Noting that new site member
Macksmackstudios (account age 499 days, site membership 13 days) recently posted the following draft critique thread, which has multiple indicators of AI-generation: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17503043/draft-critique:scp-2682-anomalous-candle-and-light-consuming#
Thread description:
This is my first full SCP draft. SCP-2682 is a Keter-class anomaly centered on an anomalous candle that must remain lit to prevent the manifestation of a light-consuming humanoid entity and a larger extradimensional counterpart capable of triggering a global extinction event. Containment relies on strict procedural control rather than force, with the anomaly rejecting non-baseline anomalous entities. I’m looking for critique on clarity, escalation, containment logic, and whether the threat level feels earned rather than excessive. Any feedback is appreciated.

Word count:480 words
I’m primarily looking for feedback on:
– Whether the containment procedures feel believable
– Whether the anomaly feels too overpowered or unclear
– Suggestions for improving tone or professional elements

Sandbox:
**Item #:** SCP-2682
**Object Class:**Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:**
SCP-2682 is contained within a sealed chamber maintained in complete darkness, with illumination provided solely by the active SCP-2682 candle. The candle stands atop a single wooden dining table at the center of the chamber. No furniture, reflective surfaces, or artificial lights are allowed inside.
Replacement of the candle may only be done with approved medium or pillar candles placed directly where the original candle was. Attempts to use flashlights, electric lamps, or non-approved candles have all failed.
A sealed container holds five (5) approved pillar candles. Depleted candles may be returned to the container, but it takes several weeks for the candle to “recharge” or become usable again. Pillar candles placed in corridors or hallways are temporary at best; they cannot be replaced and must be returned to the containment chamber before being fully consumed. Candles lost outside the chamber have never been observed to regenerate.
Personnel must continuously monitor the candle’s burn. Under no circumstances should it fully extinguish. If it does, evacuate immediately and initiate Protocol █████ (“Eclipse Prevention”).
(Note from Dr. ████: It feels… wrong to say this, but some researchers report feeling “watched” when in the chamber. Whether it’s paranoia or SCP-2682 itself is unknown.)
**Description**:
SCP-2682 is centered around a single anomalous candle that emits light only within a 3–5 meter radius. Outside of this range, complete darkness prevails. Night vision, optical enhancements, and other artificial aids do not function as expected.
When the candle burns down, minor tremors and spatial anomalies appear. Complete extinguishment triggers the manifestation of SCP-2682-1
SCP-2682-1 appears selectively hostile toward baseline human subjects, while exhibiting avoidance or rejection behavior when exposed to non-human anomalous entities.
SCP-2682-1
SCP-XXXX-1 is a human-sized humanoid formed of dense, black, mist-like darkness. Its eyes and mouth appear uniformly white and can display human-like expressions, though the expressions do not correlate with empathy or recognizable emotion.
SCP-2682-1 harvests light from baseline human subjects within range. Victims experience organ failure consistent with catastrophic energy extraction; survivors often die days later. Harvested light is then transferred to SCP-2682-2.
Researchers have reported uneasy feelings, some stating the entity appears to “smile” when harvesting, though whether this is literal or metaphorical is unconfirmed.
SCP-2682-2
SCP-2682-2 is a colossal humanoid approximately 678.9 meters (2,227 ft) tall, faceless, muscular, with three prominent horns. It is restrained by massive chains anchored in an extradimensional space linked to SCP-2682-1.
Normally dormant, SCP-2682-2 awakens if SCP-2682-1 harvests sufficient light—estimated at roughly 50% of Earth’s total light output. Once the chains begin to fail, SCP-2682-2 may breach baseline reality, producing a planet-wide eclipse that permanently obscures the Sun and extinguishes all natural and artificial light. No known method of reversal exists; total extinction of terrestrial life is expected.
Both SCP-2682-1 and SCP-2682-2 are considered functionally immortal, their activity entirely dependent on the continued maintenance of SCP-2682s candle

Compare with another sandbox from the user from 1 day ago: https://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/92817
SCP-9281 is stash of paper that over time Becomes SCP-9281-1.SCP-9281 Origami humanoid like creatures standing atleast 3 inches [7.62cm] tall. SCP-9281 is a sentient origami civilization that look like they first take place in the iron .SCP-9281 Seems to be docile and almost always avoid any interaction with foreigners and if provoked may throw paper spears and immediately evacuate or avoid combat all together Although small SCP-9281 shows high intelligence and creative thinking and strategize. If subject gave SCP-9281 gifts or anything that can benefit them they automatically worship person who gained there trust, but if overused might lose trust and quickly lose interest
Other sandboxes of note:
- https://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/the-forgotten-room appears AI-assisted, given excerpts like "SCP-9647 is contained at Site-██ within a sealed chamber equipped with a environmental and ventilation systems. Atmospheric conditions must be monitored every 12 hours. Failure to maintain stable conditions requires immediate evacuation and Breach of testing."
- https://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/scp-9615 appears wholly AI-generated, "SCP-9615 is a 1.8 m tall humanoid organism composed entirely of plant matter, including vines, bark-like plating, and elongated tendrils capable of independent movement. Limbs are flexible and allow rapid directional changes and sudden bursts of speed."
