Okay, so the Reviewers' Spotlight is up: http://www.scp-wiki.net/reviewers-spotlight-archive
I've currently got enough names to carry us through the entire month. I'm guessing it won't be hard to acquire more. I would like to establish a Forum Crit Team board for this spotlight, if just so I can confirm the names of the next month's spotlighted reviewers with a couple people each month to make sure deserving people are picked. I feel like currently it would make sense to limit featuring of staff members (since that's effectively our duties) somehow? That's open for discussion.
I've also got the "So you want to be a [type] reviewer?" threads up:
- http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-9804215/so-you-want-to-be-a-draft-reviewer
I admit that I'm not sure if there will be a lot of interest in joining Butterfly Squad, but if there is, I would welcome people to help screen potential new members. I still intend for the Forum Crit Team to be invitation-only, but given that so many of us have gotten a start by reaching out (and I always appreciate initiative), I see no reason to not let newer people reach out.
Also, the "Readers" Introduction thread has been changed to "Readers & Reviewers": http://www.scp-wiki.net/forum/t-9804495/january-2019-intros-readers-reviewers I will be using this template and title from now on.
Also, as a general note… I got a very nice PM from a site author:
Hi Zyn. I hope you don’t mind me messaging you. I just wanted to commend your junior staff member Reverend Fox; he’s helped me out by critting two of my drafts via PM at my request (I have some anxiety and confidence issues when it comes to my writing, so for me this was super helpful). I’ll post both to the main list this week.
His crit’s been consistently high-quality; thorough, insightful and encouraging, and I appreciate the extent to which he engages with the drafts he’s reviewing.
Also, as someone who cares a lot about the wiki and its community, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you and your team for all that you do for the site. It continues to amaze me how smoothly and effectively the crit process is handled, especially given the voluntary nature of the work and the volume of crit requests.
Just wanted to share that with you all. Happy 2019, Butterfly Squad! o7
