In the past two weeks, we've had at least two, I think at least three, new writers whose first language isn't English. That wouldn't be a problem if they weren't posting SCP writeups without running them by a proofreader first. I almost feel like we should add something to the introductory materials that emphasizes the importance of proofreading, or that says something to the effect of "It's fine if English isn't your first language. No problem. Just please be extra sure to have your work proofed before posting."
(On the other hand, is it unfair to single out nonnative-English-speakers like that, when we'd be just as ticked if it was a native speaker with bad grammar who was posting without proofing?)
