SCP-8957 “The Pedophile Terminator”
Object class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-8957 is to be contained in a 7.6m x 7.6m x 7.6m (25 ft x 25 ft x 25 ft) reinforced steel containment chamber, equipped with triple-redundant hydraulic steel security doors serving as the sole access point. All entry and exit procedures must be approved by Site Command.
Personnel assigned to SCP-8957 must pass Level-4 background screening, including memetic and psychological evaluation. SCP-8957 is not to be informed of the personal histories, identities, or psychological profiles of any interacting personnel under any circumstances. All interviews or communication attempts must be conducted via remote interface only.
In order to minimize the risk of containment breach, SCP-8957 is to be presented with one (1) D-class individual per week who has been confirmed to possess a history of sexual offenses against minors. Following successful termination, SCP-8957 is to be issued a metallic cube composed of aluminum-zinc alloy (mass between 4.5–9 kg). It is believed SCP-8957 consumes metallic substances in order to replenish its weapon systems, utilizing a set of mandible-like appendages located beneath its central optical sensor to do so. In the event SCP-8957 is denied a target for more than fourteen (14) consecutive days, or refuses its post-termination reinforcement item, Containment Command is to be notified immediately and Protocol Bastion-3 enacted.
DESCRIPTION:
SCP-8957 is an autonomous quadrupedal humanoid machine of unknown origin, capable of detecting and executing individuals with a history of child-related sexual offenses—regardless of legal documentation, behavioral evidence, or acknowledgement by the individual themselves.
SCP-8957 measures approximately 2.13 meters (7 feet) in height and 2.5 meters (8 feet) in length from the termination points of its legs. Its body is constructed primarily from a black, non-reflective metal alloy of unknown origin and composition, exhibiting extreme resistance to physical damage, corrosion, and heat. The alloy’s surface is smooth to the touch, but features subtle, etched patterns resembling serial codes, Russian military insignias, and ritualistic markings consistent with various "purity" cults.
The entity's head features a single large lens embedded at its center, surrounded by seven smaller camera-like apertures arranged in a radial configuration reminiscent of an insect’s compound eye. These secondary apertures remain active at all times and can rotate and reposition independently, allowing SCP-8957 to maintain complete environmental awareness.
During target acquisition, these lenses emit a faint red glow, and the central lens dilates like an iris in response to motion and heat signatures.
SCP-8957 possesses no visible arms or manipulators in its default state. However, when engaging in combat or performing mechanical tasks, it can generate and deploy a variety of mechanical limbs from concealed ports along its thorax and spinal ridge. These appendages vary in number, size, and function—some terminating in bladed tools, others in advanced weapon systems or utility instruments. Observations suggest these limbs are either fabricated from internal reserves or “folded” into localized spatial anomalies, allowing for rapid deployment without altering SCP-8957’s core mass.
SCP-8957's locomotion is provided by four digitigrade legs, each ending in clawed, multi-jointed feet capable of anchoring the entity to surfaces of various compositions, including vertical walls and ceilings. SCP-8957 moves with unnerving speed and fluidity for a mechanical being, with joints that rotate beyond human anatomical norms and produce minimal sound during operation.
SCP-8957 is equipped with an extensive internal weapon system, which includes but is not limited to: machine guns, artillery cannons, flamethrowers, grenade launchers, laser cannons, missile pods, anti-tank guns, swords, chainsaws, knives, hammers, and one unidentified item described by researchers as “a really, really big rock.” These weapons are operated using fabricated or extended mechanical limbs, generated on demand.
SCP-8957 has been observed “consuming” metal objects following termination events. It is believed to use these materials to replenish ammunition, fabricate weapons, and repair its structural integrity. The exact mechanism by which this process occurs remains unknown.
The entity possesses a highly advanced target identification system, capable of detecting individuals with a history of sexual offenses against minors, even when no documentation exists. SCP-8957 appears to utilize a combination of database recognition, anomalous cognitive processing, memetic scanning, and a phenomenon referred to as “dream-trance reconstruction” to determine target eligibility. Upon identification of a valid target, SCP-8957 enters a "seek-and-destroy" state, exhibiting extreme speed, strength, and single-minded aggression. During this phase, SCP-8957 will employ its full arsenal to terminate the target with maximum efficiency. Methods of termination are highly precise, exhibiting tactical decision-making consistent with trained military operators. Despite its aggression, SCP-8957 has shown consistent restraint in avoiding collateral damage. It will not harm any entity that is not its intended target, nor will it execute a target in the presence of a child.
During pursuit and termination events, SCP-8957 is known to vocalize in Russian, regardless of the target's nationality or language. Phrases are consistently punitive in tone and delivered in a calm, flat vocal pattern. Examples include:
“Грязный паразит, ты — пятно на чистом холсте.”
(“Foul vermin, you are a stain on a pristine canvas”)
“Отвратительный червь, я исправлю ошибку твоего существования.”
(“Disgusting worm, I will correct the error that is your existence”)
"Ты — гной в теле человечества."
("You are a festering wound on the body of humanity.")
"Суд был вынесен. Наказание — смерть."
("Judgment has been passed. Punishment is death.")
“Ты угроза невинным, а я их опекун.”
(“You are a threat to the innocent, and I am their guardian”)
The voice is synthetic, but analysis suggests it is modeled after mid-20th century Russian military personnel. Audio signatures indicate that many of the phrases are pre-recorded, though SCP-8957 has been observed generating new phrases spontaneously when prompted by specific targets or stimuli.
Initial Containment:
SCP-8957 was recovered following a series of disappearances involving known fugitives and previously convicted sexual offenders in the town of [REDACTED], Russia. Foundation involvement began after local law enforcement reported the discovery of several bodies exhibiting trauma “clearly inflicted by a non-human entity.” Subsequent satellite analysis revealed SCP-8957 emerging from a collapsed missile silo located on the outskirts of the town. Analysis suggests the entity had remained dormant for several decades, potentially dating back to the Cold War or earlier.
A partially destroyed cassette tape recovered at the site contained the following audible fragments:
"We will purge the filth permeating in human society."
"Sin against the innocent will not be tolerated."
"We will make a soldier that will never suffer exhaustion—one that will pursue its targets to the ends of the Earth. When the filth has been cornered by our hero, the innocent shall rejoice, for they shall be tormented no longer."
Addendum-incident log 8957-A:
During a containment breach at Site-17, SCP-8957 deviated from its assigned holding area and entered an active state. While traversing the site, it vocalized the phrase:
"грязная крыса, я наконец-то загнал тебя в угол."
("Filthy rat, I corner you at last.")
SCP-8957 proceeded to terminate Researcher Stevens, who had passed all background checks and had been cleared for indirect analysis of SCP-8957-related data.
Following Stevens' termination, Foundation staff conducted a sweep of his assigned office. A sealed diary was discovered, containing an entry dated 17 years prior in which Stevens described recurring fantasies of a sexually deviant nature involving minors. The entry also included a drawing of a machine bearing close resemblance to SCP-8957, with a note reading: "It came to me in a dream. It told me it would find me one day."
It should be noted that Researcher Stevens had no direct interaction with SCP-8957 and was only involved in secondary data analysis. At no point was personal information about Stevens made accessible to the anomaly.
Addendum-incident log 8957-B:
Following the termination of Researcher Stevens (See Addendum 8957-A), Site Command authorized an attempt to reprogram SCP-8957 to prevent future hostile actions toward Foundation personnel. A team of six (6) individuals—two Foundation cybernetic specialists equipped with Foundation-issued override tools, and four armed security officers—were granted access to SCP-8957’s containment chamber following full background clearance and psychological screening.
During the procedure, the two specialists initiated a system interface sequence intended to access SCP-8957’s core directives. SCP-8957 immediately terminated both specialists via sudden deployment of internal weapon systems. Upon reacting with gunfire, the four security personnel were also terminated in under 6.5 seconds.
A remote interview was conducted with SCP-8957 via internal audio interface approximately three hours following the incident:
Interview Log 8957-B.1
Conducted remotely via containment chamber intercom system.
Interviewer: Dr. [REDACTED]
Subject: SCP-8957
Dr. [REDACTED]: Why did you kill those staff members?
SCP-8957: Они угрожали невиновности. (They were threatening innocence.)
Dr. [REDACTED]: What do you mean?
SCP-8957: Я — хранитель невинных. Они пытались искалечить меня.
(I am a guardian of the innocent. They attempted to cripple me.)
Following this exchange, SCP-8957 returned to passive mode and has not responded to subsequent remote contact attempts. Ethics Committee inquiry into this event is ongoing.
Note from Foundation Psychological Specialist Dr. Johanna Watson:
"This entity appears to genuinely believe it is doing what is right. And as someone who was sexually assaulted as a child, I want to agree with it. But ruthlessly executing 'vermin'—without due process, without mercy—is not a solution we can condone. We are scientists, not vigilantes. I strongly advise against any further attempts to override or reprogram SCP-8957."
