On June 12th, users Kanie Ja, ycn-little_sheep, jw1122, Jerry346, and DVA24 were found to have participated in coordinated voting patterns and likely brigading against specific Pridefest featured works. The users' membership was revoked to protect the integrity of the works. Staff is currently investigating the voting patterns of other users as well with respect to these and other works.

Noting for records-keeping that I received the following message from DVA24:

Hello. I believe my rating of this work wasn't based on the fact that it's a Pride Month piece. In fact, I've rated the Pride Month event page and several other works with LGBT tags in the past. If you review my past posts, you'll find I've never made any statements against the LGBT community.

My negative review was based on the plot and character development. You may have noticed that another person who was removed from the membership, Kanie Ja, previously commented on it, and I expressed my agreement under her comment. That comment itself focused on the shortcomings of the plot and character development, rather than simply saying, "This character is LGBT, so I gave it a bad review."

Regarding the group malicious voting described in the penalty record, I don't believe I'm part of "a group maliciously targeting LGBT groups." I saw that work, read it, and rated it purely because it was featured on the homepage.

My activity level on this site is indeed much lower compared to other sites, but if you review my past rating history on this site, you'll find I have a large number of ratings.

For the reasons mentioned above, I believe that my negative review of this work is a personal decision and is based on the work itself, rather than on any discriminatory factors against LGBT individuals.

Thank you for the message; I've forwarded it to staff and it will be retained for records-keeping. Looking closer at the case, since you were not issued a ban, you shouldn't need to submit an appeal to rejoin the site. As of now, you should be able to submit another application to rejoin whenever you wish (if you are receiving the "already applied" error, please follow the instructions on the Join the Site page to remove the prior application so you can submit a new one).

ETA: user later re-applied for membership and rejoined the site today.
