<MisterBibs> at the risk of being an ass (and thus, I'm PMing you)… let me guess, people are increasing calling some people out for being asshats and you want people to accept it and stop calling them out?
<DrMann> Nope. No more than usual, anyway.
<MisterBibs> Fair enough. I'll be honest, the message I took from that is "If you're having a problem, its your fault, not theirs". Frankly, I think yoric (and maybe bright) needs a bit of a "stop being an asshat" talking to
<DrMann> …
<MisterBibs> but hey, thats me whining, aint gonna happen
<DrMann> You're right, Bibs. That's why I then went over the proper procedure for bringing up problems with Staff. It's totally because I want people to shut up.
<DrMann> That was sarcasm, by the way.
<DrMann> Just to be clear.
<MisterBibs> I know, silly :)
<DrMann> If you have a problem with a member of staff, please log the incident, and take it up the chain.
<MisterBibs> nothing worth the hassle, forget I said anything
<DrMann> Well, if you do have a problem, you know where to go for redress.
<MisterBibs> Yeah… to the chat to whine for a few minutes and forget about it :)
<DrMann> No, actually.
<DrMann> If you have a problem, and you refuse to try and get it dealt with, I don't want you whining about it in chat.
<DrMann> You have no right to complain if you're not willing to take steps to try and correct the problem.
<MisterBibs> Yeah, one of me versus one of the staff. I've been online too long to know how that winds up
<DrMann> When Kondraki got out of line, we demoted him, and eventually banned him. When Fishmonger got out of line, we did the same. Because of how they treated ordinary users. Yoric lost his op in chat because of his inability to stop running his mouth. He came very close to a permaban a few times. We are more than willing to put a stop to one of our own, believe me.
<MisterBibs> I was unaware. I apologize. Assuming good faith is hard to come by for me.
<DrMann> However, we are not willing to put up with passive-aggressive whining. If you have a problem, then either deal with it, or let it go.
<MisterBibs> understood
<DrMann> This is particularly problematic because when you complain like that without trying to deal with the problem, it makes other people think the Staff are apathetic, and they don't come to us with problems.
<DrMann> So in the future, I expect to see a lot less of that in chat.
<MisterBibs> please, it aint like I do it consistently. I rant for a line, shrug it off, and forget it. but noted, regardless
Needless to say, if you see Bibs being passive aggressive in chat, feel free to drop whatever disciplinary action you feel he merits. He's had his official warning.
