we know we're done?

This process will be done once all 154 pages are marked as RESOLVED.

To verify this, use Ctrl-F in the Page Source of this page and check for instances of the string **Status: RESOLVED**. If it shows up 154 times, then we know we're done.
