**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-9065 is in the containment of the James Research Agency's Nexus facility as of 12/04/2003. The JRA currently houses SCP-9065 in a small containment unit with a concrete box covering SCP-9065.
**Description:** SCP-9065 is a matte-black cardboard box measuring 3 × 2 inches. The material is visually non-anomalous but indestructible through tearing, burning, soaking, or chemical exposure.
Inside SCP-9065 is SCP-9065-2, a smooth obsidian sphere measuring 1.7 cm in diameter. It emits no measurable heat, radiation, or thaumaturgic signature.
When any living organism makes direct contact with SCP-9065-2, a two-stage anomalous effect occurs:
**Stage 1**, (0-30 seconds)
The subject’s skin ignites on fire.
The fire burns at extremely high temperatures.
**Stage 2**, (30-55 seconds)
After the 30 seconds, flames extinguish and the subject rapidly breaks down into fine ash.
The resulting ash is chemically similar to volcanic residue mixed with organic remnants.
Non-living biological samples do not trigger SCP-9065’s effects.
> Addendum SCP-9065-A
> Subject: a living Goat we have named "Beth"
> What happened during the test: Beth is moved and held up to touch SCP-9065-2 until is ignites on fire, after the timed normal of 30 seconds Beths body begins to turn into ash and builds on the floor for 51 seconds
> Addendum SCP-9065-B
> Subject: the subject was a living rat we named "Freddy"
> What happened during the test: The rat is put in a cage next to SCP-9065, Freddy climbs onto the box and stands on SCP-9065-2, Freddy catches on fire for 30 seconds and then ignites and after another 30 seconds it turned to pure ash
> “The ash has been tested and it seems to be alive. I don't understand it. I wish I did.
> --- JRA Researcher Johnathon Davis
> “I hope this wasn't made by a human. However it has the marks of human names and stuff on it.”
> --- JRA Researcher Gopher Miller

**Welcome to the James Research Agency**

**Our Agreements**
[[/div]]
[[div class="body"]]
If you choose to stand with us, the James Research Agency, you accept a world that is far larger, stranger, and more fragile than it appears. The strain of monitoring the unexplained weighs on every aspect of our work, our resources, our time, and at times our sense of self. Yet the preservation of stability is not optional. It is the foundation of our mission, and the reason our organization exists at all.
As anomalies continue to emerge at an accelerating rate, even our reach has limits. Our researchers, agents, and specialists operate at the highest levels of efficiency, but no network, no matter how disciplined, is inexhaustible. It is from this reality, not weakness but clear eyed responsibility, that our commitment must strengthen.
The James Protocol is more than a procedural charter. It is a vow. A codified promise that the James Research Agency will respond to, investigate, and contain the anomalous with restraint, and unwavering duty. It is a recognition that the burden of understanding the unknown is ours to shoulder, and that failure is not a variable we allow.
**Observe. Understand. Secure.**

**Introduction**
[[/div]]
[[div class="body"]]
Hello there. If you have made your way to our facilities or stumbled into one of our survey zones, you have likely arrived at the James Research Agency’s primary operational region. It may look quiet at first glance, but things here are rarely as ordinary as they seem. For locals, the strange has become routine, but for newcomers it can be a surprise to learn that we work inside what some researchers refer to as a nexus point. A place where unusual activity is normal, and where unexplained phenomenas appear more often than they should.
My name is Dr. James, founder and director of the James Research Agency. If it behaves oddly, defies logic, or simply should not exist, it is our job to study it, understand it, and make sure it stays where it belongs. With recent funding expansions and new interagency partnerships, we have been able to extend our operations far beyond our original boundaries in order to better protect the public from anomalies. Other regions may boast unique creatures or rare natural features, but here we catalog things that rewrite our understanding of the world entirely.
The Agency has been running since 2002, back when I was still young and trying to make sense of what the heck are these things? Our official oversight began in 2008 with the signing of the James Protocol, established after three big containment failures that proved the need for stricter coordination. Since then, our work has changed in many ways, some for the better and some for the more complicated. Even so, the world continues to surprise us, and it is remarkable how well our staff and our community continue to adapt to what comes next. Here is hoping that resilience carries us forward.

**What We Do**
[[/div]]
[[div class="body"]]
Our structure is not the strict, by the book setup most people expect from a research organization, but it functions better than anyone would guess. I founded the James Research Agency with the belief that people work best where their curiosity takes them, so instead of rigid chains of command, we use small specialized teams led by coordinators who know their fields inside and out. Some groups handle field responses, some focus on analysis, and others dive into long term studies. It may look scattered from the outside, but every part connects with a purpose.
Officially, local officials reach out to us for unusual readings, unexplained disturbances, or incidents that do not match known scientific causes. Unofficially, people from all over the state get in touch when something strange happens that they cannot explain, and more often than not, we try to answer the call. Beyond investigation, we also run dedicated facilities and recovery units designed to secure and study anything that behaves outside expected parameters.
Our members come from all kinds of backgrounds. We have physicists, biologists, technicians, explorers, archivists, and people who simply saw something they could not walk away from and decided to help. We are problem solvers, learners, observers, and, above all, people that cares about what we do. If you ever get the chance to visit, do not hesitate to stop by. We are always open to new faces and new questions.

**Rapid Response Teams**
[[/div]]
[[div class="body"]]
The James Research Agency operates the Nexus facility designed to withstand many issues posed by anomalies. Our Nexus facility is built around a layered security systems that prioritize early detection, control, and immediate containment. Our facilities are equipped with reinforced observation chambers, automated lockdown protocols, and environmental monitoring systems capable of identifying even minor irregularities before they develop into larger threats. These measures allow us to maintain a stable research environment while ensuring that all anomalies stay contained.
At the core of our safety is our Rapid Response Teams, our most specialized operational unit. This team consists of highly trained personnel skilled in speed. When any incident occurs, they are the deployed, often arriving quick. Their responsibilities range depending on the RRT unit. **The owner.**

[[div class="body"]]
Dr. Adrian James is regarded as one of the best researchers in the study of anomalous phenomena within the region. Before establishing the James Research Agency, he worked as an independent researcher who documented SCP-9065. His early work was unconventional, often conducted in remote locations with little more than improvised equipment and a determination to understand forces that others dismissed as misinterpretations or coincidences.
Dr. James founded the Agency in 1997 after encountering a series of objects that demonstrated unusual behavior he could no longer ignore. Realizing that these objects were increasing in frequency and complexity, he dedicated himself to building an organization capable of studying the unknown.

[[collapsible show="+ What we dislike about the foundation"]]
The Foundation does good with trying to contain the supernatural and protect the world from them. However they are so blinded by their experiments they fail to realize something we the James Research Agency have known for a long time, they are too afraid to eliminate the dangerous, we have eliminated multiple threats and we will continue to eliminate the threats.
