**Item #:** SCP-8947 “Endless Freezer”
**Object Class:** Euclid
------
**Special Containment Procedures:**
SCP-8947 is to be kept in the Light Containment Zone in a large glass cube with a simple glass decontamination airlock at the entrance, inside a standard containment cell with a constant connection to a natural gas supply using a flexible gas line. Access to SCP-8947 is restricted to personnel with Level 3 clearance or higher. When personnel must enter SCP-8947’s interior, no less than three personnel may enter at any time, and at least two personnel must remain directly outside and inside of SCP-8947’s passageway during the entire duration of each test. Any and all personnel entering SCP-8947 are required to be equipped with the appropriate cold weather gear, personal state of the art GPS tracking devices, mapping equipment, and sufficient food rations for extended periods of time.
------
**Description:**
SCP-8947, at first glance, appears to be a Servel S-600 gas-powered refrigerator made in 1947. Despite its age, the refrigerator runs perfectly but does show signs of wear, with only superficial rust and scratches on its exterior. The fridge weighs 124.74kg, consistent with standard models of its type.
The anomaly becomes apparent when you open the refrigerator door. While the exterior dimensions and appearance remain unchanged, the interior reveals what appears to be a vast, seemingly endless frozen and snow storm covered grocery store interior. Upon further inspection in recent tests it appears to be a combination of an endless maze of frozen solid grocery store isles mixed in with an also frozen solid, infinite stretching maze of warehouse shelves. The entire area is stocked with what appears to be all freezer burnt expired food products from the 1940s to 1950s including, but not limited to, canned goods, frozen meats, and packaged meals. The area is dimly lit by ominously light blue electric bulbs hanging high above from the tall ceiling, while an unknown source maintains a constant internal temperature of -27°C in the anomalous area.
Exploration of SCP-8947's interior has proven surprisingly challenging. All types of GPS devices instantly go completely haywire within the space, and attempts to map the warehouse have been gruelingly slow. Despite extensive searches in every direction away from 8947’s entrance, no alternative exits have been discovered. Personnel who have ventured too far from the entrance often report a sudden feeling of overheating, sweating, dizziness, an urge to undress to cool off immediately, and difficulty retracing their steps because of their constant symptoms and the mysterious gently falling “snow” that is always covering their tracks up behind them. Many of the first test subjects to enter have completed disappeared, their body’s yet to be located.
To date, no living entities have been encountered within SCP-8947. However, between the many roaring snowstorms, audio recording devices set up inside have captured faint, sounds resembling distant deep voices, slow rumbling metallic ominous noises, and heavy echoey moving footsteps. The source of these sounds currently remains unidentified.

**Addendum 8947-1:**
**Date:** ██/██/19██
SCP-8947 was discovered in the basement of what appears to be an abandoned farmhouse in ██████, Kansas, following reports of unusual noises from local residents, undercover foundation agents, posing as NSA agents, were sent to the area where they investigated and identified SCP-8947 as the source of the sounds, they then quickly transported SCP-8947 to Site-242. Located on ██ ██████ Street, Site-242 is used to contain many classes of SCPs such as Thaumiel, Euclid and Safe SCPs, this site was specifically designed to protect all forms of inter-dimensional entities/Objects from inter-dimensional rifts, the 550-foot-tall windowless skyscraper, built to withstand a nuclear blast, sits in the Tribeca neighborhood of Lower Manhattan, disguised as an NSA building. Any previous owners of the farmhouse could not be located, and no records of SCP-8947's acquisition or past human users have been found.

**Addendum 8947-2:** Exploration Log 8947-A
**Date:** ██/██/19██
**Team:** D-8947-1, D-8947-2, Lead Researcher ██████
**00:05:** Teams enter SCP-8947. Initial observations confirm the presence of the warehouse environment. Temperature readings match previous data.
**00:15:** Both teams proceed 500 meters into the warehouse staying together at first and then splitting up at the 1km mark, Lead Researcher ██████ stays with team D-8947-1. Shelving units appear to extend indefinitely in all directions. The only signs of structural support being steel beams connecting to the ceiling every few hundred feet, with no walls being observed.
**00:45:** Team D-8947-1 reports hearing faint mechanical sounds. Then a deep loud metal scraping sound. Lead Researcher ██████ confirms audio anomalies but cannot determine the source.
**01:20:** Both teams report reaching the 2 km mark. Lead Researcher ██████ gets a sudden feeling of nausea, sweating and overheating. The rest of the team soon report having the same symptoms and they decide to cut the expedition short.
**02:00:** Team D-8947-2 reports feeling disoriented and also having ill symptoms and insists the team is walking in circles despite trying to find their way back. Team D-8947-1 decides to return to the entrance without team D-8947-2.
**02:45:** Team D-89471 successfully exits SCP-8947 and they take all of their clothes off immediately, their skin bright red, showing signs of heatstroke and sweating profusely. They are all quickly rushed to the medical wing for treatment. And team D-8947-2 stops responding to radio calls. Their bodies yet to be recovered.

Research into SCP-8947's properties and origins is still an ongoing project.
Excerpts of note from concept thread:
Elevator pitch:
A physics defying, endless, sub-zero labyrinth of industrial warehouse shelving, inside a pocket dimension, with a 1940s fridge entrance.
Central Narrative:
Exploration teams brave subzero temperatures and disorienting conditions, only to succumb to a paradoxical overheating sensation that drives them to strip off their clothes and lose their way in the blizzard-covered maze. No living entities have been encountered inside—yet. But the faint, deep voices on audio recordings suggest that something else may be lurking in the frozen void. Is SCP-8947 a pocket dimension for food storage, a relic of experimental Cold War technology, or a manifestation of humanity’s deepest fears about scarcity and waste? One thing is certain: every step into its icy depths brings more questions than answers—and the chilling possibility that you might never find your way back. Welcome to the freezer that never ends.
