It's been noticed that user PokemonKing (now known as Live2Die, NOW known as Heartful) has been acting unnecessarily authoritative on the site, particularly on a low-rated article, SCP-2041. Some comments posted include:

I'm pretty sure you're required to use the sandbox…

And when called out by Anaxagoras

I meant required as " if you don't do it you will probably fail" not z'if you don't do it you will be punished".

When this came up in staffchat, I responded,

PokemonKing, you should've said this from the start.

Since you're still new to the site yourself, please don't give authoritative advice unless you can cite a guide that supports what you're saying (and do so when you give the feedback), or until you've written a successful page on the mainsite yourself.

The site has had issues with newer members giving unhelpful information to other new members before; that doesn't help anyone.

Certainly, this is a very flawed entry, but I don't see any lolFoundation in the note. It's nothing like "Personnel are requested to stop using SCP-2041 to charge their electronic devices".

I see that as "You can do your own reaserch with it, which means just study it with approval, and nothing bad would happen." Even if that's not lolFoundation, I still don't think that's right.

I agree that probably shouldn't be there, but it's not really lolFoundationy per se. Unprofessional, perhaps, but not in the attempted humorous way of lolFoundation.

Now that I think about it, I agree that it isn't lolFoundation, although it feels like it to me because of the general absurdness.

I think this is just a case of newbie over-enthusiasm, but keep an eye on this one. We don't need people getting frustrated by advice like this.

I'm ProcyonLotor, Wiki Staff on the Site Criticism Team. It's come to Staff Attention that many of your recent comments on SCP-2041 were over-authoritative and often ambiguously phrased to the point of incorrectness. While your intent was certainly positive, the sheer scale and often the tone of these comments might have come off as unwelcoming to the author. It is true that we do not expect people to use kid gloves in their critique, but you should avoid making so many posts that it begins to look like a dogpile. In addition, please leave statements about site rules to the staff- it's what we're here for, after all :3.

More backseat modding/unauthorized over-authority today, when someone posted three longer posts in succession (which I actually encourage if the material in each post is regarding sufficiently topics):

I have to point this out: each of the things you made with the title was a post, not a subthread.
It goes like this: There is the forum, which contains all post, threads, etc., subforums, which contain all of the threads and posts for that specific place and is used for a general topic, a thread, which is about a specific topic, and a post, a specific user's point/whatever the hell you use a post for. Understanding this, what you made were posts that just had titles, not subthreads, since there are no such things as subthreads.

Replying to a post does not mean it makes a subthread, it just makes a series of posts.
Anyways, this is probably spammy, so I would ask you to pm me if you want to discuss it further.

Given that Live2Die was giving the wrong feedback and he has a history of doing so, I'm pretty leery of them asking that people PM them to discuss site policy. I'm also disappointed that instead of listening to the newbie's queries and bringing in a staff member to sort the issue out, they simply dismissed the new member's thoughts as wrong. That reflects pretty badly on the community and doesn't help anyone.

I staffposted, with an official warning. 24 hour on next infraction.

Chat but not chat…. I have banned Live2die from 17, for repeated behaviour violations, when he's been told not to. Kid is trying, but, fer now, I want him to stay out of 17, especially when we're not around.

Continuous jumping in on things that should be handled by senior staff… and on stuff senior staff is already handling.

For now, I'm thinking perma, until they prove themselves to have gotten better.
