This is the voting thread for the official creation of the Promotions Team (PT), while previously detailed in the thread, this voting thread will serve to establish the function, structure, and purview of the team, as well as clarify certain aspects of the previous proposal.
Function
PT will be the primary team responsible for recruiting new jstaff and handling promotions.
The current duties the Promotions Team will shoulder upon its creation are listed below:
- PT members will monitor staff recruitment threads for new candidates.
- PT members will speak with Team Sub/Captains in order to acquire a list of questions they want potential recruits to answer.
- PT members will be required to be familiar with Team Sub/Captains.
- PT members will ping Team Sub/Captains in a new channel in Staffcord, creating a new thread for the candidate where the Sub/Captains will discuss and ultimately approve/deny the candidate.
- PT members will communicate with new jstaff members and invite them to Staffcord.
- PT members will provide new jstaff members with the usual orientation given to every new jstaffer by Nico.
- PT members will be in charge of gathering promotion candidates and tallying votes. This is a former MAST responsibility, and for the purposes of smoothing things over,
Deadly Bread has joined PT to continue their work.
Structure
PT will operate with a hierarchical sub-team organization. Each primary duty will be made into a small team, with a single section leader.
Internal Communications, led by Uncle Nicolini, will ensure that the sub/team captains are responding to queries as well as performing a tri-yearly (at the same time as promotions happen) check-in with sub/team captains to ensure their questions for perspective recruits are accurate.
Internal Promotions, led by Deadly Bread, will, as the name implies, handle promotions within staff. JS to OS, OS to Admin, etc.
External Recruitment, led by DrBleep1, will be in charge of compiling the new potential staffers as they appear on the threads. They will additionally be in charge of onboarding new jstaff.
The captain of this team will be myself, and the VCs will be DrBleep and
Deadly Bread.
