= **[Tale] Dr. Whisker and the Negative Reflection**
**By:** Dr Whisker
**Date:** ██/██/2025
**Location:** Foundation Archive Room 7-B a.k.a. "The Paper Dungeon"
---
Dr. Whisker had no idea what he was looking for.
He was actually looking for snacks.
But in typical Dr. Whisker fashion, he got lost somewhere between the memetics wing and a stack of filing cabinets that hadn't been touched since disco was cool.
He bumped into a dusty drawer labeled **"NOPE (DO NOT OPEN)"** in angry marker. Naturally, he opened it. Inside was a single polaroid tucked into a folder labeled _"███ Incident - Chrono Echo."_ The folder smelled like old regrets and burnt toner.
He flipped the photo up and laughed nervously.
It was a photo of... himself?
Older. Much older. Same coat, just more faded. Same tired eyes—only now, they looked scared. The kind of scared even Dr. Whisker didn't joke about.
He turned the photo over.
His handwriting was on the back. Definitely his. Only… not.
> _"Don't smile at it. It smiles back."_
His playful grin slowly dropped.
He looked up. The hallway lights flickered. For a second, in the glass cabinet across the room, his reflection didn’t smile. It didn’t blink. It didn’t move with him.
Dr. Whisker, normally all giggles and bubble gum thoughts, slowly reached for his radio.
> **“Dr. Whisker to Security. I think I just accidentally uncovered something important. And I really, really wish I hadn’t.”**
---
**Foundation Note:**
Dr. Whisker is currently under observation. He has been relocated to Memetic Containment and given two plushies and a Jello cup per protocol.
Further testing pending. No one has yet matched the photo's timestamp to any known timeline.

= SCP-7891 - "The Hollow Testament"
**Item #:** SCP-7891
**Object Class:** Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:**
SCP-7891 is to be contained in a 5 m x 5 m x 5 m lead-lined chamber at Site-27, suspended within a Class-IV anti-memetic dampening field. No visual, auditory, or written documentation of SCP-7891 is permitted within 50 meters of its chamber, save for direct Foundation-authorized experiments.
Personnel assigned to SCP-7891 must undergo monthly Type-G amnestic therapy. No individual is to observe SCP-7891 more than once. All recorded media or logs referencing SCP-7891 are to be filtered through the Ω-Black protocol before review.
In the event of a Containment Breach, all site personnel are to immediately enact **Protocol: Belljar**, and cognitohazard filters must be activated in all intercom systems.
**Description:**
SCP-7891 is an anomalous, immobile artifact composed of an unidentifiable matte-black alloy, shaped similarly to a vertical obelisk or monolith, with no distinguishing markings. Direct observation of SCP-7891 triggers an undefined cognitive effect in the subject that results in:
- Immediate cessation of all internal dialogue
- A sharp decrease in beta wave activity
- Self-reported "echoing thoughts," often described as "*someone else thinking inside me*"
After approximately 23–39 seconds of exposure, subjects will enter a catatonic state. If left unchecked, the condition progresses into irreversible **psychospiritual disassociation**. Autopsies reveal no organic damage, yet all victims exhibit complete neurofunctional collapse.
SCP-7891 emits no detectable radiation, sound, temperature variation, or magnetic field. However, attempts to photograph or scan SCP-7891 result in corrupted data, often replaced with seemingly random phrases or phrases in extinct languages. Cross-referencing has revealed some phrases match **long-dead civilizations predating Sumerian culture**.
**Notable Phrases Recovered:**
> - “He Who Left Thought Unfinished”
> - “Ash that speaks in silence”
> - “Begin with the End and End with the Beginning”
> - “All faith is hunger. All hunger is hollow.”
**Addendum 7891.1 – Initial Discovery**
SCP-7891 was discovered embedded deep within a salt flat in █████, Iran, after seismic sensors picked up repeating subterranean patterns resembling artificial heartbeat rhythms. Local villages had already been evacuated due to unexplained mass hallucinations, auditory mirages, and spontaneous combustion of livestock.
A joint operation between MTF Mu-4 ("Ghost Hunters") and Psi-8 ("The Silencers") secured the site. Five members were lost; their bodies were found standing upright around SCP-7891, facing away from it, with their mouths sewn shut from the inside.
**Addendum 7891.2 – Interview Log Excerpt**
> **Interviewed:** Dr. Kyros Vell
> **Date:** ██/██/2024
> **Context:** Post-exposure debriefing following accidental contact with SCP-7891.
>
> **Dr. Vell:** *(visibly trembling)* It didn’t talk. It didn’t need to. It just… waited.
>
> **Agent Lyle:** Waited for what?
>
> **Dr. Vell:** For me to realize I’d already spoken.
>
> **Agent Lyle:** …I don’t understand.
>
> **Dr. Vell:** Neither did I. Until I *remembered* words I hadn’t thought yet.
**Addendum 7891.3 – Ethics Committee Note**
The artifact’s influence appears to retroactively alter cognition and metaphysical continuity. It is currently under review whether SCP-7891 poses a **Class-Z Ontological Threat** to baseline reality. Until further notice, no proposals to destroy SCP-7891 are to be considered.
**Addendum 7891.4 – Incident Log 7891-C ("The Hollowing")**
On ██/██/2025, Site-27 experienced a mass blackout event followed by a spontaneous activation of every PA speaker across all wings. No source audio was detected. All systems recorded the same singular phrase in over 137 languages:
> _“The testament is not read. It is remembered.”_
19 personnel collapsed. All recovered exhibited permanently altered EEG signatures matching near-death experiences.

**Special Containment Procedures:**
**Description:**SCP-7914 is an unusual black-and-white photo that makes any person or people it captures age quickly. It is usually 10x15 cm or 4x6 inches. When a new SCP-7914 instance is made, or when a person sees a pre-existing instance of themselves, they quickly age biologically and reach a physiological age of about 80 years in an hour. This effect will last as long as SCP-7914 is fully destroyed.
SCP-7914 instances **manifest spontaneously** on flat, light-coloured surfaces (e.g., desktops, shelving, blank paper) within a radius of ≤17 m around the last person to view any previous instance. Manifestation is silent and instantaneous; high-speed cameras record a single frame of static before the photograph is present.
Close inspection shows the same unidentified male subject seated in a plain wooden chair, facing the lens. Infra-red and X-ray imaging reveal **no underlying emulsion or ink**: the image occupies a depth of <4 μm in the paper fibres, suggesting direct alteration of the cellulose matrix rather than conventional printing.
When a person recognises their own likeness in an SCP-7914 instance, biological markers (telomere length, mitochondrial DNA damage, bone density) accelerate to match an **approximate age of 80** within 45–70 minutes. The process is entirely cellular; chronological records, memories, and psychological profile remain unchanged.
• Physical contact is **not** required — line-of-sight alone is sufficient.*
•Individuals **not depicted** in the photograph experience no effect.*
Destruction of the photograph (incineration, chemical pulping, shredding to <2 mm fragments) **halts further aging but does not reverse it**. Attempting to burn an instance triggers a statistically significant increase (p < 0.01) in the probability of a **new copy appearing** within five minutes, often inside shredders or furnaces already in operation.
All attempts to capture or scan SCP-7914 produce blank, over-exposed negatives; digital sensors return an empty metadata shell labelled “NEVERSHOT.png”. Foundation analysts suspect a low-level antimemetic component preventing secondary reproduction.

Marcus,
It appeared *again*—this time on Dr. Klemens’ desk, between two blank sheets of copier paper. He never touched it, just **saw it**, and within the hour was in full organ failure. Biological age: 83.
We burned the instance, but another one manifested in Storage Locker B4 12 minutes later. Same photo. Same framing. Same grain. *Same subject.*
No camera. No prints. Just *there*.
I'm requesting a full containment reevaluation.

We ran temporal scans after the last event. Chrono-distortion spikes were localized—2.3 seconds of **nonlinear timeflow** within a 1-meter radius of the photo.
Also: the subject appearing in every instance? **We can’t ID him.** No Foundation staff match. No global records. Facial recognition fails.
Here’s the worst part: a copy of the photo appeared in Site-██'s *incinerator bin*. It *knew* we’d try to destroy it.
This isn’t just a photo—it’s **embedding itself**.
We need Level-4 lockdown authority. This might be memetic.
