Noting that
Ty Vassar (account age 1769 days, site membership 1405 days) recently posted the following concept thread, which has multiple indicators of AI-generation: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17168558/seeking-greenlight-sad-mary thread description "Trying to make a supernatural/ psychological SCP. This was an old project i submitted over 4 years ago so decided to resubmit it with some revisions."
**Elevator Pitch:** A marble statue of the Virgin Mary compels confessions from those suffering emotional grief or guilt. Known for emitting invisible waves of sorrow, the statue affects sentient beings who cross a threshold of exposure — often leading to emotional collapse, false confessions, or suicide. It was unknowingly bought at a rummage sale by a grieving mother after a hurricane, triggering a local outbreak of suicides and domestic violence before Foundation containment.
**Central Narrative:** The anomaly (SCP-XXXX) is a 1-meter-tall statue that emits an expanding psionic field fueled by emotional distress. Victims report hearing a woman weeping, often begin confessing to past sins (real or imagined), and become emotionally overwhelmed. The statue’s influence is strongest on individuals experiencing unresolved trauma. It originated centuries ago as part of a mourning shrine in a Puerto Rican cemetery and was washed away in a flood after Hurricane Elvira. It resurfaced in a rummage sale and was bought by a grieving mother. After her suicide, the statue’s aura expanded, affecting her neighborhood and drawing Foundation attention. Recovery and containment followed, but its origin remains partially unexplained.
The story explores the lingering weight of grief and guilt, how spiritual objects can become vessels of emotion, and the moral hazard of using anomalous objects for truth-seeking. A test log shows the statue compelling a D-Class to confess to a crime he previously denied, while hinting at the possibility of false memory or emotional manipulation.
**Hook/Attention-Grabber (Optional):** The statue doesn’t just reveal truth — it demands guilt, even if it must fabricate it. It’s not just a tool for confession; it’s a mirror for everything people regret, fear, or bury.
**Additional Notes (Optional):** Thaumiel or interrogation usage has been intentionally ruled out due to feedback about overpowered Foundation tools, and horror emphasis is psychological and emotional, not physical. I’d love feedback on how well the emotional horror lands and if the use of religious imagery feels respectful or overly symbolic.

Thank you Jack for your feedback as well, I am still doing some revisions to the SCP and doing some more research on it's power and reasoning. I am taking your feedback into consideration as well as Golems, and I would love to send you both the revision pitch when I am done. Just to be clear as well it's not supposed to be too religious besides the fact that many people fall to religion in a time of grief, it's more about energy and auras. I will try and steer away from religion and keep the focus on energy.
Thank you again for your feedback!
