As per the general consensus in the discussion of this thread I am putting forward a vote on adding back/next buttons to SCP articles. These would be small unobtrusive links in small text at the bottom of the page, beneath footnotes, which would link to the previous and next SCP articles. I have also added in random SCP/Tale buttons to it because that was a request from social media and I thought it was a good one.
The social media sites were polled, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. It's easily one of the most popular things that we've ever posted about. The fans were positively rabid for it. This makes me feel very good about proceeding.
A mockup for how this would look can be found on the SCP-2600 page.
The vote is for the following options:
1. All SCPs in Series I-III would be linked to. Anq has already volunteered jarvis for this process. Once that one-time mass edit is done, someone will go through and edit the locked pages. Following this, the formatting would be added to the How To Write an SCP guide as standard formatting. Series IV authors will be able to add them as they post their SCPs, and we can probably see about filling any gaps as the ten blocs fill up. I've also added Random SCP/Tale links for the reasons mentioned above.
2. The same as 1, but without the Random SCP/Tale links. If the positive vote is split between one and two this option would be implemented.
3. Opposed to this idea.
<Vote on Hold until Monday March 8>
At least half of current Active staff will need to vote on this proposal for it to pass. Once that threshold has been passed, the vote will end and the proposal will be implemented. If a majority vote against or too few vote by the time's end, then the motion will not pass.
Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
