I was sent a message today. I'll let it speak for itself:
Hello, Dr.
I work with a couple of major league feature film producers and they are interested in developing a SCP Foundation movie.
Is there any way I could speak or trade messages with your "top men" to work out some sort of deal for the rightsnot to the stories as I understand these are user submittedbut to the name and the concept.
Please feel free to email me or call me or to forward this request to someone else in the Foundation's inner circle or a representative thereof.
Thanks!
Scott Kinney
He includes contact information in the form of phone number and email for yahoo. My reply is as follows:
Mr. Kinney,
I admit, I am somewhat stunned by your message. We've dabbled with the idea of the production of some sort of film based on the SCP mythos, but have always butted up to issues when it comes to the actual nuts-and-bolts production. Being as we are, generally, committed to this as a fun hobby as opposed to our "day jobs", this isn't all that surprising. Still, the interest is very exciting
As for top men…well, embarrassingly enough, it appears you've reached the top one on the first try. I've been with this since very close to the start, and am responsible for some of the more major entries and concepts. There's a small clutch of other "top" fellows, but as for anything resembling a "head", I'm it. I'd be very happy to get in touch and look at the feasibility of a film based on the mythos of The Foundation universe.
Now, as I'm sure you understand, I'd like to take a little time to verify that this is a real, valid proposition before barreling forth. What is a good time to get in contact with you, and were are you located? I'm in Michigan myself, and would like to not bump in to time-zone issues and end up waking you up at some ungodly hour. Once we've gone back and forth a bit, I'll alert the "inner circle" such as it is, and get in to the meat of things.
Our most well-received concept was a series of short films. Interview recordings, breach events, and other "snippets" that together keep the disjointed, strange feel of the SCP but still allow for some kind of nutritive. Again, we can hash out the details over time, but i am excited to look in to this. Please let me know your thoughts as soon as possible.

Very good chance this is bullshit, but if it's not, holy shit. I'll see if he's on the level first, but if this pans out…wow. I'll keep y'all posted if/when things happen. in the mean time…dust off the film discussion.
