Hello!

I am a film student seeking permission to create an SCP Foundation web series. I am associated with a (student run) studio, and I am looking to use SCP-963 and your character Dr. Bright. I am aware one of the biggest concerns is copyright. I am familiar with the CC license and neither myself nor the studio I am affiliated with have any problems with it. If you give permission you can put in how you would like me to cite SCP- 963 and your character (such as with your real name, username, etc.) The series itself, should everything go well, will be published publicly on websites such as Youtube.

As you are an administrator, I'd like to add I am PMing user Sorts with a general message containing a list of all the SCP's and characters I am hoping to use in this project, as I wanted to privately contact all the authors of the characters and SCP's first and I understand that Sorts is the person who usually contacts everyone about copyrights.

I just finished PMing a list of SCP Foundation authors and an administrator on gaining permission to make a web series (I know, you guys get this a lot.) I just want to make sure it all got through, I know not everyone has remained active on the Wikipedia website and I am far more proficient on Reddit than I am on Wikidot. This is the message I have sent out:

Hello! I am a film student seeking permission to create an SCP Foundation web series. I am aware not every author has remained active on the SCP Foundation Wikipedia, so I am sending a message to the administrators in hopes of getting permission in case some authors do not respond to or receive my message. I am looking to get permission to use or mention the following SCP’s: SCP-087,
SCP-342, SCP-504, SCP-1440, SCP-1863, SCP-1111, SCP-354, SCP-1074, SCP-1999, SCP—J-, SCP-178, SCP-963, and SCP-111-J. As well as the following characters: Dr. Bright, Dr. Clef. I am aware one of the biggest concerns is copyright. I am familiar with the CC license and neither myself nor the studio I am affiliated with have any problems with it. Everything that relates to the project will be properly cited and attributed, including materials used by the marketing team. That is understandable. The project is tentatively being called 'SCP Foundation FIles." I say tentatively because I am not officially doing anything that has to do with the Foundation until I have all the permissions in order. The project will consist of ten episodes, each lasting ten minutes in length. Episodes will range from a humorous tone to a more serious one. Most characters will change every episode, with a few reoccurring characters. These will be seen as a nod to the fans and those who have written SCP's or people who generally are more involved with them, as I do not want to completely make up all new doctors and agents when there are plenty that fans already love and are familiar with. The idea for it has been tossed around for a while now, and it has greatly interested several members of the studio (to the point were I have already been given a theme song that was created for it.) We will have a marketing team associated with it, who will be running a crowd-sourcing campaign while hopefully getting us sponsors. The studio I am associated with has successfully created a series like this previously, so we are not "going in blind" so to speak. We have plenty of film equipment at our disposal, so funds will be going towards everything else (props, location, etc.)

The project once completed, will be available on websites such as Youtube. Here is the full list of SCP's I am hoping to use, though at this time I have only gained permission for one of them:

At this point, the project has been pitched and cleared to the studio heads.
