**Item #:** SCP-9927
**Clearance Level 3:** Confidential
**Object Class:** Euclid
**Disruption Class:** 2/Vlam
**Risk Class:** 2/Caution
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-9927 is contained within Site-44. Its primary containment chamber measures 12m x 18m and is furnished with a couch and a coffee table positioned directly facing SCP-9927. One wall of the chamber consists of a reinforced one-way observation window for monitoring purposes.
SCP-9927 shall be isolated from any of Site-44's external networks. No wireless, wired, or indirect signal capable devices are permitted within 20 meters of SCP-9927 unless explicitly authorized for testing purposes
All input shall be on-site issued, single use, data drives that once used will be given to a researcher and placed immediately into a biohazard-grade containment digital containment unit and transferred to the on-site Cybersecurity Research Division for analysis. Under no circumstances shall the device be inputted into any on-site Foundation network, or external system.
Personnel interacting with SCP-9927 shall be placed under digital quarantine both before and after exposure. This includes the use of air-gapped terminals and full system wipes of any equipment used during experimentation.
Due to the memetic or cognitohazardous potential of SCP-9927's output, all visual feed from the observation room must pass through a minimum 3-second delay filter and automated anomaly-detection software. In the event of unauthorized visual or data output, the chamber is to be immediately sealed and power to SCP-9927 cut via external breakers.
No attempt is to be made to connect SCP-9927 to live networks, including but not limited to the internet, intranet systems, or satellite communication arrays, under any circumstances.
In the event of a confirmed digital breach originating from SCP-9927 , Site-44 is to initiate Protocol BLACKSCREEN: immediate shutdown of all non-essential systems, severance of external communications, and physical disconnection of all data infrastructure until containment integrity is reestablished.
**Description:** SCP-9927 appears to be an early 2000's TV with all manufacturing labels removed. The TV has a power button, but being pressed does seemingly nothing at all. The TV is capable of displaying whatever is inputted, but upon closer inspection any files on the device being plugged into the TV is corrupted immediately and a virus is released onto the device.
The corruption does not appear to be limited to a single file type, as text documents, images, audio files, and executable programs are all affected regardless of the device used. In most cases, the affected device will begin experiencing severe performance degradation within seconds of connection, followed by repeated application crashes, unprompted system reboots, or complete failure to access stored data. The anomalous virus released by SCP-9927 has not been successfully classified by standard containment software, as it appears to alter its own code structure during each attempted scan.
When SCP-9927 is powered on without an input device attached, the screen typically remains black or displays a low-resolution gray static pattern. However, when a device is connected, the TV will briefly display a clean signal before the corruption begins. Audio output, if enabled, is limited to faint bursts of static, distorted speech, or unidentified tones. Attempts to open the television casing have revealed no obvious abnormalities in its internal components, though all recovered hardware has shown extensive unexplained data loss after removal.
Further testing has shown that SCP-9927 does not appear to “receive” input in a conventional sense, but instead copies and reinterprets the contents of the connected device through an unknown process. The resulting corruption is often inconsistent, with some files becoming unreadable while others remain visually intact but contain altered metadata, missing data blocks, or duplicated content. In several cases, the device connected to SCP-9927 has continued functioning normally for a short period before suddenly transmitting the anomalous virus to any accessible storage media or network connection.
**Addendum 1423-1: Initial Discovery** SCP-9927 was discovered in the residential home in ███████, Ohio following multiple reports of electronic device failure within a 2-block radius. Local Civilians have reported devices such as, gaming consoles, computers, phones,, all becoming permanently inoperable after black screening and producing a loud static noise after connecting to recently purchased televisions.
Foundation agents embedded withing local Police traced the anomaly back to a pawn shop. The owner of the pawn shop insisted that the TV was sold to them by a unidentified individual claiming it will "sell itself." The unidentified individual has not been located
Initial containment happened after 2 Foundation-issued laptops suffered total data corruption during testing. One of the laptops continued transmitting fragments of data for approximately 17 minutes after physical destruction.
**Addendum 1424-2: Testing logs**
Test 4325-01
Input: Standard MP4 video file
Result: Video begins normal playback for approximately 3 seconds before severe visual distortion occurs. File becomes unrecoverable on original storage device. Device subsequently executes unknown background processes until forcibly shut down.
Test 5745-04
Input: Blank storage drive
Result: SCP-9927 displays static. After ~12 seconds, faint shapes resembling a user interface appear. Drive is corrupted despite containing no prior data. Post-test analysis reveals the presence of non-standard file structures that cannot be accessed or deleted.
Test 9807-09
Input: Foundation database excerpt (Class-D personnel records)
Result: SCP-9927 displays accurate records initially. After ~5 seconds, entries begin to alter in real time, replacing data with unknown symbols. Several personnel listed in the document were later found to have minor discrepancies in their official records. Investigation ongoing.
Test 1254-12
Input: Air-gapped terminal via analog signal converter
Result: SCP-9927 displays the terminal interface. Despite lack of direct data connection, the terminal experiences system failure. Subsequent forensic analysis indicates the presence of identical anomalous code observed in previous tests.
**Addendum 7623-3: Incident Log**
Incident 1256-A “Black Frame”
On ██/██/20██, during routine observation, SCP-9927 activated without input.
The screen displayed a completely black image for approximately 47 seconds. During this time, all monitoring equipment in the observation room experienced temporary desynchronization.
At timestamp 00:48, white text appeared on SCP-9927 reading:
//“YOU LEFT IT CONNECTED”//
Immediately following this, three air-gapped monitoring systems in the observation room began executing unauthorized processes. Containment personnel initiated emergency shutdown procedures.
Post-incident analysis revealed that a single unauthorized device—a personal smartwatch—had been brought within 15 meters of SCP-9927 by Researcher █████. The device was later found to be non-functional and continued emitting low-power signals despite complete battery removal.
Protocol BLACKSCREEN was enacted. No further breaches detected.
Addendum 0942-4: Recovered Data Fragment
The following text was recovered from a corrupted drive used in Test 5745-04. No known method has successfully accessed the full contents of the file:
//“input received
input understood
input becomes part of system//
//you are not watching

**Addendum 4356-5: Researcher Notes**
“This thing doesn’t just corrupt data, it replaces it. It’s not breaking devices, it’s using them. Every time we plug something in, we’re giving it more structure, more context. I don’t think the ‘virus’ is a byproduct. I think it’s the point.”
— Dr. ███████
“We need to stop thinking of SCP-9927 as a television. It behaves more like an interface…or maybe a translator. The question is, what is it translating for?”

**Item #:** SCP-XXXX
**Threat Level:** Red [[span class="pastille rouge"]]●[[/span]]
**Object Class:** Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 10x10x10m reinforced chamber within Site-██. The chamber must be constructed in a one way, reflective glass coated with a non-conductive polymer coating to prevent cross-contamination between SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects.
Access to SCP-XXXX is only permitted to personnel who have level 4 or higher clearance and no more than two individuals at a time shall enter SCP-XXXX's chamber. All personnel entering SCP-XXX's containment chamber shall be fitted with anti-reflective goggles, non-reflective clothing, and shall not make direct eye contact with SCP-XXXX's reflection.
SCP-XXXX is to be monitored through a live camera feed, through a one way glass. All footage is to be stored on a encrypted storage device with restricted access. Any observed attempts by SCP-XXXX to breach containment are to be immediately reported, and Level 4 Mobile Task Force Eta-9 "Mirrorbreakers" will respond to contain any anomaly propagation.
Maintenance personnel are required to replace the chamber's reflective surfaces every 30 days to prevent the accumulation of anomalous "image residue" which can enhance SCP-XXXX's cognitive influence. Failure to adhere to containment protocols will result in immediate disciplinary review and potential quarantine of affected staff.
**Description:** SCP-XXXX appears as a floating humanoid silhouette composed of entirely, moving reflective fractures. When observed in mirrors, windows, or anything with a reflective surface SCP-XXXX can use its reflective nature to alter the individuals' perceptions, creating illusions and compelling actions that often lead to severe, and permanent psychological trauma which leads to the individual ending their own life.
SCP-XXXX appears to partially live outside of normal reality, and its full form cannot be captured by cameras, or mirrors without heavy distortion. It is highly intelligent, capable of planning complex containment breach attempts using any reflective surface. Attempts to communicate with SCP-XXXX have ended with catastrophic breaches

**Item #:** SCP-9233
**Object Class:** Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-9233 is contained in Site-██, Wing Beta (Class-IV Memetic Containment Zone). Its primary chamber is a reinforced Faraday vault lined with soundproofing and antimemetic decals. All live instrumentation (cameras, audio feeds, digital comms) is forbidden; any monitoring is strictly analog-to-ink transcription, and every copy of data must be shredded and incinerated immediately (no digital storage). Interaction with SCP-9233 (object or data) is limited to devices inside a locked “Safe Viewing Terminal” – a Faraday-caged computer with no network access – and always requires two Level-4 memetics officers present.
Personnel: Access requires Level 4 clearance or higher and Metamemetics Division certification. All staff working near SCP-9233 must undergo weekly psychological screening and carry portable cognitohazard dampers. No personnel under 30 years old (high neuroplasticity) may participate in containment or testing. Only Foundation psychologists may certify handlers; after any direct contact, affected personnel are sedated and given Class-D amnestics in accordance with memetic-hazard protocols.
Cell Security: The containment suite has triple-locked blast doors and is guarded around-the-clock by two Level-4 security teams armed with both lethal and energetically-pulsed weapons. The chamber is mounted on load cells to ensure SCP-9233 cannot be moved or removed. Under no circumstances is SCP-9233 allowed to leave its chamber. Any unauthorized approach or breach attempt results in the deployment of lockdown (Lockdown Response Code Ω) and immediate sector purge (Protocol-Override “Nemesis Field”: demolition charges and Area-denial flamethrowers, as per SCP-589 precedent).
Memetic Countermeasures: All written or recorded mentions of SCP-9233 are suppressed. Mention of its name is autocensored in Foundation databases (analogous to “coded ██████”). Personnel who accidently view data tied to SCP-9233 must be quarantined and administered high-grade amnestics. WebCrawler scripts scan global data streams for emerging copies; any discovered media is confiscated and cleansed. International Foundation posts coordinate to cancel or rewrite public projects showing traces of SCP-9233's influence (as was done with SCP-4848).
Emergency Protocols: Containment breach immediately triggers Lockdown Level-Ω. On trigger, the Security Director broadcasts Code Black: Facility should seal all internal doors (as per standard lockdown manuals) and Mobile Task Force Epsilon-11 (“Nine-Tailed Fox”) deploys to the scene. Automated memetic-suppression fields engage (AMIs) to neutralize SCP-9233's influence, and Class-III memetic kill agents are released if personnel exposure is confirmed. Any breach of the outer cell leads to site-wide evacuation of non-essential personnel and incendiary purge of the containment wing.
**Description:** SCP-9233 is a multidimensional parasitic entity that appears in our reality via electronic/visual media and sensory perception. Visually, it takes no fixed form; it typically manifests in dreams or recordings as a charred-black humanoid silhouette with featureless face and glowing eyes, often whispering enigma-laden speech. Whether physical or digital, any depiction of SCP-9233 carries an anomalous cognitohazard. Subjects who see or hear SCP-9233 (even in dreams) immediately enter a trance state, becoming increasingly suggestible and obsessive about the entity’s demands.
The effect is two-fold:
Memetic Infection: Upon exposure, the subject experiences euphoria and claims to “understand” some grand cosmic purpose (analogous to SCP-589’s calming addiction). Within 24–48 hours, they become zealously devoted to fulfilling SCP-9233's commands. Behavioral changes include compulsive self-casting of new “copies” of SCP-9233 (e.g. paintings, voice memos, coded text), and recruitment of others to view the original or copies. Effectively, the anomaly propagates like a memetic virus: the more it is copied or transmitted, the wider it spreads – reminiscent of SCP-2456’s theology-propagation phase. Importantly, while under influence, subjects exhibit temporary immunity to other memetic effects, as if SCP-9233's own memes override competitors.
Reality Predation: After approximately 3–5 days of memetic dormancy, the “carrier” subject undergoes rapid physical transformation. Internal organs decay visibly (while scalp burns appear), and massive exhalations of black smoke occur. At termination of this cycle, SCP-9233 materializes from the subject’s body as a corporeal predator (this process is fatal to the host). The manifested SCP-9233 is capable of walking through solid matter (phasing), rapid regeneration, and instant telepathic awareness of any nearby human observer. It hunts targets by projecting harrowing visions of itself into victims’ minds. Survivors of encounters either commit suicide or end up spreading the infection, similar to the “whole populations slaughtering each other” events documented with SCP-589.
Hypotheses: The origin of SCP-9233 is unknown. Some researchers draw parallels to urban legend demigods or infohazard entities (cf. SCP-2317’s thaumiel-level ritual containment) – possibly a thoughtform given life through global digital networks. The copy-self-concealing pattern suggests SCP-9233 is aware of being studied (as if it actively hides its nature, like SCP-4848’s “self-concealing normalcy”). Certain lore fragments hint it may be the psychic remnant of a long-deceased cult leader “the Black Prophet,” but confirmation is pending. Foundation linguists note cryptic five-point star symbols often appear in the imagery (similar to memetic patterns in SCP-2456-1 scripture). In short, it may be an extradimensional predator that uses cognition as both weapon and portal.
**Addendum A - Incident Reports:** Incident 01: (20██/07/12): A D-class technician viewing a digitized copy of SCP-9233's image required resuscitation. During awakening, he exhibited extreme vitriol toward fellow staff. Cameras captured him spontaneously slamming his head into the monitor displaying SCP-9233, shattering it. Five minutes later he collapsed, summoning multiple phantasmal silhouettes that stalked the wing. Nearby personnel required emergency amnestic administration. See Transcript: “I see him in the corner… Tastes like ashes.” (Data erased). Following this, a revised protocol forbade all high-definition copies.
Incident 02: (20██/10/05): A security camera malfunction allowed a corrupted CCTV tape containing SCP-9233 to be played in the control room. Two Level-3 guards (Fox and Barnes) viewed a 17-second clip. Both immediately clutched their head and began violently tearing at walls. Within 10 seconds, fire alarms activated as the camera lens shattered. MTF Sigma-3 (“Voodoo Boys”) was dispatched. On arrival, the guards had mysteriously died of self-inflicted skull fractures. Both had repeatedly screamed “He demands sacrifice.” The control room was destroyed in subsequent automatic suppression. Discovered note (after incident): “Show no face… or he will eat your soul.”
Incident 03: (20██/12/19): A stray copy of SCP-9233 (a newspaper photostat) was found in the parking lot by a cat. The animal later returned, limping and lifeless, with blood around its mouth. A surviving witness claimed it “whispered” to him at night. He was detained; interview (see Addendum B) indicated he carved a five-pointed star pattern around his TV antenna. He was subsequently amnesticized and institutionalized.
**Addendum B - Test Logs Excerpts:** D-Class personnel were subjected to controlled exposure to SCP-9233 under supervision. All tests require three observers with Class-B amnestic authorization on standby.
Test B-12: D-105 watches a 30-second loop of SCP-9233 projected on a non-digital screen. Result: D-105 enters trance after 12s, ignoring stimuli. After 35s he whispers incomprehensibly and attempts to flee the room; tasered down at 42s, but brain scan shows new “echo” patterns. Post-test: subject refuses to eat unless shown the image. Amnestic treatment returned D-105 to baseline with no memory of content (tests suspended on Day 3 when D-105 began demonic murmuring uncontrollably).
Test B-15: A panel of vision scientists attempted to analyze an analog film (development restricted). All five subjects reported “symbolic fever” before wiping their scans with their own hands. EEGs registered theta spikes; subjects needed sedation. Conclusion: direct analysis of imagery triggers severe neural feedback loops.
Test B-19: Infrared viewing of SCP-9233 through closed-circuit showed distorted heat signatures. A newly developed memetic filter (lens + sigil overlay) delayed cognitive onset by ~5s, but could not eliminate effects entirely. Research continues on antipathy fields and dream inoculation (cf. CDC memetic inoculation methods).
**Addendum C - Containment Breach Timeline:**
Breach progression and response flow. Following a breach of SCP-9233 containment (B), exposed personnel (C) trigger an immediate Level-Ω lockdown (D) as per standard procedures. MTFs are dispatched (E), activating antimemetic fields and sealing affected zones (F). If containment is regained, casualties are dealt with and the area is cleansed. If the entity escapes containment, protocols escalate: the containment wing is incinerated (I) and the entire facility goes into emergency lockdown (J). After crisis, specialized remediation teams scrub the site (K) before resuming standard operations.
**Addendum D - Interviews:** **Interview Log 1**
**Interviewed:** D-105
**Interviewer:** Dr. ████
**Foreword:** Subject was exposed to a low-resolution image of SCP-9233 during Test B-12.
**[Begin Log]**
Dr. ████: State what you saw.
D-105: I saw a person made out of the dark between the lights.
Dr. ████: Did it speak?
D-105: Not like a voice. More like… a thought that didn’t belong to me.
Dr. ████: What did it say?
D-105: That it was already in the room. That it had been there before the camera turned on.
Dr. ████: Did you feel compelled to do anything?
D-105: I wanted to look again. I still do.
**[End Log]**
**Closing Statement:** Subject required sedation after beginning to scratch repeated five-point patterns into the interview table.
**Interview Log 2**
**Interviewed:** Agent ██████
**Interviewer:** Dr. █████
**Foreword:** Interview conducted after Agent ██████ survived direct contact with SCP-9233 residue.
**[Begin Log]**
Dr. █████: Describe the residue.
Agent ██████: It wasn’t ash. It moved when I wasn’t looking right at it.
Dr. █████: Did you hear anything from the containment chamber?
Agent ██████: Yes. The same thing the others heard.
Dr. █████: And what was that?
Agent ██████: That it doesn’t want to be contained. It wants to be remembered.
Dr. █████: Did you believe it?
Agent ██████: For about ten seconds. Then I realized that was the part it wanted.
**[End Log]**
**Closing Statement:** Agent ██████ was transferred to psychological observation. All audio from the chamber was deleted after the interview.
**Personnel and Clearances:**
Clearance Level: Min. Level 4 “Amaranth” for all on-site staff; only Level 5 (O5) can order containment changes.
Special Training: Mandatory metamemetics and cognitohazard defense courses. Handlers must have Psionic Resistance Index ≥30. A rotating team of Foundation psychologists conducts daily mental health checks; signs of “Narrative Degradation Syndrome” (NDS) lead to immediate suspension from duty.
Civilians: No civilian contractors; all maintenance and research is done by credentialed Foundation personnel. Inter-site communication requires cryptographic protocols; written memos use cipher keys that auto-erase if unauthorized personnel attempt access.
Protocol Drills: Quarterly simulated breaches (Code “Specter Hunt”) are held to train staff, using inert infohazards.
**Emergency Response Procedures:** Upon any indication of exposure or breach:
Sound Alarm: Loudspeakers activate, broadcast warning tones (psychologically calibrated to repel entity effects).
Lockdown: Facility enters emergency shutdown. Doors auto-lock; environmental controls switch to sealed mode. (This follows the Foundation Lockdown Manual.)
Deploy MTF: MTF Epsilon-11 (“Nine-Tailed Fox”) responds immediately. They are equipped with analog comms and cognitohazard-neutralizing weaponry.
Amnestics Dispensed: All survivors and exposed individuals are given parenteral amnestics (Class B to Class III, depending on exposure). If epidemic levels are imminent, mobab-like protocol is pre-approved.
Casualty Containment: Infected bodies are incinerated in-situ. In advance, explosive charges are primed around the cell for instant demolition if the entity gains full escape momentum.
Command Chain: Communications to the O5 Council and Site Command use code “Lockstep” to ensure full transparency and immediate replenishment of resources (a necessity cited in prior memetic incidents).
**Neutralization and Mitigation Strategies** Long-term countermeasures are speculative but include:
Cognitohazard Vaccination: Research into counter-memes or cognitive immunization (e.g. Foundation Project Athena studies) is ongoing. Concept: inoculate high-risk personnel with curated memetic anchors.
Selective Amnesticization: Administer targeted amnestics to remove only the part of memory linked to SCP-9233's influence, preserving other skills. This approach succeeded in halting SCP-2456’s spread temporarily
and is under trial here.
Information Suppression: Global media monitoring to suppress rumors (working with Interpol and Internet Coalition). As with SCP-4848, affected projects or media may be canceled or “allowed to run” depending on contamination level.
Psychic Dampeners: Experimentation with spatial anomaly tech to create a “cognition null-field” around the cell, akin to the radiological shielding in Site-██, aiming to block SCP-9233’s reality-bending.
Containment Adaption: Upgrading protocols based on incidents. For instance, after Incident 02, all surveillance footage now passes through analog filters (similar to Anti-Cognitohazard Gates in other high-risk sites).
No permanent neutralization is known; directives focus on interruption of propagation and destruction of physical instances. If SCP-9233 appears outside containment, Protocol Atropos is authorized: full decapitation of the infected area and mass amnestic campaign (a plan used in last-resort Keter containment, akin to how SCP-589 breach was handled).
**Conclusion:** SCP-9233 represents one of the Foundation’s most dangerous hybrid anomalies – a self-propagating infohazard with deadly physical enforcement. Its containment requires relentless diligence in physical security and anti-memetic discipline. Ongoing research into psychological countermeasures is a top priority.
All Foundation staff are reminded: “The only true control we have is our ignorance.” Vigilance and adherence to protocol are mandatory.
