**Item #:** SCP-8353
**Object Class:** Euclid
**Special Containment procedures:**
SCP-8353 is to be contained within a chamber measuring 3m x 3m x 3m in Site-19's level-3 containment wing, with constant observation and monitoring via electronic surveillance systems. The anomaly's containment chamber is to be sealed at all times, protected by at least two armed Foundation Personnel on rotating shifts.
Entry into SCP-8353's containment chamber shall be strictly restricted to authorized Class-D personnel, for testing purposes only. No subject may spend more than 3 hours under direct contact with the anomaly, due to prolonged exposure increasing manifestation intensity. Access to SCP-8353's containment chamber must be authorized by personnel holding a Level-3 clearance or higher.
**Description:**
SCP-8353 is an anomalous bed measuring 1.5m x 0.5m x 0.3m, covered by a baby blue mattress (allocated SCP-8353-2), and a pillow placed on top (allocated SCP-8353-3). Research into the anomaly's nature has revealed that SCP-8353-2 and SCP-8353-3 exhibit the same anomalous properties as SCP-8353.
SCP-8353 and its corresponding parts have failed to respond to physical alteration attempts. Alteration methods tried by the Foundation include but are not limited to- burning, corrosion, compression, and limited anomalous testing. Due to the unpredictable nature of SCP-8353’s manifestations, long term containment remains a primary Foundation concern.
SCP-8353 possesses the ability to manifest the dreams of anyone who sleeps in direct physical contact with it into physical objects/events with a 60 minute delay. It has been noted by Foundation researchers that subjects sleeping in contact with SCP-8353 experience a dream during their REM cycle without fail, however upon waking up the subject does not remember any details of the dream. This characteristic of the anomaly has made it unpredictable, and hence contact with the anomaly has been restricted to avoid a containment risk.
Manifestations caused by SCP-8353 are often physically unstable, demonstrating abrupt disappearance without a logical explanation. These properties are attributed to the cognitive structure of a human dream, instead of the anomaly's effect.
It is to note that subjects who have already experienced the effects of SCP-8353 and its corresponding parts once can not experience them again, due to a subsequent inability to sleep in contact with the Anomaly.
**Addendum 8353-1:** Incident Log
**Date:** 2/3/2021
After SCP-8353 was first discovered, Sr. Researcher Richard M. authorized Class-D-9816 to perform a routine test on the anomaly. D-9816 was instructed to spend the night sleeping on the anomaly, and report anything unusual. Although the experiment uncovered much of the anomaly's nature, the loss of Foundation personnel following the experiment lead to tests on SCP-8353 being temporarily banned.
**Log Excerpt:**
**[00:02:23]** D-9816 entered SCP-8353's containment chamber.
**[00:02:52]** Subject lay down on SCP-8353, coming in direct physical contact with it.
**[00:03:03]** Subject remarked that direct contact with the anomaly made them feel "dizzy." They subsequently fell into deep sleep almost instantaneously.
**[08:45:09]** After almost 9 hours of deep sleep, D-9816 woke up acutely, with visible signs of distress, while remarking - "//Where is the Dragon?!//"
**[08:52:46]** Upon being questioned about their experience with the anomaly, D-9816 stated - "//Well...uh... I had a dream. I don't remember anything, but i know it was a nightmare, it was scary.//"
**[09:53:22]** After approximately 60 minutes passing since D-9816 woke up, on site-alarms were activated, describing "A large draconic entity present in Sector-2."
**[10:01:57]** MTF Eta-10 "See No Evil" and MTF Lambda-12 "Pest Control" were deployed in an attempt to neutralize the unidentified anomaly.
**Notes:**
Following deployment, the Task Forces engaged in combat with a red scaly draconic entity, with the ability to breathe fire, and the possession of wings, although it was never recorded flying. The Task-Forces engaged in combat with the anomaly for 31 minutes. Subsequently after 31 minutes, the anomaly seemingly disappeared leaving behind no trace.
The situation was closely assessed, and it was hypothesized that SCP-8353's effect on D-9816 led to this encounter. This was later confirmed by following experiments.
Following this event, SCP-8353 was relocated to a level-3 clearance wing of the facility, with two armed Foundation personnel on rotating shifts always guarding its containment chamber.
Prolonged exposure to SCP-8353 (exceeding 3 hours) was also strictly prohibited, and any breach of this code would result in disciplinary action taken against the perpetrator.
**Addendum 8353-2:** Test Log
**Date:** 4/6/2022
Procedure: 3 Class-D personnel (D-9314, D-3467, D-8177) were instructed to sleep on one part of SCP-8353 respectively. They would be woken up after the 3 hour mark, to prevent escalation of the dreams of the subjects.
**Result:**
__1-__ D-9314 Slept in direct contact with SCP-8353. He fell asleep almost instantly as expected, and was woken up from his slumber after three hours. Upon waking up, the subject reported faint memories of a dream, but he referred to it as "//incomplete//", unable to recall any further details.
Approximately 60 minutes after D-9314 wakened, a strange anomalous humanoid entity was observed appearing into the room with no apparent cause. The entity was a mixture of frog and human, wearing a red tuxedo and referring to itself as "//Mr. Frog.//" Unlike all previous instances of manifestations caused by SCP-8353, Mr. Frog did not disappear, neither did it display any hostile behaviour. It was allocated SCP-8353-A, and is now kept under constant surveillance; although allowed limited movement within restricted areas of Site-19.
__2-__ D-3467 was instructed to sleep in direct contact with SCP-8353-2. Subject entered a deep REM state 3 hours before being abruptly woken up by Foundation personnel. Unlike most previous interactions with the anomaly, the subject awoke feeling rejuvenated. Approximately 60 minutes later, they disappeared with no apparent cause.
D-3467 was later traced living in an anomalous mansion in city [REDACTED] with no prior construction permits or ownership documents. Members of the Foundation's Mobile Task Force breached into the mansion and recovered D-3467 from inside of it, who showed reluctance to leave and attempted to evade Foundation personnel. Subsequently after the removal of D-3467 from the mansion, it disappeared completely; leaving no trace of a building ever existing in that location.
While exploring the insides of the mansion however, MTF operative J. R. Smith stated through the radio- "//This place makes no sense! We go down a hallway and next thing you know, its no longer there. We have procured D-3467, however we can't seem to find a logical way out!//"
__3-__ After being awoken from a 3 hour REM cycle in contact with SCP-8353-3, D-8177 demonstrated an acute agitation and heightened levels of alertness. When the subject was questioned about their behaviour, they stated that they experienced a "//nightmare//", but were unable to remember any details.
At [19:00:42] approximately 1 hour after initially being woken up, D-8177 started uncontrollably panicking, repeatedly stating "//he's here!//" - with no apparent cause. At [19:00:43], a large humanoid entity carrying a bladed weapon entered D-8177's isolation cell with no apparent means of entry. Upon seeing the entity, D-8177 screamed uncontrollably; followed by the entity terminating D-8177 using its bladed weapon before disappearing.
**Notes:**
SCP-8353 and all its corresponding parts exhibit the same anomalous effects. Following this controlled test, it is considered a strong possibility that the anomaly has the ability to create inconsistencies in space and time, and lead to the creation of other anomalous phenomenon.
It is also unclear to the Foundation whether the anomalous phenomenon manifested by SCP-8353 are actual results of the subject's dreams, as this cannot be verified due to the anomaly's amnestic effects.
**Addendum 8353-3:** Maternal Manifestation Event
**Date:** 8/9/2023
During an SCP-8353 exposure trial conducted on Class-D-[REDACTED], neural scans indicated heightened emotional response during REM sleep. The subject had previously disclosed the death of their mother years prior to testing.
Sixty minutes following awakening, an unexplained humanoid entity appeared inside D-[REDACTED]'s isolation cell. Subject repeatedly identified the anomaly as their mother, repeatedly attempting to make physical contact with the anomaly. When questioned by Foundation personnel regarding the entity's anomalous behaviour, D-[REDACTED] dismissed observed visual deformities insisting the manifestation was "//just sick//" and "//confused.//"
The entity displayed warped features, disproportionate limbs, and significant instability. These features were hypothesized to be caused by inconsistencies in D-[REDACTED]'s dream during REM sleep. However, the subject continued failing to acknowledge this, entering a state of deep emotional distress and subsequent depression when separated from the entity.
Following this event, psychological screening protocols for SCP-8353 testing were revised to exclude subjects with unresolved grief or strong emotional attachments associated with deceased individuals.Excerpts of note:
