Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Because of its gargantuan size, SCP-XXXX cannot and will certainly never be contained. No known structure on Earth is large or strong enough to contain SCP-XXXX. The full length of SCP-XXXX has yet to be confirmed, along with its exact location. However, due to Satellite-████, and the countless global Foundation analyses that detected anomalies in certain Earth mass shifting suggest that SCP-XXXX is in the North Pacific Ocean. Surrounding the ███ side of North America.
If any of the ███████ archipelago is reported to be moving unnaturally, all satellite footage detecting so must be removed and terminated by embedded agents, with 05-█'s approval.
Description: SCP-XXXX is concluded to be a cephalopod of titanic size, known as the " Kraken " by centuries of marine lore and by generations of sailors. Presumably a myth by most of the Foundation, until SCP-XXXX was detected on ██/█/19██ by Mobile Task Force Gamma-00█0 during a transportation of ███ ammunition to the foundation, during said event, The Foundation noticed that all surveillance cameras set up on the ██████ archipelago (coordinates: ██.███° N, ███.████° W,) were mysteriously gone. After an exploration of said archipelago, it was quickly noticed that the entire archipelago shifted approximately two (2) kilometers from its original location. Shortly after, an enormous organic mass was detected under the archipelago. The Foundation was brought in immediately with 05-█ management. After a second investigation of the archipelago with the USS Op██████ it was concluded the entire ███████ archipelago were actually hard, rock like protrusions coming out of the creature below.
05-█ and Dr. ███ estimate that SCP-XXXX's body length is between 2000 to 4000 kilometers. The creature was thought to be alive since the Cenozoic Era, when very few other animals or any living creatures were around. Almost nothing is known about the behavior of SCP-XXXX, such as reproductive habits (if any), food source, and nesting ability (if any). Research of SCP-XXXX by higher-up members of The Foundation is approved. The ██████ archipelago has been inhabited for many years, with surprisingly none of the public noticing the creature. The archipelago has a pattern of submerging by five (5) meters, and then surfacing once again. Periodically, seismic tremors on the islands' indicate breathing of SCP-XXXX every two (2) months, causing the islands' ground to shift. Heavily implying that the massive cephalopod is most likely dormant.
Information Redaction: Even with The Foundation's best efforts, the ███████ archipelago is still inhabited by society and will most likely continue to do so. However, none of the public knows about this SCP. As stated in the " Special Containment Procedures " tab, all satellite detection/activity of SCP-XXXX must be terminated by 05-█ approval.
Addendum-XXXX-[01]: On █/█/199█, the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration detected a long train of narrow band upsweeping sounds throughout the entire Pacific Ocean. Despite The Foundation's attempts, the sound was leaked to the public and media. It is unknown where the precise location of the sound came from, but after extensive searching, The Foundation located it near the archipelago in the North Pacific Ocean, at SCP-XXXX's location. The sound continues to seasonally heard, and every year the sound gets more quiet then the last year. This suggests that SCP-XXXX shall be waking up soon, the date of this event is still unknown.
