I am of the opinion that possible (not even confirmed, at the time) plagiarism isn't a reason to specifically downvote an article that you would otherwise not downvote, and while it's in a grey area (and therefore I felt didn't merit a specific warning), that kind of group behavior is not something we want to encourage.

I dunno, "I feel like this is a ripoff" seems to be a good reason not to like something, and given the page in question it sounds like one of many reasons not to like it.

That's not what this was about, though. This was "this might be copy/pasted from Reddit by someone who was not the original author, but it might also have been copy/pasted from Reddit by the original author".

Voting on SCPs for 'internet justice' reasons (especially with the attendant 'guilty until proven innocent') is a bad idea.

Seconding Moose on this one. Plagiarism is actually too serious for downvoting to be the appropriate reaction; staff should kill the article as soon as plagiarism is confirmed. Until then, the article should be judged on its merits or proven to be plagiarized. Downvoting because some guy said a thing isn't a good enough reason.
