TheSouthernWild (W: 58d, U: 9594045) recently posted an article. In the Discussion tab, they admitted to using generative AI to "fix" (rewrite) at least one section of the article. Zoobeeny, aftokrator, and I recommended a membership revocation, which nico implemented, and additionally witnessed the article for summary deletion, which I carried out. I also PMed the user about their membership revocation and article deletion, and I informed them that any further rule-breaking use of generative AI would result in a permanent ban.

**Item #:** SCP-8908
**Object Class:** Euclid
**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-8908 is to be stored within a 1 in x 1 in x 1 in titanium-reinforced lockbox located inside a secure vault in the Light Containment Zone at Site-██. The lockbox must be kept under constant temperature monitoring to ensure SCP-8908 remains above 10°C unless authorized testing is being conducted.
Personnel must obtain Level 3 authorization for any experimentation involving SCP-8908. At no time should SCP-8908 be exposed to temperatures of 10°C or below outside of controlled testing environments.
The wooden door associated with SCP-8908 has been removed from its original location and permanently installed within Testing Chamber-4B at Site-██. Access to the door is strictly prohibited without O5 approval.
**Description:** SCP-8908 is an unmarked white skeleton key composed of an unknown metallic alloy. Its surface temperature is highly sensitive to environmental conditions. When SCP-8908 is cooled to exactly 10°C, it becomes capable of unlocking a specific wooden door (hereafter referred to as SCP-8908-1) installed at Site-██.
Upon unlocking and opening SCP-8908-1 with SCP-8908, subjects gain access to an alternate dimension designated SCP-8908-A. SCP-8908-A manifests as a desolate, frozen forest caught in a perpetual blizzard. Visibility within SCP-8908-A is severely limited, with high winds and ice particles consistently reducing visual range to less than two meters.
Two notable features exist within SCP-8908-A:
Entry Door: The original door used to enter SCP-8908-A remains anchored behind the subject.
Exit Door: A second door, deeper within the forest, has been observed via preliminary remote drone footage. Its origin and exit point remain unknown.
No personnel who have attempted to reach the exit door have returned. Recorded video transmissions consistently terminate once subjects step off the initial trail and enter the denser forest. The cause of these signal losses remains undetermined. Audio logs recovered prior to signal termination record faint whispering and a sharp temperature drop beyond measurable instruments.
**Hazardous Environmental Effect:** Snowfall within SCP-8978-A poses a significant threat to exposed individuals. When the snow comes into contact with human skin or is inhaled, it triggers the rapid growth of ice-like formations within the respiratory system. This process causes severe internal damage, often resulting in death within minutes. No known countermeasures have proven effective against this effect.
**Addendum 8908-01: Exploration Log:**
------
Subject: D-1184
Procedure: D-1184 instructed to enter SCP-8908-A while equipped with thermal gear, a radio transmitter, and a body camera.
[BEGIN LOG]
00:00:
<Subject opens SCP-8908-1 and steps into SCP-8908-A. Heavy snowfall and low visibility are immediately apparent. Subject remarks on the intense cold despite thermal gear.>
00:15:
<The trail ahead is barely visible. D-1184 is instructed to proceed slowly.>
01:04:
<Camera captures glimpses of skeletal trees stretching into the darkness. The subject reports a sensation of being followed, though nothing is visible.>
02:22:
<Subject approaches the edge of the trail and steps into the forest.>
02:23:
<Severe static distortion begins. Radio contact is lost. The last visible footage shows several tall, indistinct figures emerging between the trees.>
02:24:
<Transmission ends. Subject presumed lost.>
[END LOG]

I used it to fix the Hazardous Environmental Effects because my original wording for it was ass.
Noting that upon rejoining the site, the user posted AI-generated material again:
Of note, they made some edits to the text, changing some phrases, removing the obvious AI-generated ending note, and capitalizing an MTF name. This is the first page creation revision:

**Item #:** SCP-8982
**Object Class:** Euclid/Keter
**Special Containment Procedures:** Each individual instance of SCP-8982 is to be held in a separate 3 m x 3 m x 3 m containment chamber constructed from high-tensile reinforced steel at Site-██. Chambers are to be equipped with continuous 24-hour full-spectrum surveillance systems, including infrared and low-light imaging capabilities. Surveillance feeds must be monitored in real time by on-site Level 3 security personnel trained in Class-4 hostile anomaly containment protocols.
Under no circumstances are personnel permitted to enter an SCP-8982 containment chamber without explicit approval from a Level 4 researcher and the full implementation of hostile anomaly safety protocols, including the presence of armed containment teams.
In the event of a containment breach, Protocol 8982 is to be enacted immediately: this includes area lockdown, rapid response deployment, and thermal tracking activation across affected sectors.
**Description:** SCP-8982 refers to a population of tall, emaciated humanoid entities measuring approximately 2.4 meters in height. Each specimen possesses exaggeratedly long limbs and a sunken torso (approx. 0.87 meters in length), contributing to its disjointed, erratic locomotion. Each thigh measures approximately 1.0 meter, and the entities’ elongated proportions enable them to move with sudden, unnaturally agile bursts.
Feet are wide, amphibian in appearance, and exhibit a keratinous spike extending from the posterior heel, believed to serve either a stabilizing or predatory function. SCP-8982’s head is fused to the upper neck in a singular anatomical structure with a forward-leaning angle of approximately 110 degrees.
Cranial features are partially obscured by a translucent dermal membrane. However, bioluminescent orbs beneath the skin—presumed to be eyes—emit visible light in low-illumination environments. Auditory perception is facilitated by lateral cranial slits, functioning in place of traditional ears.
SCP-8982 lacks teeth and consistently displays a wide, unnerving grin extending laterally across the full width of the face. This expression is present across all instances and does not vary, even during locomotion or moments of agitation. The purpose of this expression remains unknown.
A line of rigid, bony dorsal protrusions runs from the base of the neck to the lower spine. These growths are composed of a calcified, unidentified material that remains biologically active but has defied classification. Samples collected decompose within minutes, rendering long-term analysis difficult.
SCP-8982 is capable of short bursts of movement reaching 80 km/h, despite its starved appearance. Additionally, instances possess extreme endurance, easily outperforming human standards for pursuit or escape. SCP-8982 can scale vertical surfaces when adequately motivated.
Instances of SCP-8982 have demonstrated a limited understanding of the Russian language, often responding with simple words or phrases when spoken to in Russian by staff. Speech is low, gravelly, and seemingly painful for the entity to produce. Efforts to expand their linguistic capacity have failed. It remains unclear whether the knowledge of Russian is learned or instinctual.
No other languages have elicited a response to date. Attempts to elicit complex dialogue have resulted in entity agitation.
The initial containment of SCP-8982 occurred on 16 March 2005, following reports of disappearances and "tall grinning shadows" in the vicinity of an abandoned industrial warehouse in Kazan, Russia. Task Force epsilon-11 (“Nine Tailed Fox”) recovered ten live instances without casualties, although several responding agents reported having a nauseous sensation post-operation.
Since initial discovery, an additional thirty-seven specimens have been captured across Eastern Europe and western Siberia. The exact number of SCP-8982 instances worldwide is unknown. Mobile Task Force assets currently estimate an uncontained population exceeding several hundred, with exponential growth potential due to suspected parthenogenetic reproduction.
**Addendum 8982.1 – Reproduction Theory:**Post-incident biological residue recovered from a breached containment zone at Site-██ suggests SCP-8982 may reproduce via a rapid, non-sexual biological mechanism. Observed behavior during the breach included one instance convulsing for ~46 minutes before collapsing. Four hours later, a juvenile instance was discovered in the same chamber. The juvenile expired shortly after due to respiratory failure. Autopsy data was inconclusive, as internal structures bore no resemblance to any previously documented organisms.
**Addendum 8982.2 – Escalation of Object Class:** Following Incident 8982-Echo (██/██/20██), involving the coordinated breach of three adjacent containment chambers and resulting in [REDACTED] casualties, SCP-8982 was reclassified from Euclid to Euclid-Keter hybrid classification.
Containment review is ongoing. Proposals for permanent termination or environmental suppression protocols remain under review by the O5 Command.

I added the termination because of their large scale reproduction
User has a sandbox here: https://scp-sandbox-3.wikidot.com/the-russian-monsters-ll with all containment added in revision 1, and all description added in revision 6. Revisions 7 through 9 add paragraphs to the description, revision 10 adds the entirety of the addenda material.
Membership revoked. As this is the second infraction, a permanent ban has been enacted. PM sent; user may appeal if/when inclined.
Received the following replies:
Why the ban? I haven’t posted anything AI generated recently. My Ai related document has been deleted.
About an hour later:
Please may I have the ban lifted. I don’t want to lose this opportunity to be a member of this group, I want to be able to still contribute to this community. I apologize for all my mistakes please, just give me one more opportunity to make amends.
Sent back:
Is this the entirety of the ban appeal you would like to submit to staff for discussion? |
Received the following reply:
Yes, I would.
Disc team, please weigh in on the appeal.
Given that they have posted an AI-derived article recently, I vote to decline the appeal.
Voting to decline. Aside from a very vague apology without any actual mention of what they did, it's basically just a request to be unbanned because they don't want to be banned.
Noting that afto and myself supported declining the appeal.
User has been informed of the results; the next time they may submit an appeal is 6 May 2026.
