JamesSmithOtto (account age 42 days, site membership 40 days) recently posted the following critique thread, which has multiple obvious indicators of AI-generation: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17128823/seeking-greenlight-containment-of-the-engineer thread description "This concept explores the containment of The Engineer, the mysterious and possibly post-human leader of the Chaos Insurgency."
**Page Type:**
SCP Article //(with embedded field reports/tactical logs; hybrid with tale elements)//
**Genre (Optional):**
Horror, Action, Military Thriller
**Page Layout (Optional):**
The article will begin with standard SCP documentation (object class, procedures, description), but incorporate heavily redacted tactical logs, mission transcripts, and recovered field footage from RTF Nu-15 “Stormtroopers.” These documents will reveal conflicting accounts of The Engineer's identity and abilities. A possible twist includes a post-containment log implying the subject may still be active or controlling parts of the Foundation from within containment.
**Elevator Pitch:**
The Engineer is the elusive and possibly non-human leader of the Chaos Insurgency—recently contained by the elite Foundation RTF Nu-15 "Stormtroopers" after a brutal assault on a GOI stronghold. Despite the Foundation's success, conflicting intelligence, corrupted documents, and post-capture anomalies suggest The Engineer may have allowed their own containment… or never left the battlefield at all.
**Central Narrative:**
This article tells the story of The Engineer’s containment, not as a clean-cut military victory, but as a slowly unraveling web of misdirection, sacrifice, and psychological manipulation. The central conflict lies not in what The Engineer is, but whether The Engineer has truly been contained—or if the Foundation has played directly into their hands. As readers progress, they will piece together scattered logs from RTF Nu-15's high-speed raid, post-operation Foundation evaluations, and ambiguous statements from The Engineer themselves. The story reveals not just a battle, but a strategic loss disguised as a victory.
**Hook/Attention-Grabber (Optional):**
The Engineer is positioned as a Chaos Insurgency myth given form—an unreliable figure whose very identity destabilizes records and reports.
Nu-15 “Stormtroopers” introduce an intense, blitzkrieg-style response force rarely explored in Foundation canon, allowing for fast-paced tactical horror sequences grounded in realism.
The article combines military thriller action with SCP’s clinical horror, merging high-stakes GOI conflict with existential dread about what’s really been contained.
A subtle metanarrative may suggest that The Engineer has tampered with Foundation files—including the article itself.
**Additional Notes (Optional):**
I’d like feedback on how to balance the ambiguity of The Engineer’s identity without frustrating readers. Should I reveal a version of the truth, or maintain total uncertainty?
Suggestions on structuring redacted logs for maximum tension would be appreciated.
Looking for ways to keep the pacing tight while allowing space for both action and creeping dread.

++ Briefing Room Recording
**Site-77, 2025-03-10, 2300 HRS**
**Lt. Marcus (Operations Liaison):**
“Satellite recon confirms the Chaos Insurgency is operating out of an abandoned monastic complex near Grid Theta-42. At 1900 hours local time, we registered a Class-3 thaumaturgic spike centered beneath the chapel ruins. That alone would’ve been enough for interest—but we cross-referenced that energy pattern and got a hit. It's almost identical to SCP-███’s activation signature.”
**Dr. Vega (Anomalous Artifacts Division):**
“The monastic records mention an idol worshiped in secret by monks in the 13th century. A four-armed figure believed to ‘walk between seconds.’ We’re calling it Relic-19-A. The Insurgency is trying to wake it up.”
**Captain Juno (Nu-15):**
“So we’re going into a crypt chasing something that distorts time and memory, currently in the hands of a terrorist cult with a god complex. Great.”
++ Operation “Twilight Hail” Engagement Log
**Timestamp: 2025-03-11 – 02:17 hours**
Insertion – VTOL Transport “Blackwing-7”
//RTF Nu-15 descends silently through fog. Thermal readings show no signs of life within the ruins—deceptive, as expected. Instruments begin to glitch intermittently.//
**Private Halvors:**
“My scope’s flickering. Probably just interference, right?”
**Sergeant Kell:**
“Or a polite warning from the thing downstairs. Stay sharp.”
02:42 – Initial Engagement
//Chaos Insurgency snipers open fire from the belltower. Nu-15 takes cover behind crumbled stone walls. Suppression initiated. One insurgent is neutralized by drone-guided missile. Another disappears into a hole beneath the nave.//
**Captain Juno:**
“They’re guarding something below. Stack up—breach the crypt.”
02:47 – Entry into Crypt
//Old stone stairwell leads into a chamber lit by flickering lanterns and blood symbols scrawled across the walls. Scraps of Insurgency equipment, data slates, and ritual diagrams scattered across a makeshift altar.//
**Private Halvors (visibly shaken):**
“The air’s… wrong. It’s like breathing in syrup.”
**Lt. Marcus:**
“Psychogenic field detected. Recommend mental shielding protocols—deploy memetic filters.”
02:52 – Contact with Relic-19-A
//A central stone dais, cracked and moss-covered, holds Relic-19-A: a basalt humanoid idol, four arms folded across its chest. Sigils pulse red. A containment shell surrounds it, powered by anomalous tech spliced with Foundation stolen parts.//
**Dr. Vega (via comm):**
“If that thing wakes up, it could destabilize every second in a ten-kilometer radius. It doesn’t kill you—it erases the moment you were alive. You’d never have existed.”
02:54 – Ambush
//Six Chaos Insurgency agents phase in through a rift in the stone wall. One holds a crystalline firearm emitting violet energy.//
**Insurgency Commander “Virgil”:**
“You’re too late. This relic doesn’t belong to you—it never did. It remembers who we were before the Foundation shackled the world.”
//Chaos Insurgency engages. Two Nu-15 operatives downed immediately. Relic-19-A glows brighter—sigils spinning.//
**Sergeant Kell:**
“We’ve got temporal distortion building. Clock sync is out of phase—mission timer’s jumping back every five seconds!”
02:59 – Reality Break
//The chamber fractures. Time stutters. One operative is seen flickering in and out—appearing in three positions at once before collapsing. Voices in Latin echo from nowhere.//
//“Tempus est servus. Tempus est dominus.”//
> Time is a servant. Time is a master.
//A Reality Anchor is dropped and initialized. Field begins to stabilize.//
**Lt. Marcus:**
“It’s working—but we need five more minutes or this whole place folds into a Möbius strip.”
03:03 – Suicide Assault
//Insurgency operative “Virgil” sacrifices himself, activating a black crystal. He vanishes in a flash—no remains. The relic feeds on the energy. It shifts. Its eyes open. Time stops for 0.7 seconds—long enough for every operative to see themselves die.//
**Private Halvors (recorded on helmet cam):**
“…I just watched myself get shot. Twice. But I’m still here.”
**Captain Juno:**
“Don’t think. Move. Lock it down!”
03:09 – Final Stand
//Insurgency backup arrives—armored truck with mounted anomalous cannon. Nu-15 counters with heavy plasma and sonic ordinance. Two Chaos operatives attempt to extract the idol—one is absorbed into its surface, screaming as he fades from memory.//
//Drone Support arrives. Three hostiles eliminated.
Containment Casket deployed. Relic-19-A secured.//
03:23 – Extraction
//Exfiltrated via subterranean Foundation rail tunnel. Three wounded, four KIA. One MIA—Sergeant Kell, last seen during temporal collapse. No memory of his presence exists on two surviving operatives. Only found on digital logs.//
++ POST-ENGAGEMENT ANALYSIS
> Relic-19-A reclassified as SCP-████. Exhibits non-linear memory effects, reality bending fields, and a passive memetic hazard. Currently housed in Site-77, Vault Theta-Black.
> Researcher Note: "We tried to count the number of limbs it has. First it was four. Then five. Then none at all. I stopped counting after I saw my daughter’s face reflected in its surface. I don’t have a daughter."

The user also lied about their usage of AI: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/forum/t-17128823/seeking-greenlight-containment-of-the-engineer#post-6995904 reply to comment "JamesSmithOtto, you're describing this story in very broad, non-specific ways. The cadence of your pitch reads a lot like AI/LLM-generated material. Did you write all of this yourself?"
Yes, I did write this by myself. I have been told by many people that I sound like AI sometimes. I just write like this.
As an aside, the user also PMed me asking for feedback, with "Hello, would you mind critiquing my idea?" and a link, no other text. I responded noting that I am not interested in reviewing AI-generated material, and lying about usage of AI is grounds for a permanent ban from the site.
