I understand getting a little ticked that people like DARPA and the United States are aware of the Foundation. But the Foundation could never get anything done if it didn't have the support of these groups that just didn't know how to deal with this kind of thing. Ultimately it is up to the reader what is or isn't true about the Foundation.
Some believe it is independent, others that it is a massively funded operation. I believe D-Class personnel are simply average criminals as opposed to an unrealistically large flow of death row convicts. I totally agree with most of your arguments but I don't think a conflicting opinion about what the Foundation presence entails is a valid argument.

Typo of Gaiman's name aside, this doesn't sit well with me. I modposted, but keep an eye on this guy. I respect anyone who can put the time and effort into making a detailed line-by-line, and this response just strikes me as the author taking it too personally.
Also, it's a little hypocritical. He mentions the perspective being up to the reader, but the person giving critique is a reader, so…
