Smapti found this today. The Site Rules of the CII wiki are pretty much directly copied from the SCP wiki's Site Rules. From what I can see, the table of contents is edited slightly, some words are in all caps, the numbering was taken out, but the text is all the same.
No attribution or link back, user Agent Seadrus appears to be the creator of the page (he's also an admin on the CII wiki).

It appears the user at least tried to use the CC properly on the main page, so I'd assume giving them a PM to our guide and suggestions on linking back should be fine, if they haven't already done all they need to do.

Six months later, not much content to show for it. Eleven articles by about as many members. ProcyonLotor found some threads in their forum that were either disingenuous or just uninformed.

Since you didn't reach out to us and ask why things went the way they did with the GOC wiki, I'll fill you in. Clef built, wrote for, and maintained the GOC Wiki along with a number of Foundation writers. The decision was made by him to roll the wiki back into the main SCP site due to visibility and community fragmentation. There was no forced abolition or anything of the sort; it was done entirely at the discretion of the GOC Wiki admin. Now, let's level on something. It's possible, probable even, that someone said the CI Wiki would go up in flames. Could have even been someone on the staff. The reason it was said is because that's the fate that has met every offshoot wiki we've ever seen in the last five or six years except the Wanderer's Library (which is like the GOC wiki in that it's headed by SCP Foundation staff). There are a couple of consistent reasons:
- Not enough quality writers. (This is probably the biggest thing. No good articles, no readership.)
- Not enough writers period.
- Not enough of a twist on the format to merit being a totally separate community. (This is why the WL flourishes.)
- No plan of outreach; will it be able to survive with the same group of writers for a year? Two years? Five?
We aren't saying the site will fail because we hate someone involved, it's because we are rarely, if ever, proven wrong. So I'll challenge you guys to prove us wrong. Please prove us wrong, we really don't mind an unofficial offshoot if the writing is good and at least somewhat frequent.
If you feel like sharing this with the CI wiki's forum I'd appreciate it, and I encourage anyone there with questions or thoughts to send me a message whenever.

The site just opened for editing, and we already have some successful articles up, courtesy of "Victor Strate", me and him are planning some articles for both SCP and The Chaos Insurgency. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I think this post made Hockenberry think we hated him; I don't think Flying Spidersnake knew he was an admin for the CI wiki.
He's not, he's just a guy. But it doesn't matter in the context of "this guy's spreading bad information, we need to get in touch with them and set the record straight."

First of all, it would be nice if you explained who or what Project: Falchion Valley was, with links as appropriate. I categorically refuse to authorize something I know nothing about. Secondly, the last time we looked over your spin-off (which was just last month), you had barely any content and next to know actual activity. Our minimum requirements for recognizing a site and linking to it are that it has a sizable active userbase and a significant amount of original content. As of now, your wiki meets neither requirement. Until that changes, the answer will be NO.
A little brusque, yes, but I don't particularly like being given a YES or NO decision as a mandate.

The fact that the guy signed his PM in-character makes me leery of potential repercussions had you given any hint of a "yes".
Also, I don't like the idea of linking right off the GOI page. Maybe on the front page or with the other offshoot wikis/front companies, but not the GOI page itself. I'm just not comfortable with the idea of any offshoot site being given any leeway to proclaim themselves "the official endorsed no you can't make another GOI site we got recognition seeee"

[Only had time to get online after midnight, and am online due to surprise bout of insomnia, so apologies for any clarity issues in this post.]
The answer is NO. Linking from the GOI page, definitely not, unless they actually hit the quality standards we'd expect from this wiki.
In this case, while they've certainly improved, they still fall massively short.
They're mostly two people at this point with some assorted lurkers — looking at their Recent Posts, the request to link the GOI page is specifically to get more members.
But, um. I really don't want to rain unnecessarily on the parades of others, and I really do wish them the best of luck. But… the fact is, their entire wiki is a Foundation-format ripoff created to be free of Foundation quality standards; and indeed none of the articles currently extant on the site (as far as I can tell) would meet our own standards. (Although the prose quality has improved since the last iteration. There's some badly written shit, but the articles are significantly cleaner.) But that is the reason it exists, as far as I understand — the authors couldn't get their stuff to fly on our site (or couldn't get in). So I am really not excited about linking that sort of thing. Very different from a translation site.

I know it's probably just me, but I feel like the mention of high-profile SCP Wiki author avatar names is a bit like trying to establish a connection to the main wiki that's not there yet and might never be for all we know. Thoughts?
I don't. The mention of high-profile SCP characters reads like them saying "we need popular characters that will draw people in."

Got a PM from EdAWACS. Apparently the old creator of the CI-wiki site contacted him, and they've officially taken down that site or something. It's been declared "dead", with ci-data being the active offshoot now.
