It's a translation of our own wiki apparently, though no one has really said anything to them. I'm just saying should we link it on the front page, much as SCP-Russia?
I was prepared to do it myself, but I was just making sure people were okay with it before I did.
it's not very filled out yet. not so sure. i mean it's good and all to link to sites in other languages, but at the same time i feel that those sites should meet a certain standard of quality first.
his is hosted on a blog site, and he only has a few articles translated so far it seems.
there's other korean SCP projects too from what i can tell. what makes his merit being the one to get linked to?
it seems to just be a project he is working on by himself. if he can get more support, build a quality website, and build a decent community then i'm all for it.

the difference between this and the russian site is the russians built their site and worked to establish a real community, and when we discovered them we thought it was awesome and decided to link to them. whereas so far it seems this is just a guy thinking a korean site would be cool to have and wanting people to join him on it.
I'd prefer to wait to link until they start writing their own. That's the point at which I feel we should go: "Bitchin. Lets help."
When they've established their own writing community? Sure. Let's help them and be bros. Until then, they're just translating. A formidable task, but not yet time for attention.

Actually, on closer inspection, this fella might be a little sketchy. One of the users PM'd me, saying that of the articles he posted, those that had pictures, didn't have the pictures associated with them.
So… yeah, this might be iffy.
I sent the guy a PM advising him the kind of stuff he might want to look into doing if he wanted to make it a community we would want to link to. (Nothing "official" since we haven't decided anything yet, just my advice). Here was his reply:

looks like that wiki is mentioned in bright's post below by members of that fansite this guy linked to, so actually i'm figuring theyre already connected.
I've looked them both over. The first, withe the SCP-RoKs seems to be writing much more of their own, but the second has an actual wiki, and has a good…. 70% translated. Though reading further through it, I think they have original stuff of their own, though may actually be heavily RP based, and some of it I believe is crossover fanfiction….
That said, some of the links in the second one are a bit odd. Like… I'm not sure if it's in-jokes within their own community, or just references TVTropes style. For example, this is supposedly an extra curricular page on "Abel". I can't really read much on it, but there's a hell of a lot of crosslinking.
The first one has its own slew of stuff. Like their own ROK-043, not to be confused with our own. ….I'm honestly not sure what to make of this.
Consolidation does seem like a good idea though.
As for linking, I think we should get a better feel and maybe some back translation of what these guys are first.
Also in favour of waiting until we have more complete info.

Devan and I, are both translating SCP articles. And we know several, in angelhiro wiki and S.Korea headquarters.
SCP Korea is only a personal blog. His recently made site and blog contains less translations than angelhiro wiki or S.Korea headquarter. S.Korea headquarter has more than 200 SCP translation, including foundation tales and etc.Also, they are trying to help people get into foundation main site, by translating their SCPs to english. Angelhiro wiki has more articles, but they only have brief explanation about these SCPs, and no visual records and others.But they to have lots of articles there.
SCP Korea's action had upset many SCP translators in Korea, including me and Devan.

That also says that SCP-Korea isn't as nice a person as we originally assumed. It does also put his almost forceful attempts to get his site up on the main page in quite another light.
After looking over these two sites, I'm not sure if a consolidation is possible. Which brings us back to our original question.
Which should we link, if any and why?
To be honest, I'm going for S.Korea, because that seems like an actual SCP branch wiki site, with writers and suchnot, whereas the Angelhiro wiki seems much more like a mass wiki that has SCP in it.
Agreeing with linking to S.Korea. I find their site a bit annoying to try to read, but then that's me as an English speaker trying to use Google Translate, for all I know for a Korean that site is totally awesome. It looks like the one I remember having seen previously, which if so they've been around a good while longer than this guy. I think it'd be nice if they used a similar style to the English and Russian wikis, but I wouldn't call that necessary by any means.

My main thought is: "OH HEY! Look at all this drama that for once we aren't being forced to deal with! :D"
Also I can't help but laugh at the reassurance that the person who sent the above message is totally sorry and will never do it again, coming from the original target of the message. If "Grace" wants to PM us telling us that it was all a misunderstanding, fine, but I'm not going to take scp_korea's word for it.
FYI: I might be slightly biased because scp_korea posted several bad articles and totally ignored all critique on them (only making a single initial comment each time to point out that he has typos and bad English… without making any effort to get it proofread). I just don't think that's a good sign.
EDIT: He did go and try to get critique for some other works, though, FWIW. This may not be at all relevant to the question of whether we want to link this stuff or not, I'm just explaining why I might be biased. :P
Either way, I think we should play it safe and link none of these sites, just for the time being.

Alright. It was discussed earlier, and I'd like some thoughts on the official policy we use when linking and acknowledging one of these translation sites from other places and whatnot. So…
To request to be linked from the SCP Foundation Main Site, you must meet two major criteria. Firstly, you must be hosting your site at a location which offers itself as a community—a public forum or wiki, for example, rather than your personal website. Secondly, your site's members must be creating their own SCPs in their own language.
The first criteria is to encourage the growth of an SCP community in a different country and culture. The second is because we're a writing site, first and foremost. While a translation site is interesting and certainly of value, sites that are only translations should not be linked. We need to encourage these places to write, create, and branch out in their own ways—just like the Russian site has done.
If you meet these two criteria, you'll be linked from the main page of the site. If you don't, then you won't be. Additionally, it should go without saying that a link to our main page would be similarly requested.
On a side note, my current plan is to make a section of the front page (bottom left, actually) specially for these links. Thoughts on this policy before it's implemented?

Agreed with this as the standard for linking to websites that are meant to be SCP sites in another language.
If we are to be applying this to linking to other websites at all, however, then I would suggest altering this to include communities whose purpose is to make original SCP content(be it articles, videos, audio files, music, games, SCP fuel pictures, realistic looking foundation websites, etc). Not that I have any in mind, but I wouldn't want to exclude other websites solely because they weren't about writing SCP articles specifically.
Basically, link to them if they are actively adding material to the SCP universe rather than just being SCP fansites.

If that's the direction we went with it then I would also like to have something about quality. A bit ambiguous, but a site littered with sketchy ads or one that is shoddily made that would reflect badly on SCP as a whole should probably be excluded even if it otherwise matches the first two criteria.
If the Chinese folks at 123ubb are already over this bar (which is a judgment call that someone could make), then is it time to link to them now in the same way as the Russian site?

Right, so there's been an update on thsi whole SCP-Korea thing. I just got a PM from Grace that says:

Ok, we did settle the matters but I NEVER imagined that they would send message like that. Oh well.S.Korea hq had made SCP Korean wiki (http://scpkoreahq.wikidot.com/), using wikidot as a host site.
We are going to use S.Korea HQ (http://cafe.naver.com/scpfoundation) as the forum, sandbox and chat. You will see a minion chatroom on the main.We were already a site (S.Korea hq), but we developed the site as wiki so more people can make their SCPs, and it was easier to show translations. We are trying to put SCP-KR on the page, too, and translate it in english to contribute in original site. That means we have same function with Russian wiki.
We opened the site today so people can join and write their SCP and translate. But we are still on to moving articles for now.
If it seems OK, can you consider linking this site on your main?
