**Item #:** SCP-8197
**Object Class:** Euclid
**Special Containment Procedures:** The subject must be kept in a 15 by 15 meters box with oxygen, where an organic compost must be taken care. The tree must be able to get nutrient on the floor's dirt. Only personnel under level 3 clearance is authorized to eat the fruit. The Original Tree should NOT reach the end of the second countdown for now, as we don't know what it will do.
**Description:** SCP-8197 is a tree, with the form of two lungs. The Tree need oxygen to survive and nutriments like a normal tree, multiple instances of SCP-8197 exist, once the tree’s fruit hit the floor, it instantly turn into another instances, it take 15 days for SCP-8197 to fully grow. If the fruit got harvest before he is fully grow up and ready to turn into another Tree, it can be eat. Once ate, the subject will see tree part starting to cover his whole body, starting by their lungs. Once the infection has covered one ful lung, the subject wont be able to be cured. It look like the subject will turn into a human form SCP-8197. If ever one died, all the subject that ate specifically his fruit will take a Tree form and start producing fruits. If the Tree don’t find oxygen, it will take the control of the subjects that ate his fruits and breath using their oxygen. By cuting the Tree, it will take a human form and start attacking all the living entity near him. The only way to kill one is to destroy the Tree’s « lung ». SCP-8197 was able to cure the subjects that ate the fruits, but only phisicaly, it looks like the they are still linked psychicaly to the Tree, and by destroying the Tree’s lung, the 500 cured subjects will be under a mental breakdown for a time that change from 6 months to 731 months. There is like a sort of countdown from a hundred to zero that decrease everytime someone eat his own fruits, once it reach zero, the Tree stop creating fruits. The original one has a second countdown from 1500, for now it is at 1267. this second countdown change every time a tree reach the end of the countdown. The original tree is marked with a red band near his lungs.
SCP-8197-2 is a humanoid form of the Tree. SCP-8197-2 must eat some fruits and vegetable every new lunar cycles, and be able to breath at any time. If ever one of those conditions aren’t checked, the linked tree and his linked Humanoids Trees will start attack living entity, and the Tree will produce 100 fruits that create or SCP-8197-3 instances, or turn someone random into an enraged instances of SCP-8197-2. Once all the enraged instances have been killed, and the enraged tree’s countdown reach zero, it will turn into some kind of a giant ants form Tree, that can spit fruits essences, that turn everyone into mutated SCP-8197-2 instances, humanoid sized red ants that wanna eat every humanoid being. Once the Giant ants have been killed, every others ants will explode, and turn every human being that tuch the liquide into a tree. As every pictures taken by the foundations personnel of SCP-8197 mysteriously only display a full black pictures, no photography were avaible for the foundation's personnel to recognize what it may looks like.

**Special Containment Procedures:**
SCP-8197 must be contained within a 35 m x 35 m enclosure equipped with an independent oxygen supply and an organic compost system to maintain soil fertility. The specimen must have continuous access to nutrients via the enclosure’s floor substrate.
Only personnel with Level 3 clearance or lower are authorized to handle or consume SCP-8197 fruits for testing purposes.
Under no circumstances should SCP-8197-1 (the original tree) be allowed to reach the end of its secondary countdown, as the consequences of this event remain unknown.
**Description:**
SCP-8197 is a tree bearing two lung-shaped organs, located centrally within its trunk and lacking bark coverage. These organs are vital to its survival, requiring oxygen intake in addition to nutrients absorbed through its roots.
Multiple SCP-8197 specimens exist. When a fruit produced by SCP-8197 falls to the ground, it immediately germinates into a new instance. Full maturation of a specimen requires approximately 15 days.
If a fruit is harvested before full maturation, it may be consumed. Upon ingestion, the subject undergoes progressive manifestation of branches and bark across their body, beginning within the lungs. This condition is irreversible through conventional medical treatment. Affected individuals ultimately transform into humanoid entities designated SCP-8197-2. If the originating tree expires, all subjects that consumed its fruit will simultaneously transform into tree-like organisms capable of producing fruit.
In the absence of sufficient oxygen, SCP-8197 is capable of exerting control over subjects who consumed its fruit, utilizing their respiratory function to sustain itself.
When physically cut or damaged, SCP-8197 transforms into a humanoid entity (SCP-8197-2) and attacks nearby living organisms. Neutralization of such an entity is only possible through complete destruction of its lung-organs. [[[SCP-500]]] has been shown to reverse the physical transformation in subjects who consumed SCP-8197 fruits; however, these individuals remain psychically linked to the original tree. Destruction of the tree’s lungs results in severe psychological breakdowns in cured subjects, lasting between 6 and 36 months.
SCP-8197 instances possess a numerical “countdown” beginning at 100, which decreases by one each time one of its fruits is consumed. Once the counter reaches zero, the tree ceases fruit production. SCP-8197-1, the original instance, possesses a secondary counter beginning at 1500 (current value: 1267). This secondary counter decreases whenever another SCP-8197 instance reaches zero.
**SCP-8197-1:**
SCP-8197-1 is the original tree specimen. It is distinguished by the presence of its secondary counter, as well as a red band affixed near its lung-organs by Foundation personnel for identification.
**SCP-8197-2:**
SCP-8197-2 designates humanoid manifestations of SCP-8197. Instances must consume fruits and vegetables at least once per lunar cycle and maintain constant access to oxygen. Failure to meet these conditions causes the linked SCP-8197 tree, as well as all humanoid instances psychically connected to it, to enter an aggressive state. In this state, the tree produces 25 fruits capable of:
1. Generating SCP-8197-3 (ant-like organisms).
2. Converting a random individual within a 75-meter radius into an enraged SCP-8197-2 instance.
If all enraged entities are terminated and the tree’s countdown reaches zero, the tree undergoes further transformation into a giant antiform organism. This entity is capable of expelling a substance referred to as *fruit essence,* which induces rapid mutation in any human it contacts, producing SCP-8197-2 instances in the form of humanoid-sized red ants exhibiting hostile behavior toward all humanoid organisms.
Upon termination of the giant antiform entity, all associated ant instances undergo spontaneous internal rupture, releasing a liquid that transforms any human in contact with it into a tree-like organism.
**SCP-8197-3:**
SCP-8197-3 are ant-like manifestations produced by SCP-8197 fruits. These entities infest SCP-8197 specimens by consuming bark and constructing anthills within the lung-organs. Colonization halts the progression of the instance’s numerical counter.
When an SCP-8197-3 instance approaches SCP-8197-1, it spontaneously transforms into an SCP-8197-2 instance tasked with destroying the anthill. Upon successful destruction, the instance uses its own body to seal the structural damage in the lung-organ. The numerical counter of the tree then resumes its progression.
**Experiment Log 8197**
**Test 8197-A**
*Subject:* D-9321
*Procedure:* Subject instructed to consume an immature SCP-8197 fruit.
*Result:* Subject reported acute chest pain within 30 seconds, followed by coughing bark-like fragments. Over the next 12 hours, branches began to sprout along the ribcage. Full transformation into an SCP-8197-2 instance occurred after 96 hours. Terminated by security personnel.
---
**Test 8197-B**
*Subject:* D-10023
*Procedure:* Subject instructed to consume a mature SCP-8197 fruit.
*Result:* No immediate effects observed. Subject reported mild euphoria and increased oxygen intake. No physical transformations noted for 7 days. On Day 11, subject expired due to spontaneous pulmonary bark growth. Autopsy revealed partial formation of lung-shaped wooden tissue within the thoracic cavity.
---
**Test 8197-C**
*Subject:* D-5544
*Procedure:* Subject ingested an immature SCP-8197 fruit, then administered [[[SCP-500]]].
*Result:* [[[SCP-500]]] reversed external growth of bark and restored baseline human physiology. Subject appeared cured; however, EEG patterns indicated abnormal activity consistent with a psychic link to SCP-8197. Upon subsequent neutralization of the original tree, subject experienced a 14-month catatonic state followed by gradual recovery.
---
**Test 8197-D**
*Subject:* Captured SCP-8197-2 instance
*Procedure:* Instance deprived of oxygen supply for 12 hours.
*Result:* Instance entered an aggressive state and attempted to breach containment. The SCP-8197 specimen to which it was linked began producing 25 new fruits. Security intervention resulted in termination of the instance. The linked tree ceased anomalous activity immediately following termination.
---
**Test 8197-E**
*Subject:* SCP-8197-3 (antiform specimen) introduced near SCP-8197-1.
*Result:* SCP-8197-3 underwent spontaneous transformation into an SCP-8197-2 instance. The transformed entity attacked and successfully destroyed an anthill located within SCP-8197-1’s lung-organ. The instance subsequently expired and its body was absorbed into the damaged structure, sealing the breach. SCP-8197-1’s secondary counter resumed normal progression.
**Addendum 8197-A:**
All photographic attempts to capture SCP-8197 or its derivatives result in completely black images. The mechanism behind this phenomenon remains unknown.

Of note, the addenda material were not present in the initial page creation. When addressed about AI usage ("Author, did you use any LLM or AI-generated content in your recent revisions? There's a stark contrast between revisions six and seven. Additionally, the single asterisks would hint at the text having been copied and pasted with ChatGPT's built-in copy-and-paste feature, which uses that syntax for italics."), the user lied about the edit: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17241886/scp-8197#post-7191059
Hello, no I didn't use any AI as this isn't allowed, I asked my friend and looked at somes SCPs, I also look at the different modules allowed, that is why everything is so different.
