==Special Containment Procedures==
SCP-9097 is to be contained in a reinforced aquatic enclosure measuring 50m x 30m x 15m at Site-77. The enclosure must be filled with freshwater maintained at 22–28°C. Walls are to be constructed of reinforced titanium alloy and lined with a 15cm layer of shock-absorbent polymer.
All personnel interacting with SCP-9097 must wear reinforced exosuits with full sensory shielding, including heat, motion, and electromagnetic masking. Direct eye contact is strictly prohibited.
Feeding is to occur remotely via automated submersible delivery. SCP-9097 is to be provided 25–30kg of live prey per week.
Any staff assigned to the enclosure must undergo psychological evaluation weekly due to SCP-9097’s memetic influence on perception and behavior.
==Description==
SCP-9097 is a large, semi-aquatic organism resembling a crocodilian, measuring approximately 8 meters in length and weighing an estimated 1,200kg. Physical features include:
* Jet-black scales that absorb light, creating a visually “void” effect in direct observation.
* Multiple rows of asymmetrical eyes scattered along its cranium and dorsal ridge, each exhibiting subtle independent movement.
* Mouth contains serrated teeth with irregular geometries, appearing to bend light and distort perception near the oral cavity.
SCP-9097 exhibits extreme intelligence and a unique memetic effect: any individual observing it for more than 15 seconds begins experiencing intense auditory hallucinations resembling whispers in unknown languages, often causing disorientation, panic, and self-harm in extreme cases. Prolonged exposure can result in permanent cognitive alterations, including memory loss, spatial distortion, and compulsive obsession with water sources.
SCP-9097 demonstrates the ability to phase partially through solid matter while submerged, enabling containment breaches if unattended. Attempts to tranquilize or physically subdue SCP-9097 have resulted in unpredictable reactions, including rapid regeneration of injured tissue and partial temporal displacement within the enclosure.
==Addendum 9097-A – Incident Log==
On 2025-07-14, SCP-9097 breached containment by phasing through reinforced enclosure walls during maintenance. Security footage recorded the creature appearing to “blink” between the containment water and the facility’s perimeter pond. No personnel casualties occurred; however, subsequent analysis revealed mild cognitive anomalies in 4 staff members. Containment procedures were revised to include sensory-masking exosuits and remote feeding protocols.
==Addendum 9097-B – Research Notes==
Dr. ██████ observed that SCP-9097’s scales appear to “absorb” electronic signals, causing temporary sensor blindness in underwater cameras. Further research into the creature’s memetic and spatial abilities is ongoing, with particular focus on its potential for temporal phase manipulation.

==Addendum 9092-C=- Incident Log “The Whispering Pool”
Date: ██/██/20██
Location: Containment Bay 3, Aquatic Sector
Involved Personnel:
Dr. Halvorsen
Research Assistant M. Kline
D-9147
Foreword:
The following incident prompted the reclassification of SCP-9092 from Euclid to Keter and the permanent suspension of direct auditory monitoring within its containment chamber.
Incident Report:
At 02:14 local time, SCP-9092 ceased all visible movement. Thermal sensors confirmed the entity’s body temperature dropped by approximately 4°C, inconsistent with known reptilian biology. Despite this, no loss of vital activity was recorded.
At 02:17, D-9147 was instructed to approach the waterline and read a standardized visual description of SCP-9092 aloud.
For the first 38 seconds, SCP-9092 remained submerged.
At 02:18, audio sensors registered low-volume vocalizations originating from the water. These sounds were initially mistaken for reverberation or equipment feedback.
Transcript analysis later confirmed the vocalizations were human speech.
Audio Transcript (Recovered):
SCP-9092: “Closer.”
D-9147: “Uh… did it just—”
SCP-9092: “You forgot something in the water.”
D-9147: “I didn’t— I didn’t bring anything.”
SCP-9092: “You did.”
(Pause. Sound of shallow footsteps.)
SCP-9092: “Your name.”
At 02:19, SCP-9092 breached the surface.
Witnesses reported the entity’s jaws did not open. Instead, the vocalizations continued from within the water itself, synchronized with ripples spreading outward from SCP-9092’s body.
D-9147 fell silent.
At 02:20, the water level dropped by approximately 11 cm despite no drainage occurring. Visual feed showed human dentition impressions forming along SCP-9092’s gums, appearing and disappearing rhythmically, as if something inside the mouth was pressing outward.
Dr. Halvorsen ordered immediate extraction.
The extraction team arrived at 02:22.
They found no remains.
Only D-9147’s ID badge was recovered, floating upright, suspended in place by gentle ripples despite no visible movement in the pool.
Post-Incident Notes:
No blood, tissue, or biological residue associated with D-9147 has been recovered.
SCP-9092 resumed normal basking behavior 47 minutes later.
During this period, several staff members reported hearing their own names whispered through inactive intercom units.
Following the incident, Assistant Kline submitted a request for reassignment.
The request contained only one sentence:
“It doesn’t eat people. It keeps them.”
The request was approved.
Feedback requested: please review SCP-9092 draft. Looking for advice on containment, description, and addendums.
