Contact Staff update

This is an update proposal for Contact Staff, which has remained grossly out of date.

It is entirely possible that this rewrite may only serve as a temporary stopgap, and a better layout will come in the future, but the immediate need for a functional Contact page supersedes the want of perfection.

Changes

• Condenses all information into only the most relevant bits, to facilitate good hierarchy of information and parse-ability.
• Removed (Or, I don't know which team to contact!/My question is not on this list!) and I'd like to start a translation site, or I have a question about any of the SCP Foundation's official channels
  • CO is no longer the primary general touchpoint for new users and inquiries, and translation sites are not a relevant case for new users/has a better touch point in SCP-INT.
• Removed all specific user mentions
  • This is an unnecessary duplicate of the Team hubs listing, and is by far the easiest to fall out of sync with

Further thoughts

• Curation, CO and Licensing should fill out the preferred method of contact, if any. Other teams should review their current listed contact methods for changes, if necessary.

Archiving Meet the Staff

For detailed information on individual staff members (including admin/mod/operational/junior staff breakdown), please see Meet the Staff.

Although fun, Meet the Staff at best serves auxiliary roles in this function, and is one of the pages that falls out of sync when staff list needs to be updated (and is partially out of date at time of writing). It is proposed that this page be archived, and the wiki mirror be deleted or archived as well.

Consider:

• If for archival, consider moving the blurbs to another location (Master Staff list? Team hubs?)
• If against archival, remove the Junior Staff listing at the bottom.

So mea the staff acts as the staff author page for staff pages on crom, where should we reassign the staff author page for crom.

anyway, i dont have much to say about this other than to share my support. this will rely on o5 updating to keep the team rosters up to date, or the captains. personally, i keep all sections im vice captain of up to date myself since i would rather handle it personally than go through a third party but i understand if others would rather leave it up to o5 updating.

Overall I think this is very good. The list of users has always been the information on these pages with the shortest expiration date, and since maintaining it consistently is easy to lose, we should consolidate it down to just the active staff list.

I think we should archive the Meet the Staff on O5 and on the main site (keeping it as an include). People are used to it being on the main site (it was originally located there), and may want to see the archived version and wouldn't know it was on O5.

+ Nitpicky suggestions

Capitalize each row under "For questions regarding", such as:

Writing process and chatroom (idea development, IRC chatroom/client issues, sandbox issues, writing tips, seeking collaborators, etc.)

Remove the "subforum" from each link (redundant information), and add it to the column header:

Make a new thread in this subforum

Thanks Estrella for this proposal, it's exactly what we needed in these two areas to update them.

Contact Staff changes: simple, elegant, perfect and what we want.

Meet the Staff: I do think this page should still exist, and the blurbs do serve a purpose. However, removing the Junior Staff element will ensure it remains up to date a lot longer than it has been, so I'm fully in favor of that.

The updates to the Contact Page all seem sensible to me.

I think I'd miss the meet the staff page if it were archived/deleted, if it's out of date we should just update it (even if blurbs are missing for now, the important thing is to list people).
