This page serves as a hub for the proposals that are being drafted for the ongoing Bright Works issue. This page will include a template, steps, details and links to each of the proposals, as well as their current status.

Proposal Drafts

For each proposal, a separate working page has been created. The proposal is drafted there, and the progress is monitored here.

A proposal can be in the following status(es):

A proposal will move through the following stages as work on it continues.

• Not Started
  • No work has been done on the proposal yet.
• Drafting
  • The proposal is currently being drafted, and anybody is welcome to contribute.
• Initial Review
  • The proposal is being reviewed by other members of the working group, to ensure that all details are defined properly, and that any issues are seen before further review.
• Consulted Review
  • For any proposal that involves a specific team, their Captain should review the proposal to ensure that any involvement is acceptable, feasible, and will not cause any issues. This is to ensure buy-in from any involved teams who were not directly part of the drafting process, and has the Captains formally 'sign-off' on said proposals.
• Ready for Staff Discussion
  • The proposal has had all relevant teams review in advance, and has gone through any final polish and/or revisions by the working group. This proposal is considered ready for the full staff discussion, or for the sake of Stage 5.A
• Post-Discussion Refinement
  • Following the internal staff discussion, assuming a proposal is not redrafted from scratch, this indicates that a proposal is being refined following staff feedback.
• Done
  • This is the final state, where the proposal draft has gone through internal staff discussions, refinement, and is ready for the voting stage.

There are also some additional states, outside the expected flow for proposal work:

• Withdrawn
  • This indicates that a proposal has been withdrawn from consideration and will no longer be updated. It is retained for records purposes, as well as referencing by other proposals for instances where the withdrawn proposal has insight or suggestions useful in other proposals.

The following template should be used for each proposal, so that we ensure that all relevant details are captured, and the different proposals are consistent.

Each paragraph should have a distinct core 'reason', and provide rationale, evidence or otherwise highlight why this solution provides the best path forward. This **should not** talk about why it is better than other proposals by addressing the shortcomings of different proposals, however, it can talk about what it addresses that others do not.//
