Granted, if the guy was worried about getting laid off, he's likely not in the best emotional state to be discussing a topic like the replaceability (is that a word?) of those in his career. I'm going to talk with him a bit longer, but I don't think cooling off should be an issue.

That said, I was kind of surprised how quickly it jumped to a ban. However, I don't have full logs or context, so keep that in mind.

The back and forth between him and the people trying to get him to stop, and the chat being absorbed by it, so I was just like "okay, time to stop, you can get back in real soon, just stahp". I would have liked to have just de-railed it by acting silly as I usually do for such situations, but I had tried that and it didn't work so I just went to the next option.
