So, the identity of the troll who has left us no other moniker than "69" has been my little project for the past week or so. And, true to my initial expectations, it has proven (or has become overwhelmingly likely) to be a known and moderately established member of the site and chat.

Namely, Xenomorph666.

The evidence against him is fairly overwhelming, and his explanations and evidence in his favor are… exeedingly paltry, to say the least. Evidence begins when the 69 troll joins one of our chats.

So, the_xenomorph666 and his "friend's" emails for registering the nick are one and the same. For those of you who are unfamiliar with how it works, nick registration requires full access to the email account in question.

Now, as all this information came to light, staff at large and myself felt this was fairly convincing evidence. I, however, decided to let the_xenomorph666 explain himself. The relevant portion of the conversation is below.

In light of the above, I am moving (as a non-member of the Disciplinary Team, should have clarified, my apologies) for a permanent ban for trolling against the_xenomorph666 on the wiki. I have already banned him on chat.

Incredible.

Nobody with the computer literacy needed to be able to navigate IRC and multiple Wikidot sites, AND to send PMs on Wikidot, AND to weasel out a load of sandboxes to vandalize, AND to link shock images to people, nobody that is able to do any of that "doesn't have an email".

I'm genuinely surprised at xeno. he'd occasionally been an annoyance but he was seemingly making an effort with chat and the site. To find out this is just…wow.

Edit: Also if he's being serious and actually is dumb enough to share an email account with someone at a school (highly unlikely that's true) then he's really just brought this on himself but the chances of 69 being someone else are remote.

I was honestly quite surprised myself- the reason I gave him time to prove himself before posting was solely due to "wow, I didn't predict this was you". However, yeah, have paid my pound of flesh in the banning trolls department and, well, we almost never have evidence this good.

By adding someone as a contact on wikidot, you can see their email (only if they accept! don't worry!). Xeno's email is the same as the one he uses for chat, and therefore the same as the one the troll used for chat.

His appeal makes bugger all sense and comes down to "If I was the troll I would have done a better job of concealing my identity" and all that proves is that he's bad at covering up his trolling.

His story makes no sense and he's provided no proof whatsoever that he isn't the troll.

If he really isn't a troll then as I said before, he was dumb enough to share an email account with someone (which still doesn't make any sense, if your friend somehow isn't capable of setting one up, why would you share one rather than setting one up for them?) and then use that email to register everything.
