Over the last week or so, a new user by the name of toadking07 has been PMing me asking for some more in-depth details on how our CC license works. I don't really know how to answer some of his questions/concerns, so am putting this up here hoping someone else can help him out.
Hi, I was wondering if you could help point me in the right direct of who might best be able to answer a few questions I had about the creative commons license. I understand the general gist of it but there are some finer points I was hoping to have cleared up by someone more knowledgeable. If anyone could take some time and get back to me it would be most appreciated
I don't have anything specific plans but I am curious about the possibilities. I've read through the site's guide as well as the CC site itself though there are some aspects I still have questions about. The openness of the license makes it both simple and more complicated than the traditional rules that govern commercial works. I see a number of games and various artwork being produced by people but it seems most are noncommercial work with people contributing as they have time
If it helps if I have a more specific purpose or question I can pull something together. I am curious about the license and how it allows people to just blatantly use someone else's art related to the SCP Foundation, if that is the case or if the work needs to be modified more. I don't want to come off as someone scheming something dastardly, it's just a grey area I don't full understand about the Guide post on the subject. I see several game projects and that is my major, but I wonder about apps or more commercial work than I see on here already.
