Highlights include:

You really don't know how hard I'm trying to avoid having this devolve entirely into screaming at you and yelling "fuck you" over and over.

It's been bothering me more and more that I appear to have gotten away with this, especially considering that I was a moderator at that time, and should have been held to higher standards.

So a couple days ago, I got bored and, wrongly assuming that it wouldn't be a big deal, deleted all of the drafts that've been saved on pages.¹ To be clear, because this has come up before, any on- or off-site sandboxes are intact.

For this, I would like to apologize to the wiki in general, and to anyone directly affected by my actions in particular. In retrospect, I can see that not only was it not my decision to make, simply being saved in a not-recommended way is not reason enough for anyone to delete your shit. And, as a moderator, I'm supposed to know better.

If you think something of yours might have gotten lost in the shuffle, please contact me; I've saved a small number of these to pastebins, either because they looked to be of high quality or for other reasons.

1. If you choose 'save draft' on a page while editing, or simply exit that tab/browser, it's saved as a draft. This can be done on pages that don't exist; in any case, no record is kept of who created a draft or when, or anything else that happens to it, other than the fact that it exists.

So far as we know, none yet.

Also, ultimately, we would have deleted these anyway, but we wouldn't have gone about it this way. In the future we'll set up a process, even if it's just "get oversight while you do it — and if necessary [IE actual content was present] announce it in the forums, making a copy available".
