Noting that yesterday, Eeveerian (account age 414 days, site membership about 90 days?) was issued a membership revoke due to unauthorized edits.
This behavior was first noticed on March 27, when they posted the following comment on: https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-8143 (post title "Incorrectly bold -1") The user also left the edit comment "Unboldened what shouldn't be boldened" on the page.
Please do not bold things that do not need to be bolded (i. e.: anything that is not a section headline) as that makes it hard to read your text without being distracted. (already fixed it for you)
A closed staff post was posted in response, and the user then PMed the staff member who made the staff post:
I want to apologise for the vandalism I did on SCP-8143 and wanted to say that I have done a similar correction a week ago and nobody corrected my mistake there, so I thought this didn't count as vandalism (also because I missread the site rules).
I'll re-read the site rules,
thanks for telling me my behavior was against them.
Yesterday they started removing nicknames from article titles; nico emergency revoked and Kufat sent the revoke PM. The following exchange then occurred:
Then why are other users allowed to change the titles of other's articles to just the SCP-number without asking them prior?
And how can I now re-gain my account? I do not want to lose it just because the site rules are too vague and everybody else giving me false advice on how those rules work.
Kufat noted that users are not permitted to change titles as described, and prior cases either were unnoticed if not addressed, or received warnings as the user did. Kufat confirmed that the user can rejoin the site in 24 hours, as noted in the initial revoke message. Kufat also asked the user to bring to staff attention any guidelines that indicate non-staff users have permission to make the edits involved in this case.
User has since re-applied and rejoined the site today.
