Is the Taboo guy one of the two guys credited to be the writers of this book series? I can't tell if he's just a fan who made a fan wiki or one of the actual creators (and if he should be the one who gets your message).

Mhmm. Are these books currently in print? From what is stated, it feels kind of like a throw away shout out, like how the war tank is named 'bun-bun' in that one series… I'm not exactly comfortable with this, but, if it has already been printed, I'm not sure what we could do.

I'm fine with them using the SCP as indirect inspiration, whatever the nature of the project. Goodness knows that weird ideas beget weird ideas, often for the better. I'm fine with shout-outs, too; they're basically good publicity. If the SCP plays a significant role in the story, though, then they really need at least to attribute the source properly. Also, if he's making money on a story in which we're more than a shout-out, I'm not really okay with us being included sans our consent or direct involvement. I'd hate for Clef's ideas, or any of ours, to feature in some kind of lucrative phenomenon (stranger things have happened) for which their creator gets neither credit nor remuneration.

I'm not sure I like this. I'd suggest to tell him to remove it. I haven't seen once yet that anything like this went well for us. And if he made any kind of profit, I think legal action is in order.

So long as they're not trying to make any money off of it, there's nothing we can do beyond asking them for proper attribution. Frankly, so long as it's fair use, making a stink about it is likely to do more harm than letting them continue. This seems harmless enough. I say wait for Clef to get a response, and if everything's kosher, ignore them.

Well, I don't think that should be too much of a concern, since I consider this "extended fanction (there are elements in these stories from so many different things it's a little sad)," so I don't intend to ever have it published or anything.
