As a heads-up — I'm not sure a better place to post this, but it should be on O5, at least somewhere. We have some unspoken deletion guidelines (hence not on O5, oops), which we've developed to get around Wikidot's shitty architecture.

Deletion rules of thumb:

• Before deleting any post by an abusive user, please flag them as abusive — from the userinfo popup on the wiki post itself, not from their main profile page! Flagging a user as abusive from their profile page, as far as I can tell, makes the flag go off into the ether, never to be seen again. Flagging the user as abusive from a wiki page will actually send the admins of that wiki the abuse flag.
  • This is especially important because without the abuse flag it can take a very, very long time for an admin to search out their name from the totally unsorted 100+ page list of members from which users can sometimes disappear entirely. (In other words, there's a tiny chance you can make it absolutely impossible for us to ban them until they post again, since you have to remove them as a member to ban them, and you can't do that from the 'ban' section. Just ask Cryo what we're talking about here.)
• Don't delete every post made by some asshole. If you want to delete their posts (which is sometimes necessary, especially for spammers in threads you can't soft-delete) snip the first offending post (potentially with a message saying that future posts will be deleted) and delete the others.
• Only "soft" delete threads. This makes it harder to accidentally the entire forum if Wikidot fucks up or if you misclick.

I can't claim I fully understand how Wikidot's fucked-up architecture (and the possible glitches thereof) work, but this is based on my/our current understanding. We'll update it (possibly in an official document???) if there's more information I've missed or that admins don't know overall.
