On 9/30/2025, a potentially suspicious voting pattern was brought to the attention of staff. The article in question was SCP-186, a slot which was recently released from a staff placeholder. Though the articles posted in slot underwent their own review as a result of a report, the voting behavior of the three users, including the user who submitted the linked report, led to staff investigating further.
In the investigation, staff determined that the users engaged in improper voting with the intention of freeing up the slot for their own use. After extensive discussion which took into account the users' behavior during and following the incident, staff reached a consensus that a one-week ban was appropriate.
