Noting that new site member
Archive 44 (account age 18 days, site membership 8 days) recently coldposted the following page, which has multiple obvious indicators of AI-generation: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-8673 SCP-8673 "What's Within?"
**Item #:** SCP-8673
**Object Class:** Euclid—Ticonderoga
**Ticonderoga-Class Designation Notice:** SCP-8673 has been classified as Ticonderoga under Foundation Protocol Delta-17, reserved for anomalies that:
1. Cannot be practically contained regardless of Foundation understanding and resource levels.
2. Do not require containment due to a lack of direct or systematic threat.
3. Require passive monitoring when anomaly is identified. **(For monitoring protocol see Special Containment Procedures)**.
**Special Containment Procedures:** Due to the unique nature of SCP-8673, containment is not possible regardless of Foundation attempts. Passive monitoring protocol should be followed when criteria are met. The following are:
1. Subject that SCP-8673 has manifested for has been identified and contacted.
2. Subject has entered into SCP-8673 and has not returned through the point of entry (hereafter ‘PoE’).
Passive monitoring protocol will consist of ownership of affected property via Foundation front company as well as a passive observation of entry area by no more than one employee via live video feed equipped with motion-detection capabilities. This will allow the assigned employee to quickly identify when a subject emerges from SCP-8673. No active suppression attempts required.
After a time of one year, subject that enters SCP-8673, will be presumed deceased and no further monitoring will be required. Subsequent motion events will be automatically flagged and forwarded to the assigned observer.
**Description:** SCP-8673 has only been drawn by subjects that it has manifested for. All subjects have drawn and described it as follows:
• Old, weathered wood but not rotted, visibly aged. The door has no discernable grain pattern and instead feels like soft skin to the touch, the surface resembles matte skin.
• The door is always muted brown regardless of lighting in the room.
• On touch the door is either warm or cold and pulses lightly as if it is breathing.
• The frame is slightly too narrow, and some subjects have told us they have had to enter the door sideways or duck to enter. Research Team ██ instructed D-Class subject 234-E to measure the door which returned a measurement of **[DATA EXPUNGED]** meters tall and **[DATA EXPUNGED]** meters wide. Some of the bigger subjects reported pronounced claustrophobia (‘comparable to caving conditions’).
• The handle, a single round brass knob, heavily worn and dented. Subjects inform us that it is warm to the touch. All reports indicate the door presents as unlocked.
• **Key feature—Symbolic Marking:** Each subject has drawn a symbol, each slightly different, but insists it “pulsed” as soon as their hand contacted the brass doorknob. Drawing have be archived under **Foundation file # [REDACTED]**.
**Measurement Log 234-E:** Following confirmed manifestation, Subject D-234-E underwent exposure trial. Subject was instructed to measure SCP-XXXX using a standard Foundation-issue metric tape. Recorded dimensions: height — **[DATA EXPUNGED]** m; width — **[DATA EXPUNGED]** m.
Subsequent trials will be assessed for dimensional consistency. Current data indicates all recorded measurements remain identical across trials to date.
**Discovery:** SCP-8673 was discovered at **[REDACTED]**. Subject A-001 contacted by Research Team ██ before further investigation into SCP-8673 were to be performed.
**Initial Encounter Transcript (Case 3425-A)**
**Date:** ██/██/20██
**Evaluator:** Researcher ███████
**Subject:** A-001
**Summary:**
Foundation personnel responded to a report from subject A-001 of a “door” present in the basement wall of his childhood home. Structural schematics of property (acquired from **[REDACTED]**) confirm no such feature exists.
Upon arrival, the research team observed subject A-001 pointing to a section of wall and insisting the door was visible. On live video feed, no anomaly was visible. This was also confirmed by the research team. A-001 was sent for a psychological exam before further investigation into SCP-8673 were to be performed.
**Psychological Evaluation Transcript (Case 3425-A )** **Date** ██/██/20██
**Evaluator:** Dr. ███████
**Subject:** A-001
**<Audio Transcription>**
**Dr. ███████:** Thank you for your voluntary cooperation, Mr. █████. We value your discovery and only wish to make sure that all information is correct. You do understand, correct?
**A-001:** It feels like you think I am lying to you. Is that it? Do you think I am just making this up?
**Dr. ███████:** You’re here to help us verify the accuracy of your claim. When did you first notice the door?
**A-001:** Yesterday.
**Dr. ███████:** And you are positive that the door wasn’t there when you were a child?
**A-100:** Yes. My brother and I played hide and seek all the time down there. I would have noticed.
[**Evaluator notes:**
- Subject shows no signs of delusional thinking or perceptual disorder.
- Affect determined to be appropriate for situation.
- Orientation of subject, satisfactory.
- Toxicology screening: Negative for alcohol, controlled substances, and hallucinogens.
**Conclusion:** Findings are not attributable to intoxication, neurological deficit, or primary psychosis.]
**Video Log (Case 3425-A)**
**Date:** ██/██/20██
**Location:** ███ █████ █████, ██████████, Ohio, USA **Subject:** SCP Verification
**Recording Method:** Head-mounted camera + stationary recording device
**[00:00:00]** Recording begins. Subject is instructed to approach the location of SCP-8673, located on far wall of basement.
**[00:00:12]** A-001 pauses approximately 2 meters from SCP-8673 and reports feeling “a sudden pull from the door.” Further inquiry into the word “pull” lead us to believe the door was trying to gravitate A-001 towards it. A-001 head camera and stationary recording device both show A-001 standing in front of an ordinary concrete wall.
**[00:00:29]** A-001 reaches out and grasps something. Contact triggers a low buzzing audible on the recording.
**[00:00:46]** A-001 reports a “voice” coming from within SCP-8673. No sound is detected on the cameras.
**[00:01:10]** A-001 seems to turn the object he had grasp earlier. No object is visibly present in his hand. He pulls his hand back towards him as if he was opening a door.
**[00:01:23]** Stationary video footage shows A-001 step forward directly towards the concrete wall. Subject disappears.
**[00:01:27]** Audio from head-mounted camera cuts abruptly, Recording feed continues for 00:12:45 but the footage shows only static.
**[00:16:12]** A-001 reappears now facing towards stationary recording device, his back facing the concrete wall. Subject looks blissful and slowly walks forward. He removes head-mounted camera and hands it to researchers.
**[00:16:21]** Recording ended.
**Exposure Log 234-E-01 – Subject D-234-E**
**Subject Background:** D-234-E was convicted of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence; sentenced to life imprisonment. Selected for trial after manifestation of SCP-8673. Strong emotional attachment to location present at the time for subject.
**Pre-Trial Notes:**
• Psychological eval: Unresolved guilt and grief.
• Toxicology: Negative for intoxicants.
• Subject briefed on mission goals; equipped with body cam and biometric monitor.
**Event Summary:**
• Subject is instructed to use Foundation-issue metric tape to verify dimensions of SCP-8673.
• After data recovery from subject, D-234-E, was then instructed to enter SCP-8673.
• As subject approached SCP-8673 he pauses and reports feeling a “pull” towards the door.
• Upon crossing threshold, body cam feed distorts; all visuals/audio lost for 4 minutes 12 seconds.
• Biometrics equipment ceased recording at moment of entry, resuming on after subjects return from ‘PoE’. Biometrics show a calm relaxed demeanor.
• Subject images visibly dry before collapsing to his knees and continuing to cry into his palms.
**Post-Exposure Interview Highlights:**
• D-234-E reports encountering family the subject killed in his drunk driving incident.
• Subject states that they spoke with him and “forgave” him.
• Subject describes his emotional state as relieved and has a sense of closure.
• Claims that interior of door was “the exact spot where the accident occurred.” The road was empty and there were no cars. Only the family and him but he refused to elaborate further as he again started to weep out of happiness.
**Post-Trial Foundation Assessment:**
• Based on initial trails, hypothesis of SCP-8673 is that it could be used as a psychological rehabilitation tool for high-trauma individuals.
• Proposal submitted for further controlled trials.
• Identification of subjects that SCP-8673 will manifest for will have to be tested.
