**Item #**: SCP-78730
**Object Class**: Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:**
SCP-78730 is contained within an exclusion zone with reinforced alloy walls, and a highly hypoxic environment. Access to SCP-78730's Containment chamber is restricted only to authorized Class-D personnel. Direct verbal communication with SCP-78730 is strictly prohibited unless authorized for a test or de-escalation effort.
During periods where SCP-78730 enters an uncontrollable rage state, site oxygen levels are temporarily lowered to between 9%-11%. Armed Mobile Task Forces including Nu-7 and Elipson-11 are to remain on standby incase a breach is imminent.
**Description:**
SCP 78730 is a humanoid entity resembling a muscular, Mesoamerican male. It is estimated to be in it's late thirties, and stands at approximately 5 meters in height, weighing 1,270-1,360 kilograms. SCP-78730's body is covered by occult symbols and markings, many of these symbols resemble ancient Aztec symbols used in ritual warfare.
SCP-78730 demonstrates fluency in the ancient Nahuatl language, and often refers to itself as "Yaotl", translating to "warrior". Ultrasound and MRI tests have revealed that SCP-78730's internal organs, nervous system, and skeleton deeply resemble those of a human, however the anomaly displays no need for basic survival necessities such as sleep, nutrition, and hydration.
SCP-78730 is always equipped with a set of gold armour, and a bladed weapon of similar composition. The armor and weapon have also proved to be extremely durable, and inseparable from SCP-78730's body, hence they were allocated SCP-78730-2. Any physical damage sustained by SCP-78730-2 repairs itself within 2 hours-14 days depending on the severity of damage.
Neural scans using EEG and fMRI machines have revealed that SCP 78730 demonstrates basic cognitive ability, allowing SCP-78730 to reason on an elementary level, and experience basic emotions such as happiness, pride, sorrow, and anger. When engaged in conversation, SCP-78730 has demonstrated a rapid, and positive feedback, often recalling wars, battles, and enemies that he had fought, although the foundation has found no evidence supporting these claims.
All termination attempts for SCP-78730 till date have been unsuccessful, as the entity has constantly demonstrated the ability to withstand injuries that would have been fatal to regular humans, and even rapidly regenerate from these injuries, although the rate of regeneration varies and is heavily dependant on the severity of said injury(s).
Approximately once every 10-14 days, SCP-78730 enters an uncontrollable rage state, allocated SCP-78730-A. During these periods, the entity gains an immense amount of strength, and all the occult markings covering its body start to glow blue as it demands combat with a "worthy opponent". These episodes usually start with SCP-78730 breaching containment and going on an arbitrary killing spree, instantly terminating any opponent it deems "unworthy". In case of an event like this, lowering site oxygen levels to a hypoxic state is a must, as oxygen levels have demonstrated a direct correlation to SCP-78730's strength and cognitive function. If sufficiently injured during this rage state, SCP-78730 will enter a dormant state where it would rapidly regenerate. Dormancy can last from 3 days-11 months depending on the severity of sustained physical trauma.
Several accounts of SCP-78730 after its dormancy have noted that the entity often learns the combat strategies of the opponent who defeated it, hence adapting to those strategies by a preparing counterattacks for them. This ability of tactically strategizing was first displayed in SCP-78730-A Incident: 30A1 2002. This was the first time SCP-78730 entered its rage state and breached containment after the foundation captured it. Although SCP-78730 was neutralized during this incident by using heavy assault rifles, the next time SCP-78730 breached (SCP-78730-A Incident:30A2 2002), it had developed the ability to defend itself from bullets using its bladed weapon as a shield.
Although elevated oxygen levels consistently correlate with reduced hostility and improved cooperation, containment policy prioritizes physical suppression over behavioral stability due to concerns that prolonged cognitive clarity would enable SCP-78730 to formulate effective escape strategies.

**Addendum 78730-1:** Linguistic Interaction Test
**Test Subject:** SCP-78730
**Personnel Involved:** Dr. H.S. Morgan (Linguistics), Dr. M. Maxwell (Head of 78730 research project), Class-D-7613
**Procedure:**
Class-D-7613 was instructed to engage in a linguistic conversation with SCP-78730 in the Nahuatl language using a pre-approved script, requesting SCP-78730's origin.
**Result:**
SCP-78730 responded verbally in the Nahuatl language, addressing itself as "//Yaotl//". However, when questioned about its origins, the SCP became visibly agitated and responded by stating Class-D-7613 was "//unworthy//" and that he should "//Leave Yaotl alone.//" When Class-D-7613 failed to comply, SCP-78730 terminated them with a single strike, showing no remorse afterward, although the SCP was more agitated for the rest of the day.
**Notes:**
Direct linguistic interactions with someone deemed unworthy by SCP-78730 result in the SCP becoming agitated and potentially hostile.

**Addendum 78730-2:** Oxygen Deprivation Test
**Test Subject:** SCP-78730
**Personnel Involved:** Dr. M. Maxwell (Head of 78730 research project), Trevor W. (Engineering and Technical Services Department)
**Procedure:**
Oxygen levels in SCP-78730's containment chamber were gradually depleted till the chamber became a vacuum, over a period of 60 minutes.
**Result:**
Initially, under normal atmospheric Oxygen levels, SCP-78730 demonstrated heightened cognitive ability, a tendency to verbally communicate more, and heightened motor operations. As Oxygen levels slowly lowered to hypoxic levels, SCP-78730 demonstrated extreme lethargy, and slurred speech. At 38 minutes 42 seconds, SCP-78730 Entered a rage state 6 days before schedule, which lead to a containment breach (SCP-78730-B Incident: 4ZB-7 2016)
**Notes:**
While under higher Oxygen levels, SCP-78730 demonstrated friendlier, and less agitated behaviour. However under Hypoxic conditions the SCP quickly became enraged and breached containment. A proposal was made by Dr.XXXX to keep Oxygen levels in SCP-78730's containment chamber normal at all times to avoid SCP-78730-A events, however this proposal was denied by the o5 council.

**Addendum 78730-3:** Establishment of "Worthiness" Criteria
**Subject:** SCP-78730
**Personnel Involved:** Dr. M. Maxwell (Head of 78730 research project), Michael J. (MTF Operative, Played a key role in defeating SCP-78730-A during Incident:30A9 2005), Class-D-9874
**Procedure:**
MTF operative Michael J., Class-D-9874, and a remote controlled combat drone all entered SCP-78730's containment chamber and attempted to prove themself as worthy to the entity.
**Result:**
Upon entry SCP-78730 immediately attacked the drone, destroying it completely. SCP-78730 spoke in Nahuatl, referring to the drone as “//without spirit//” and “//unworthy of war.//”
SCP-78730 then turned to Class-D-9874, who attempted to provoke it physically. SCP-78730 neutralized the subject in approximately three seconds with blunt force trauma. No further attention was given to the D-class after incapacitation.
When MTF operative Michael J. assumed a defensive stance without initiating attack, SCP-78730 paused its aggression for roughly 14 seconds and spoke, identifying Michael J. as a “//warrior who endures.//” No combat occurred during this time. Following this, SCP-78730 returned to a stationary position within the chamber. Containment was maintained throughout the test.
**Notes:**
SCP-78730 appears to judge “worthiness” based on combat ability and recognition of the entity as a sentient opponent. Untrained personnel and artificial entities are consistently deemed unworthy. Prior engagement with SCP-78730 may temporarily prevent aggressive behavior.

**Addendum 78730-4:** SCP-008 Cross-Test
**Subject:** SCP-78730, SCP-008
**Personnel Involved:** Dr. M. Maxwell (Head of 78730 research project), Dr. Gears (Scientific Department)
**Procedure:**
SCP-008 was introduced into SCP-78730's containment chamber through the ventilation system. SCP-78730 was subject to prolonged exposure to SCP-008 (45 minutes). During this time period, Oxygen levels in SCP-78730's containment chamber were raised to be favourable for the entity.
**Result:**
During initial exposure to SCP-008, SCP-78730 showed no response for approximately 34 seconds. However, immediately after 34 seconds, SCP-78730 displayed signs of agitation and confusion, which translated into SCP-78730 displaying symptoms of rapid fever and flu, while his cognitive function declined.
At 2 minutes, 49 seconds of exposure, SCP-78730 remarked, "//It does not breath, It does not fight, it does not learn... how can I defeat such a pest?//" Followed by rapid shrieks, with the volume of some reaching till 147 decibels. This subsequently lead to SCP-78730 entering it's "Rage State" (78730-A), however even in it's rage state, the entity proved unable to breach containment due to severe pain in infected tissue.
Eventually, at 14 minutes, 12 seconds of exposure, SCP-78730 started cutting infected tissue off it's body using its bladed weapon. This tissue lost its anomalous properties soon after bein detached from SCP-78730, and the test had to be halted at 16 minutes, 23 seconds, when SCP-78730 entered a state of dormancy due to severe bleeding in wounds.
After a 36 hour dormancy, SCP-78730 woke up, fully regenerated, however still agitated and uninterested in any verbal communication. This experiment subsequently lead to SCP-78730 entering its rage state 22 hours before schedule, breaching containment and massacring multiple site personnel. A peculiar feature of this episode noticed by Dr. M. Maxwell was that during this containment breach, SCP-78730 did not demand combat with a "worthy opponent", and seemed visibly agitated.
**Notes:**
SCP-78730 seems to be unable to strategically adapt to an enemy it can not perceive. Furthermore, exposure to such an enemy leaves the entity agitated, and causes him to breach out of anger, not just out of the desire to fight a "worthy opponent". Further testing of Biohazards on SCP-78730 has been strictly prohibited by the o5-Council.

**Addendum 78730-5:** 78730-A (Incident: 4ZC-9 20XX)
**Object:** Recovered Audio Log
**Status:** Corrupted
**Dr. M. Maxwell:**
Well... if you're hearing this, I just want you to know... exactly what I feared had happened yesterday. Everyone thinks SCP-78730, or "Yaotl" as staff like to call him, is just a delusional savage who remembers wars that never happened. But ever since the council appointed me to be the head researcher on this project... ever since I saw the beast for the first time, I knew it was more than "just another mindless monster". But I knew it was more than that, and my suspicions were proven right.
During what should have been a scheduled 78730-A event, preparations started 10 hours prior to scheduled time, as they always do. It was planned that SCP-78730 would escape its containment chamber by breaking out its chamber door, as it usually does, and it would then follow a path made by the foundation to bring it into a combat arena, where it would be defeated using heavy artillery as usual. SCP-78730, however, had different plans. Right after entering its "Rage State", Yaotl decided that he would give the foundation a little surprise. Instead of breaking through the door, he decided to break through a far tougher, 3 meter thick alloy wall.
Yaotl, that bastard of a warrior, then continued to breach even more SCPs. He breached 6 Euclid classes, and even 2 fellow Keters. And it wasn't just random, that he ran through other containment chambers to breach these freaks... no-no. He went out of his way to burst open their doors to set them free. It was a massacre to be honest. While the lucky few like me reached the breach shelters on time, there were a total of 73 casualties, although I know that's just a sugarcoated number the council wants us to believe. When so many SCPs breach, They aren't so easy to contain.
Yaotl also displayed the intelligence to be able to escape the facility and run off into the wilderness, and although he was eventually recaptured using missiles that wrecked the forest, the damage was already done. After this episode, the foundation's ethics committee brought SCP-78730 under review, and ruled that he must be terminated immediately due to his hostile nature. Although, as far as I know, the o5 Council has no intent to carry out that operation.
I don't understand why the council doesn't take into account my suggestion bringing Oxygen levels in Yaotl's containment chamber to normal. This way he will just keep breaching containment and causing more havoc. Also, I know I shouldn't be saying this, as it is highly classified, but nearly every 78730-A event, 10-16 casualties are recorded. And although this recording won't go out to many people, and will probably lead to my termination, I'm not going to cower away from the foundation, especially when they are "Cruel" not "Cold".

**Footnotes:**
# Although Normoxic conditions allow SCP-78730 to exhibit positve reactions, its containment chamber is hypoxic as prolonged cognitive clarity may allow it to form complex escape strategies.
# Several breaches occurred following oxygen fluctuations rather than stable atmospheric levels. These incidents were not reflected in final containment protocols.
# The term 'Rage State' is being re-evaluated, as this behaviour may reflect distress, not intentional aggression.
