tapnek made an unauthorized substantive edit to SCP-50-AE-J (the Deagle), which I reverted. I then sent him the following PM
I saw that you added a line to SCP-50-AE-J, the Deagle. Don't make substantive edits like that to someone else's article without permission, unless it's been specifically marked as an open collab. I've reverted it.
S/he appears to have no activity on the site except this edit and an edit to Bright's Don't List immediately afterwards. No further administrative action needed at this time, just noting this here for posterity.
Edit: As I was writing this comment, s/he PM'd me the following message:
How would I know it is an open collab?
My response:
They will/should have the "collab" tag at the bottom. But generally speaking, it's bad form to edit ANY article without the author's permission. The only exception is minor grammar/spelling edits. Just keep in mind that both American and British spellings are acceptable, so words like gray/grey and humor/humour would both be okay. If in doubt, ask.
You're not in trouble, just don't do it again.
Huntzerz uploaded a pic to the SCP Series 2 page. S/he has been a member less than a day, so I suspect this was an accident/misunderstanding. I sent them the following message:
I saw that you just uploaded a file called SCP-1216-1.jpg to the Series 2 page. I suspect that you intend to use this as part of a SCP, but please don't upload files on any page except the one you're going to use it on. I'll wait until this evening to delete it, so you have a chance to re-download it if you don't still have a copy.
I strongly recommend making a sandbox & uploading your files for your works-in-progress there.

I'll delete the file later this evening. Again, no administrative action needed, just noting this for posterity.
Edit: Aaaaand apparently moments later s/he posted a work-in-progress in the 1216 slot, using that uploaded pic. *sigh* S/he has already been given a link to the sandbox in the comments.
Edit 2: And s/he killed it pretty fast too. I deleted the pic off the SCP Series 2 (along with another one that was hiding there) and saved it into my sandbox.
Giving bearhugs to the unsuspecting since 1872.
