In regards to a development regarding monetization of SCP material, Aelanna came out with the idea of protecting future material by placing it under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0) license. In short, instead of the material being open to any and all use by third parties, anything produced and released under this license would allow some degree of control to reside with the authors, with the material unusable by outside sources unless they specifically chose to release those rights. As it stands, we have no control over anything, and this would be a step in the right direction towards stopping the bleeding. Existing material created prior to inception of this license is tainted, and would stay under the old CC. It must be said that every passing moment is a chance for more material to pass through this gate. A decision needs to be made, and quickly. This is neither the time nor the place for a two-week long debate and hash-out while we wait for a perfect quorum. With the way things are changing, we as a collective need to learn how to react fast and move faster. The situation developing will not wait for us. Here's the license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/ Admins, mods, staff, fire away.
