Putting this in Disciplinary since, if memory serves, the user in question has been toeing the line of acceptable behavior for awhile. (They've posted stuff like "Tis touched me in places that would be illegal" in WL, and also apparently tried to get a wattpad draft critiqued while breaking several forum guidelines.)

I recently received complaints regarding a comment posted by SEC_the acronym in a tale discussion thread:

I always liked the polar express. Infact, I remember when I was 8 years old, I wanted some of the dolls in the confiscated toys cart to just grow reeeeally sharp teeth and just chomp on the little girl's shoulder.

Then as she spun around and ripped it off a sport of blood erupted and got all over the boy. Afterward, the girls' skin would turn pale and veiny and becomes a Zombie trying to dig her new sharpened incisors into his neck. But he grabs the nearest Toy train and bludgeons her, now the girl is walking at him with her brain exposed so he would then grab a Scarf off a large frosty the snowman plushie.

He would run down the aisle of the dark cart swatting away puppets around him as the girl ran at him snapping the threads from her sheer display of undead speed.

Following the charge the boy, having made it to the end of the caboose and opened the back door, had tied and end of the scarf to an exposed rafter above. Her neck would be caught by the dangling loop as she darted and he dived out of the way. rushing out the door the force of the loop closing and snapping her neck as she ran and kicked the loose air below her feet.

Then she would twitch little by little until she was still. Looking blankly down at the passing tracks under her silk slippers.

He would wipe the blood off his face with his wrist and turn around, unphased with a look of cool calculation, walk away from the situation.

Either than that yeah this was great: +1

Given the user's previous behavior, this seems like a misguided attempt to come off as a cool horror writer. At any rate, it instead comes off as rather tasteless and immature, especially given that the tale in question is meant to be a feelgood piece and the comment has pretty much no relationship to that content beyond the mention of the Polar Express movie.

The author has expressed to me:

I don't really know if the mods are capable of taking action on this, but honestly? I'm a little creeped out about and I don't really want this on my page meant for something like, happy I guess? Anyway, if it could be taken down somehow that would be good.

I have sent the user in question a notice about the complaints, and asked them to edit their comment accordingly (I mean… at least collapse that stuff, right?) If they don't respond promptly, we might as well blank the post since it's more self-indulgent "look at me" spam than a genuine response to someone's work. At any rate, I don't think the post merits deletion, but it's definitely not something that's okay to just throw in someone's tale discussion thread.

The Floura levels, whatever the fuck, or method of measuring darkness was a pretty creative choice, but a little more explanation on what each of those mean, would help clarify their significance greatly. Otherwise it's just a bunch of scientific jargon with minimal meaning, that leads to an illusion of importance. The images make me question the sanity of some of the readers who say it's "Scary"cause when I entered the article and was met with a large ass black image, that took four or five finger swipes to scroll down over, I thought my computer or internet was having trouble downloading the image, or glitching, Which I didn't think was an image. But holy fuck, it was. Also, Am I supposed to be scared of a bunch of black pictures? One of a dark washing room with nothing in it? Nothing going on? Just a bunch of shit that hurts my eyes for me to see and zoom in to make out anything vaguely? The damn hell? Also, the way things were described in the policeman or the 'log of darkness' as I am calling it, were nice, I guess? But all he does is walk through, no tension have him open the fridge , turn, and see Grimace from Mcdonald's there or something, or Diddy. I'm not trolling I just want some suspense, tension, like have him open the drawers and find a dildo with ancient ruins or relic from the cave inside, where the father could have been a member of the excavation and exploration team. The payoff was also confusing. What do you mean, a million figures rose from the city? Where were they hiding? In the city's shadows like the Quincy did in the Soul Society of the Bleach anime? Where was this implied? It just came out on nowhere. Any ways this did not do much for me sorry, bud. Try better next time—Niether upvoting or down voting.

Okay, sorry for my tone; I naturally come off as aggressive because I’m confused—it’s a life experience thing. I prefer to stay unapologetically myself, please don’t let it take away from my points. Or feel free to reply or say that my manner of speaking is too off-putting or too flippant for a serious discussion about the story’s themes. I don’t care! I just use sarcasm to communicate, but I’m genuinely trying to understand here.

All I read from this and the main character’s plight was, ‘I’m morally against voting, but I’m not able to vote.’ They’re literally immigrants. I’m sorry, but in this story, they seem concerned about something that, while it affects them through others, isn’t directly in their control.

What do you mean by ‘I have to face God for this when I die’? Won’t your God forgive you, or is the character part of some cult on an Oklahoma farm run by a manipulative Jim jones wacko with 15 emotionally and psychologically stunted wives? What the actual fuck? Also, why is there so much religious guilt tripping and blackmail? It just seems like the 'facing God' line is more of a narrative device to underscore emotional stakes rather than actual religious commentary, but maybe I’m wrong—can someone clarify?

And how is voting preference the one question the character is dreading? They’re implied to not even be able to vote—or are they? I’m confused! Yes, I get that in real life we often have to choose between deeply flawed options: the narcissist capitalizing on near-death situations, or someone with questionable prosecutions and inconsistent positions. But at the end of the day, why guilt yourself? It’s a lose-lose, out of anyone’s control. Whether you vote or not, people will hate you, so why torture yourself? I mean the poor writer had to post this anonymously, how fucked up is that? Would it be better to find out your vote was dropped from the ballot box and thrown in the garbage?

I get that the story is trying to highlight a moral dilemma, but why make the character’s existential crisis hinge on voting when they may not even be able to vote? For me, it doesn’t quite land. Am I missing something? In the spirit of the story’s exploration of individual responsibility within flawed systems, it’s a no vote from me.

Okay, the author page, is not at all humble, and the amount of subtle hubris, is uh unique? Which is good in it's own way, mediocrity sucks just as much as conformity. and no that's not an insult. Why the fuck would I compliment a person and insult them in the next sentence. Makes no sense. But One thing I can say, damn man I really admire your fucking drive. The organization and collaborative successes indicate strong organizational skills, you have a nice visionary approach that can inspire others from what I see in the comments. So hubris aside I think it's well-earned, Good job man.

Oh and to clarify, bu well earned, I should have said the hubris is well-founded. somethings like ideas on how to properly word things just come after things are said, hope this extra reply doesn't come off as, trying to hard to justify things.

This reminds me of a book, I read in my elementary school library called 'Falling up', the idea of which stayed in my brain since then. I am so happy someone beat me into making something out of it, cause I don't think there's much I would do differently than this. I love that you thought of many different scenarios and circumstances in which an underground society could evolve, and implemented it in a timeline, with some realism, even a new generation. It was really like reading a real alternate universe entry timeline of the worlds future recovery after an apocalyptic event. The UFO year made me laugh though. So out of left field. XD Perfect. Also, kinda funny cause how do you crash upwards? Could it be that technology can reverse the Capsize, perhaps it is the key to fixing it. Which I loved that the Foundation and settlements were working on a solution. so many articles have them causing an accident they either don't fix, or do in a way that predictably adds tragedy as the 'climax' or shoe horns in tragedy in a passage where it doesn't need to be. I'm just happy in this one they actually try and reverse it and humanity has made some semblance of peace with their new normal. My only gripe is, how the hell did the guy in the beginning, who didn't survive his car crash end up ontop his car? Did he fly out the windshield do a backflip and land face down? Or was he inside, just stuck on the roof of the inside of his car? Why weren't the cars floating like in a bolly wood film? I dunno. Imagining that makes me lol so hard. But the ending made me feel something. Anywhere he's a + 1. Which I will now exit the comments to go add.

Of note, all of these comments were posted today. Their last forum activity was on 26 Mar 2023.

Here’s the revised critique with the emphasis on not being afraid to ruffle feathers and the importance of making a difference with honor(I edited my original, in my Google Docs because I can get really direct sometimes, like I am really protective of my identity, especially after having built it up from uh, some traumatic stuff.) :

Alright, here’s the deal—Marie has massive potential. But right now? She feels more like a walking PSA than a fully fleshed-out character. And that’s a damn shame, because I want her to shine. A badass trans skeleton teaming up with Beethoven? That’s the kind of chaotic brilliance the world *needs.* But heavy-handed explanations are dragging it down, making it read like an angry blog post instead of a story.

Marie is more than her gender. Or at least, she should be. You've hinted at her sharp wit and sarcasm, which is great. But right now, her being trans is her *entire story,* and that’s limiting. What else makes her tick? Is she secretly obsessed with vintage horror flicks? Does she have a quirky habit of collecting weird trinkets from the underworld? Give her depth. Make her feel like a person—not just a message. Flesh her out—pun *absolutely* intended.

Now, let’s talk about the TERFs. The ‘Terf Wars’ broadcast? It’s too on-the-nose. You’re just preaching to the choir. And let’s be real, sitting on the fence and saying nothing gets you *nowhere.* But hammering people over the head with a lecture doesn’t make a difference either. You want this story to hit? Show us why TERFs are the worst through *action.* The graveyard scene where Marie and Beethoven disrupt their necromancy circus? That’s where the magic is. It’s active, it’s chaotic, it’s alive. Keep that energy. Let their ideology collapse in the story itself—no sermons needed.

Beethoven? Total keeper. He’s weird and hilarious, exactly the kind of chaotic sidekick this story needs. But don’t let him just be the exposition guy. Give him his own quirks—maybe he’s obsessed with modern grave-digging tools or holds an intense grudge against cheap plastic Halloween decorations. Make him a lovable wildcard, not a narrative crutch.

Bottom line: I want Marie to win. I *need* her to win. But right now, she’s too boxed in by her gender and backstory. Give her passions, flaws, and weird hobbies, and let her mess up in ways that make her *human.* And for the love of all things chaotic, ditch the lecture tone and let the action speak for itself.

“Oh, you’ll get hate for that.” Yeah? So what? Playing it safe gets you nothing. It makes no difference, leaves no mark, and gives you no honor. Take a stand. Make Marie unforgettable. You’ve got the bones of something truly great—now build the rest of the skeleton. I believe in pushing for the best version of the story. I’ll leave it to you to decide what matters more: the message or the delivery.
