I -1 this simply because the writing itself is far too wordy and clunky; you don’t need to describe every single action a character is taking at any given moment. It ends up feeling like fluff, padding, to draw the tale out when really in this case it was simply two characters meeting, one being coerced into helping the other and then the end result.
The entire supermarket scene in particular reads poorly. ‘Thomas did this. Then Thomas did that. Then Kaylee did this—‘ It’s, imo, grammatically poor and it isn’t interesting to read.
