Noting that new site member
DrTemporalis (account age 25 days, site membership 24 days) recently coldposted the following page, which has multiple indicators of AI-generation:
https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-9261 (of note, the same text is in a sandbox page: https://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/drtemporalis)
Item #: SCP-9261
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9261 is to be stored in a standard anomaly storage locker at Site-19. Under no circumstances is the object to be plugged into a power outlet unless specifically authorized for testing by Dr. Temporalis.
Description: SCP-9261 is a standard plastic electric desk fan, manufactured in 2010. Structural and physical analysis shows no immediate non-anomalous deviations from standard commercial models of its era.
SCP-9261 operates normally when set to speed levels 1 and 2. However, when set to speed level 3, the airflow generated by the object causes a localized spatial-temporal tear on the vertical surface directly in front of it, creating a portal leading to an unidentified dimension designated SCP-9261-A.
Within SCP-9261-A, a humanoid entity designated SCP-9261-1 appears. While physically resembling a human, SCP-9261-1 is unable or unwilling to exit the portal boundary. The entity possesses an auditory cognitohazard: its voice exhibits an unusually soothing and persuasive quality, which it utilizes to actively manipulate personnel into entering the portal.
All test subjects (D-Class personnel) who have entered the portal have resulted in an immediate loss of radio communication and tracking signals.
Addendum 9261-1: Experiment Log
**Lead Researcher:** Dr. Temporalis
**Subject:** D-9872
**Test Target:** SCP-9261
**[BEGIN LOG]**
**Dr. Temporalis:** D-9872, please turn on the fan to speed setting 1.
**D-9872:** Copy that. Fan is running on setting 1.
**Dr. Temporalis:** Understood. Please proceed to setting 2.
**D-9872:** Done. Nothing unusual.
**Dr. Temporalis:** Switch to setting 3.
**D-9872:** Setting 3 activated. *(Pauses)* Wait a second… what is this dark void? Who is that?
**Dr. Temporalis:** D-9872, turn off the fan immediately. I repeat, power down the fan right now!
**D-9872:** Whoever this person is… they're calling out to me. I can't resist the urge to go inside.
**Dr. Temporalis:** Do not listen to whatever is in there! *(At this point, main power to the testing chamber was manually cut to deactivate the fan).*
**D-9872:** Goodbye, Doctor.
**[END LOG]**
**Post-Test Summary:** D-9872 stepped into the portal and could not be retrieved. Following the power cutoff, the spatial tears generated by SCP-9261 closed automatically after 5 minutes, leaving no trace of the anomaly's presence.
> **Dr. Temporalis' Note:** SCP-9261 itself does not display aggressive intent, but the cognitohazard generated at speed setting 3 poses an extreme risk of personnel loss. The fact that the entity knows subject names and targets psychological vulnerabilities suggests a high level of awareness. Further testing is suspended indefinitely until effective auditory shielding can be developed.
