Introduction
The use of this application ("the bot" or "Mnemosyne") in the SCP Foundation Official Discord guild ("the server" or "The SCP Discord") requires the collection of some specific user data ("Data"). The Data collected includes, but is not limited to, Discord user ID values, account username and/or server nickname, and account age. Joining The SCP Discord (and by extension, using Mnemosyne) is considered agreement to the terms of this Policy.
This Policy is subject to change at any time; notable changes to the content of this Policy will be announced in The SCP Discord's #announcements channel.
Data Access
Certain Data provided to the bot can be accessed by individuals with the "Junior Moderators", "Moderators", or "Server Admins" roles (collectively referred to as "the moderators" or "SCP Discord Staff"). Data is not sold, provided to, or shared with any third party, except where required by law or a Terms of Service agreement.
Verification Command
Under typical circumstances, users are required to use the /verify slash command to join The SCP Discord. This command requires the insertion of the user's age. The provided age is not stored in Mnemosyne's internal database (see below, "Data Storage"). The inputted age is not revealed to the moderators except under the following circumstances:
- The user lists their age as 69 (which is commonly associated with sexual acts).
- The user lists their age as 100+ years old (which represents approximately 0.00074% of the world's population).
If a user's inputted age is less than the server's minimum age (presently 16 years of age), Mnemosyne will automatically ban the user. Mnemosyne will record the user being under the age minimum in its database and in its Discord ban reason, but will not store internally nor output the age to any parties, including SCP Discord Staff and bot developers/maintainers.
The /verify slash command also records a user's Discord ID, username, nickname, and account age to check if a user should be manually reviewed by moderators upon entry; however, this Data is not stored in the bot's database, but is showed to the moderators should a check fail.
Voting Command
In The SCP Discord, votes will occasionally be held at discretion of the SCP Discord Staff. These votes allow for user input via use of the /vote slash command. For this command to function, the bot stores a user's Discord ID, whether they are a member of the SCP Discord Staff, and what the vote(s) they cast are. This information is only available to the bot developers/maintainers.
Linking Commands
Certain commands may require a user to link their Wikidot account to their Discord account via Mnemosyne. This process is completed by a user creating a specified Wikidot page, which gives the bot the ability to determine the page's creator (and thus verify the Discord account is associated with the Wikidot account). By creating the page or otherwise completing the linking process, users give permission for Mnemosyne to read and/or store public information relating to their Wikidot account (e.g. Username, User ID, Wiki membership, etc.), as well as allowing SCP Discord Staff and certain members of the SCP Wiki's Staff to access this information.
Members of the SCP Wiki's Staff (a superset of SCP Discord Staff) can be found here.
Storage of Data
Data is stored in an SQLite3 database. The database is secured to prevent external access, however no guarantee is provided and Mnemosyne's owners assume no liability for the unintentional or malicious breach of Data. In the event of unauthorized Data access, users will be notified via the SCP Discord's #announcements channel.
Information not necessary for the bot/the server's functioning is not stored in its database. All information stored is in compliance with Discord's Developer Policy.
User Rights
At any time, you have the right to request to view the Data pertaining to your Discord account. You may submit a request through The SCP Discord. You have the right to request the removal of relevant Data to a reasonable extent.
Underage Users
The use of the bot is not permitted for minors under the age of 13, or under the age of digital consent for their country. This is in compliance with the Discord Terms of Service. No information will be knowingly stored from an underage user. If it is found out that a user is underage we will take all necessary action to delete the stored Data.
Further Information
If you have any questions or are concerned about what data might be being stored from your account, contact Yossipossi (Yossi#1463, u/yossipossi, @yossipossi). For more information check the Discord Terms Of Service.
