**Item #:** SCP-9232
**Object Class:** Safe
**Threat Level:** White/Orange — Threatened
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-9232 is contained in Humanoid Living Quarters-9232 at Site-██. The room measures 12 × 12 meters and has been designed to resemble a private living space rather than a conventional containment cell.
The room is to contain a wooden bed, a cotton mattress, a wooden table, two chairs, a wardrobe, personal hygiene facilities, a bookshelf, adjustable lighting, a mechanical desk bell, and a 2.1-meter wooden cross.
The wooden cross is not to be removed from SCP-9232's quarters without her permission. Following Incident 9232-04, its presence has been classified as a necessary part of SCP-9232's containment.
No mirrors or other highly reflective surfaces are permitted inside the containment area.
Surveillance cameras may be installed throughout the room, provided that no camera is positioned in a manner that could reveal SCP-9232's face beneath her veil. Any recording that accidentally provides a clear view of her face is to be immediately destroyed.
Personnel entering SCP-9232's quarters must knock before entering and wait for permission. Personnel are required to address SCP-9232 respectfully. The preferred forms of address are "Mrs. 9232" or "Mrs. [REDACTED]." Informal, dismissive, mocking, or deliberately disrespectful forms of address are prohibited.
Personnel are prohibited from:
* Attempting to remove SCP-9232's veil.
* Touching SCP-9232 without her permission.
* Asking what is beneath SCP-9232's veil.
* Confining SCP-9232 in a room without providing her with an accessible means of exit.
* Knowingly lying to SCP-9232.
* Associating SCP-9232 with deceased individuals or offering condolences regarding her death.
* Threatening SCP-9232, either directly or indirectly.
* Addressing SCP-9232 in a deliberately disrespectful manner.
Additional restrictions may be introduced at any time following further observation.
Personnel are reminded that the above restrictions are not necessarily representative of SCP-9232's full capabilities. The Foundation currently has no reliable means of determining the maximum effective range of SCP-9232's anomalous abilities without exposing personnel to unacceptable risk.
SCP-9232 is not to be forcibly relocated unless authorized by two Level 4 personnel and the Site Director.
---
**Description:** SCP-9232 is a humanoid female possessing the physical characteristics of a human adult. She is approximately 168 cm in height and generally wears a long, dark gray-black garment made from a coarse fabric resembling aged wool.
SCP-9232 wears a pale gray-white veil which completely conceals her face. The veil extends from the top of her head to approximately the middle of her torso.
SCP-9232 strongly dislikes having her face observed.
Attempts to remove or deliberately look beneath the veil have consistently resulted in hostile responses. However, Foundation personnel initially incorrectly interpreted this behavior as evidence that the veil itself possessed anomalous properties.
Current evidence indicates that SCP-9232 simply does not want her face to be seen.
SCP-9232 possesses an anomalous ability allowing her to exert direct control over living organisms within an unknown range.
The ability has been observed affecting humans, mammals, birds, insects, and plants. The exact upper limit of its range remains unknown.
SCP-9232 does not require physical contact to utilize this ability and does not necessarily require verbal commands. She is capable of manipulating multiple individuals simultaneously with considerable precision.
Affected individuals have been observed walking, stopping, dropping objects, changing direction, leaving rooms, kneeling, and performing other physically possible actions against their will.
SCP-9232 has demonstrated no consistent tendency to limit the amount of force used when exercising her anomalous abilities.
If SCP-9232 considers the use of force necessary, she will generally use it.
Because of this, any deliberate attempt to provoke, intimidate, threaten, restrain, or deceive SCP-9232 is considered a serious containment violation.
Despite her anomalous capabilities, SCP-9232 displays extensive human characteristics.
She eats and drinks normally, sleeps regularly, experiences physical pain and fatigue, displays a wide range of emotions, communicates fluently, reads, remembers events from her past, and demonstrates personal preferences.
SCP-9232 has also demonstrated empathy and an understanding of social etiquette.
The Foundation's initial classification of SCP-9232 as a non-human anomalous entity is now considered inaccurate.
Medical examinations have demonstrated that SCP-9232 possesses biological characteristics consistent with a human being.
More significantly, genetic and historical records have revealed that SCP-9232 appears to correspond to a woman who died more than a century ago.
SCP-9232 has confirmed that this woman was herself.
When asked whether she is aware that she is dead, SCP-9232 answered:
> "Yes."
When asked how she died, SCP-9232 answered only:
> "The cross."
Further questioning was refused.
---
### Behavioral Anomaly
At approximately 12:00 every day, SCP-9232 enters a recurring behavioral state lasting between 30 and 60 minutes.
During this period, SCP-9232 walks to the wooden cross located inside her quarters and uses her anomalous abilities to suspend and position her own body against it.
No external force is involved.
SCP-9232 appears to be deliberately reenacting an event from her past.
During this period, SCP-9232 frequently speaks to an unidentified individual who cannot be detected by audio, visual, or anomalous monitoring equipment.
Commonly recorded statements include:
> "Forgive me."
> "I already tried."
> "I didn't mean to."
> "Please don't leave."
The identity of the individual being addressed remains unknown.
Attempts to question SCP-9232 about this individual have generally resulted in immediate termination of the conversation.
The behavior ends spontaneously after approximately 30–60 minutes.
SCP-9232 then returns to her normal behavior and frequently requests water or food.
---
## Discovery
SCP-9232 was discovered on 14/10/20██ inside **St. Aurelia's Chapel**, an abandoned religious building located approximately 18 km from the town of ███████.
The chapel had reportedly been abandoned for approximately 37 years.
Local authorities received multiple reports of voices coming from inside the building despite repeated inspections finding no occupants.
The final report was made by a hiker who claimed to have heard "people praying" inside the abandoned chapel at approximately 02:50.
Mobile Task Force Eta-11 ("Savage Beasts") was dispatched to investigate.
At 03:17, helmet-mounted footage recorded an unidentified woman sitting on the first pew of the chapel.
The woman was later identified as SCP-9232.
The interior of the chapel was heavily covered in dust. Several stained-glass windows had been broken, and portions of the wooden floor had collapsed.
SCP-9232, however, appeared completely unaffected by the condition of the building.
The following exchange was recorded.
> **Lt. █████:** "Mrs., are you injured?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "You shouldn't have come."
>
> **Lt. █████:** "We're here to get you out."
>
> **SCP-9232:** "No."
>
> **Lt. █████:** "Mrs., the building isn't safe."
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Neither are you."
At this point, every member of the MTF team became completely immobile.
Weapons fell from their hands.
One operator attempted to speak but was unable to move his jaw.
SCP-9232 stood and walked past the immobilized personnel.
She opened the chapel's front door.
> **SCP-9232:** "Leave."
Approximately 43 minutes later, all members of the MTF regained control of their bodies.
None could explain how they had left the building.
SCP-9232 remained inside the chapel.
A second containment team arrived at 07:21.
Unlike the first team, the second team did not attempt to approach SCP-9232 without permission.
The team commander knocked on the chapel's door.
> **Commander █████:** "Mrs., may we come inside?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
SCP-9232 surrendered without resistance.
Before leaving the chapel, she looked toward the cross positioned behind the altar.
She then said:
> "Please don't make me your enemy."

# Addendum 9232.1 — Incident Log 01
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 01
**Personnel:** Dr. █████
Dr. █████ hypothesized that SCP-9232's veil was the source of her anomalous abilities.
During an observation session, he attempted to lift the edge of the veil.
SCP-9232 immediately said:
> "Don't."
Dr. █████ continued.
His hand stopped approximately three centimeters from the veil.
He then turned away from SCP-9232 and struck the nearby table three times with his palm.
SCP-9232 did not move.
> **SCP-9232:** "I said don't."
Dr. █████ was released from SCP-9232's control after she exited the room.
Rule 01 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.2 — Incident Log 02
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 02
**Personnel:** Security Officer █████
Security Officer █████ attempted to physically move SCP-9232 from her chair by grabbing her arm.
SCP-9232 immediately turned toward him.
The officer then walked backward approximately five meters without consciously controlling his movement and stopped against a wall.
> **SCP-9232:** "Don't touch me."
> **Officer █████:** "I was following orders."
> **SCP-9232:** "Then follow them properly."
The officer's motor control returned approximately 18 minutes later.
Rule 02 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.3 — Incident Log 03
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 03
**Personnel:** Researcher █████
During an interview, Researcher █████ asked:
> "What's underneath the veil?"
SCP-9232 became silent.
For approximately eight seconds, every living organism within the room ceased voluntary movement.
The insects near the ceiling lights stopped flying.
A potted plant stopped moving despite the ventilation system remaining active.
Researcher █████ was forced to stand and leave the room.
SCP-9232 remained seated.
> **SCP-9232:** "I don't like that question."
Rule 03 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.4 — Incident Log 04
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 04
As part of a containment experiment, SCP-9232 was placed inside a standard humanoid containment chamber.
The door was locked.
No personnel were present inside.
For the first eleven minutes, nothing occurred.
At 12 minutes, several plants located throughout the surrounding research sector began moving toward the containment chamber.
At 13 minutes, personnel in the sector began walking toward the chamber.
At 15 minutes, the containment door opened.
No mechanical failure was found.
SCP-9232 walked out.
She approached the security supervisor.
> **SCP-9232:** "I told you not to lock me in."
> **Supervisor:** "We didn't hear you say that."
SCP-9232 turned toward him.
> **SCP-9232:** "Now you have."
Rule 04 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.5 — Incident Log 05
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 05
A researcher informed SCP-9232 that a scheduled experiment would not involve physical contact.
The statement was false.
Several minutes later, the researcher attempted to attach monitoring equipment to SCP-9232's hand.
SCP-9232 asked:
> "You said there would be no touching."
> **Researcher:** "I changed my mind."
SCP-9232 remained silent for several seconds.
> **SCP-9232:** "No. You lied."
Every loose monitoring device in the room immediately moved toward the researcher.
No other personnel were affected.
SCP-9232 then said:
> "Leave."
The researcher walked out of the room under SCP-9232's control.
Rule 05 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.6 — Incident Log 06
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 06
A newly assigned technician was unaware of SCP-9232's history.
While delivering food, the technician said:
> "I'm sorry for your loss, Mrs."
SCP-9232 immediately dropped her spoon.
She did not control the technician.
Instead, she quietly said:
> "Don't."
The technician apologized.
SCP-9232 left the table and remained unresponsive for approximately 42 minutes.
Rule 06 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.7 — Incident Log 07
**Subject:** Violation of Rule 07
A security officer became frustrated during an interaction with SCP-9232.
> **Officer:** "If you keep doing this, we'll force you."
SCP-9232 looked toward him.
Every firearm in the immediate area was removed from its owner's control and dropped onto the floor simultaneously.
No weapon was directed toward SCP-9232.
She then said:
> "Try."
The officer immediately apologized.
SCP-9232 released control of the personnel present.
Rule 07 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.8 — Incident Log 08: "Auntie"
**Subject:** Revision of Rule 03
At 10:34, the family of a Level 3 staff member was granted permission to use Site-██'s recreational area.
An eight-year-old girl became separated from her family for approximately three minutes.
She entered the indoor botanical garden adjacent to SCP-9232's quarters and found SCP-9232 sitting alone.
The child approached her.
> **Child:** "Auntie?"
SCP-9232 raised her head.
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes?"
The child pointed toward SCP-9232's veil.
> **Child:** "Why do you always wear that?"
SCP-9232 did not answer.
The child continued.
> **Child:** "What's underneath it?"
Security personnel began moving toward the area.
Contrary to previous incidents, SCP-9232 showed no hostile response.
Instead, she smiled.
This was the first confirmed instance of SCP-9232 displaying a smile since containment.
SCP-9232 lowered herself to the child's eye level.
> **SCP-9232:** "You're curious?"
The child nodded.
> **Child:** "Yeah."
> **SCP-9232:** "That's alright."
The child then asked:
> **Child:** "Can I see?"
SCP-9232 shook her head.
> **SCP-9232:** "No."
> **Child:** "Oh. Okay."
The child then walked away.
No anomalous activity occurred.
SCP-9232 continued smiling for approximately 19 seconds.
### Conclusion
The Foundation concluded that the original interpretation of Rule 03 was incomplete.
SCP-9232 does not appear to object to the question itself.
She objects to questions asked with the intention of violating her privacy, humiliating her, forcing her, or deliberately attempting to see her face without permission.
The incident also demonstrated that SCP-9232 responds positively to genuine, respectful curiosity.
The rule has therefore been revised to:
> **"Do not ask about what lies beneath SCP-9232's veil with malicious, mocking, coercive, or invasive intent."**
For simplicity, personnel are still advised not to ask about the veil unless SCP-9232 explicitly permits the subject.

# Addendum 9232.9 — Incident Log 09: 12:00
At 12:03, SCP-9232 abruptly stopped speaking to Dr. ███████.
She walked toward the wooden cross.
SCP-9232 then used her own anomalous abilities to position her body against the cross.
The event lasted approximately 47 minutes.
During the event, SCP-9232 repeatedly spoke to an unidentified individual.
> "I've come."
Pause.
> "I'm sorry."
Pause.
> "I know."
Pause.
> "Please..."
The remainder of the sentence was inaudible.
At 12:50, SCP-9232 released herself from the cross.
She sat on the floor for approximately twelve seconds.
She then said:
> "I'm hungry."
The incident was subsequently classified as a recurring behavioral anomaly rather than an attempted escape or hostile event.
---
# Addendum 9232.10 — Incident Log 10: Medical Examination
Foundation medical personnel were permitted to perform a limited examination of SCP-9232.
The results were unusual.
SCP-9232 possesses a functioning cardiovascular system, normal respiration, normal body temperature, and conventional human responses to pain.
Her blood and tissue samples are consistent with human biology.
Genetic comparison produced a partial match with historical records belonging to a woman reported dead more than a century ago.
When shown the records, SCP-9232 identified the woman as herself.
> **Dr. █████:** "Is this you?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Dr. █████:** "You're aware that she died?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Dr. █████:** "Then what are you?"
>
> SCP-9232 remained silent.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "A woman who woke up."
---
# Addendum 9232.11 — Incident Log 11: "Mrs."
A newly assigned researcher entered SCP-9232's quarters without knocking.
> **Researcher:** "Hey, you."
SCP-9232 did not respond.
> **Researcher:** "Stand up. We need to talk."
SCP-9232 stood.
The living organisms inside the room immediately began moving toward the exit.
The researcher attempted to step backward but was unable to control his legs.
> **Researcher:** "Wait!"
SCP-9232 spoke calmly.
> **SCP-9232:** "You don't know how to speak to a woman."
> **Researcher:** "I'm sorry, Mrs."
SCP-9232 stopped.
> **SCP-9232:** "Better."
The researcher regained control.
Rule 08 was established following this incident.
---
# Addendum 9232.12 — Incident Log 12: An Unnecessary Lie
A psychologist told SCP-9232 that he would return shortly after retrieving a document.
He returned three hours later.
Upon his return, SCP-9232 said:
> "You weren't planning to come back soon."
> **Psychologist:** "I did come back."
> **SCP-9232:** "After three hours."
> **Psychologist:** "I didn't lie."
SCP-9232 tilted her head.
> **SCP-9232:** "You said 'shortly'."
The psychologist remained silent.
SCP-9232 then laughed quietly.
No punishment occurred.
The incident demonstrated that SCP-9232 appears capable of distinguishing literal truth from deliberate deception.
---
# Addendum 9232.13 — Incident Log 13: Containment Proposal
The Site Containment Committee proposed installing an automated locking mechanism capable of permanently sealing SCP-9232's quarters during emergencies.
The proposal was read to SCP-9232.
> **SCP-9232:** "You will lock me inside?"
>
> **Dr. █████:** "Only if necessary."
>
> **SCP-9232:** "No."
>
> **Dr. █████:** "Why?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Because I will leave."
> **Dr. █████:** "How?"
SCP-9232 remained silent.
Several hundred birds outside Site-██ suddenly took flight simultaneously.
All moved in the same direction.
SCP-9232 looked toward the window.
> **SCP-9232:** "Don't make me show you."
The proposal was rejected.
---
# Addendum 9232.14 — Incident Log 14: "I Am Not a Monster"
SCP-9232 was found reading a historical book.
> **Dr. ███████:** "Do you consider yourself a monster?"
SCP-9232 turned a page.
> **SCP-9232:** "No."
> **Dr. ███████:** "Even with what you can do?"
> **SCP-9232:** "Ability doesn't decide what someone is."
> **Dr. ███████:** "Then what does?"
SCP-9232 closed the book.
> **SCP-9232:** "Choice."
> **Dr. ███████:** "Do you regret hurting people?"
SCP-9232 looked down at her hands.
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
> **Dr. ███████:** "How many?"
SCP-9232 did not answer.
---
# Addendum 9232.15 — Incident Log 15: The Truth
At 11:42, Dr. ████████ requested permission to ask SCP-9232 several personal questions.
Permission was granted.
> **Dr. ████████:** "Mrs. 9232, are you human?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Were you once an ordinary human?"
>
> SCP-9232 nodded.
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Are you dead?"
>
> SCP-9232 remained silent for sixteen seconds.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "How did you die?"
>
> SCP-9232's fingers tightened around the edge of her sleeve.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "The cross."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Were you afraid?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Do you remember what happened afterward?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "I opened my eyes."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Where?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "The same place."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Were you alone?"
>
> SCP-9232 paused.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "No."
>
> **Dr. ████████:** "Who was there?"
>
> SCP-9232 immediately stood.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Don't."
The interview was terminated.

# Addendum 9232.21 — Psychological Assessment
**From:** Dr. ███████, Department of Psychology
> "For most of our initial research, we made the same mistake."
>
> "We saw SCP-9232's abilities before we saw the person possessing them."
>
> "We saw the mind control, the unknown range, the potential threat, and the containment problem."

# Addendum 9232.22 — Final Note
At 23:47, Site-██ night security received an audio transmission from SCP-9232's quarters.
> **Guard:** "Mrs. 9232?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes?"
>
> **Guard:** "Are you still awake?"
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Yes."
>
> **Guard:** "May I ask you something?"
>
> Pause.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "If you're polite."
>
> **Guard:** "Are you happy here?"
>
> No response was recorded for 31 seconds.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "Sometimes."
>
> **Guard:** "Is that enough?"
>
> SCP-9232 remained silent.
>
> **SCP-9232:** "For now."
The transmission ended.
At 23:49, SCP-9232 resumed reading.
The hallway camera recorded no anomalous activity.
For the first time since containment, SCP-9232 was recorded quietly laughing to herself.

"Do not ask about what lies beneath SCP-9232's veil with malicious, mocking, coercive, or invasive intent."
Permanently banned, PM sent.
