So, I has an idea, for the whole book project. Since it's been suggested that we only use Senior Staff SCPs, what I want in this thread is, Which SCPs of yours do you think are worth putting in?

This is ONLY for the SCPs of YOURS that you think could be put in print. After we clear this thread, we'll make one for the ones of others they left out.

So, to start this off.

SCP-963: Brights Amulet: … Okay, I think it needs some cleaning up, but I also think it's a good one.
SCP-590: The healing Kid:You knew this one was going to be on here. I think it's a perfect example of how to treat humanoid SCP
SCP-573: The Bone Pipe: I wrote it and this one still creeps me out.
possibly SCP-361, the self referential tarot without the addenda.
SCP-050: To the Cleverest: I think the prank log could be used nicely
SCP-627: the perpetual circle: I think it adds some history to the foundation.
SCP-644 and SCP894, to show off the factory a bit

What of yours do you like?

Those are the only ones that I've written that would make it, I think. SCP-221 is eh, and SCP-268 just hasn't been very widely received I guess.

I'd also offer to go digging for pictures for some of these. Since most of them will probably be copywrited, etc. So there's the option of using public domain/open photos, or, if that fails, I have some friends who are photographers.

I always have issues when it comes to this. I'd love for things like 882 or 184 to be in a book, but it feels rather…I don't know, pompous I guess? I think I'd have to let others decide, or just get kicked in the teeth enough to make a decision…

God, having a book would be fun. A actual for-profit book might be…err…hard, but I had a idea for just a inter-site distributed thing. Have them be old photocopied pages, like the PDF project pages look, and all bound in a old, scuffed binder. Maybe even have one or two "extras" (like those little pewter statues they put with new movies or games sometimes), like a little vial of "seawater" with a little clutch of watch gears in it, labeled "SCP-882 Sample", or a rubbing of the surface of the Bone Pipe.

Possibly even include some of the logs or extra material, inter-spaced with the entries. I support this idea, and will assist in any way i can.

It really wouldn't be any harder than a not-for-profit book. The hard part is getting it written into a cohesive whole. Once we have that, we either send it off to a publisher or just upload it to lulu.com.

We could always make the book be non-profit, and make it stay within the public domain. I'm pretty sure that's doable if you give the proceeds to a charity or something.

Eh, not really. We still wouldn't be able to include anyone else's contributions. Even if we give the money for the book to a charity, it's still not the same use people originally put their work towards (which is to say, completely free and accessible over the internet). We would still need to get permission for everything in the book. Even if you buy that it counts as the same form of use, there are other problems. If we go with a publisher or lulu.com, then there are no out-of-pocket expenses for us. We don't have to pay to publish the book. However, even if we don't take our share, the publisher would still be taking a profit on each book sold, which means it's still being sold for-profit. To be able to make the claim that it's completely non-profit, we'd need to either convince the publisher to go charity, or else incur the costs on our own.

Basically, this would be more work for the same product, but without the reward of funding the site.

I only have the one SCP, but all of my Foundation tales would be bookable, I think.
places where the birds don't cry and His Clockwork servants, certainly, though opportunity knocks reads more like creepypasta.

I figure any of mine would work, especially if (for example) incident reports were written by actual creative writers….

Also, I would be very sad if the Ball of Sharp were not included.

I honestly don't mind what gets put in of mine, or what doesn't, though I think everyone would prefer to see what's actually relevant, and not horribly Mary Suish.
