The current Deletions Guide says the following about summary deletions:
Malicious content, such as links to viruses, sexually explicit material, spam, advertising, and illegal content are all grounds for summary deletion. If a member of Staff believes a page to fall into one of these categories, they will bring it up for consideration in the admin chat channel where, after review, if three members agree, the page may be summarily deleted. Copies may be retained for record-keeping purposes. Summary deletion may also be enacted if members attempt to "game" site procedure, such as re-posting an un-rewritten article in an attempt to get around downvotes.
I'm just wondering if we can add some text to this in regards to clearly unfinished works. Most authors who coldpost things without descriptions or with text like "[fill this part in]" or the like are prone to getting dogpiled and having the guides thrown at them…
Anyway. I personally believe that there should be a sentence regarding clearly unfinished works being subject to summary deletion, since not only would it enforce the rule that only finished works should be posted to the mainsite, but it would also prevent new authors from having to scramble against time and downvotes.
For the record, I'm pretty sure there's significant precedence for summarily deleting clearly incomplete works. (If I'm totally wrong, mea culpa.) I usually send out a PM with the most recent source text to the author, with a notification about the deletion.
That's all for now I am going to eat barbecued chicken now.
