Description
SCP-8693 is a text document of unknown origin currently stored as a plain .txt file.
The document appears empty when initially opened. However, after approximately ten minutes, text begins to appear one sentence at a time.
The anomalous property of SCP-8693 is that the document always generates a detailed account of future events concerning the reader. The predictions are highly accurate, with a recorded success rate of 99.98%.
The generated narrative describes the subject’s life chronologically, including conversations, actions, and decisions that have not yet occurred.
Testing has demonstrated that events described by SCP-8693 begin occurring within twenty-four hours of first exposure.
Attempts to intentionally avoid predicted events result in circumstances that redirect the subject toward the documented outcome.
The narrative terminates at a specific point. Beyond this point, no further text is generated.
Discovery
SCP-8693 was recovered in 2018 from an abandoned public library in ███████, Ohio.
Foundation agents were alerted after multiple reports of individuals accurately predicting future events before suffering severe psychological distress.
A laptop recovered from the location contained SCP-8693 as its sole file.
No information regarding its creator has been recovered.

Procedure: Subject exposed to SCP-8693.
Results:
The document generated an account describing the subject spilling coffee on a researcher at 14:32.
The subject was informed of the prediction beforehand and instructed to remain seated.
At 14:31, a nearby ceiling panel detached unexpectedly. The subject stood to avoid injury and collided with a researcher, causing the predicted coffee spill.
Prediction confirmed.
Experiment Log 8693-F
Subject: Researcher Halden
Procedure: Long-term exposure.
Results:
After six days of reading SCP-8693, Halden became increasingly withdrawn.
The generated text accurately described Foundation meetings, weather conditions, and private conversations.
On Day 7, SCP-8693 ceased generating new content.
The final sentence read:
“You have reached the final page.”
No additional text appeared.
Researcher Halden experienced severe anxiety and requested reassignment.
Addendum 8693-3
In 2022, a Foundation attempt was made to determine the limits of SCP-8693’s predictive capabilities.
Dr. Phoenix was instructed to continuously read the document until generation ceased.
After eleven days, SCP-8693 produced the following final paragraph:
“You will close this file and report your findings. Four minutes later, someone will ask why this document ends here.”
According to surveillance footage, the prediction occurred exactly as written.
The individual who asked the question was Junior Researcher Lang.
When questioned, Lang stated he had no intention of speaking and did not know why he had done so.

On 14/09/2024, SCP-8693 generated a previously unrecorded final sentence during routine testing.
