**Special Containment Procedures:** SCP-7854 must be contained in an empty closed container made out of stainless steel measuring 30 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm if it is not used for Research. SCP-7854 must always be kept near a pair of gloves. Under no circumstances should any wooden objects measuring from 5 cm x 5 cm to 3 m x 3 m be located within a radius of 50 m around SCP-7854. When researching SCP-7854, it is essential to be in a closed room with no exit.
**Description:** SCP-7854 is a rusty old chisel with a wooden handle by an unknown manufacturer. It's anomalies show up in direct contact with any human by causing an extreme desire to chisel wooden animal figures and then chiseling them with SCP-7854.
While being affected by SCP-7854 trough any contact, the affected person gains the knowledge of chiseling wooden animal figures and statues almost perfectly along with the desire to actually make them. If a wooden object is in visible range, the affected person gets in a form of trance and begins to chisel the wooden object to an animal figure.
Depending on what emotion the user felt before touching SCP-7854 the affected person chisels:
* a sheep for joy
* a lion for anger
* a fish for sadness
* an elephant for boredom
* a bear for lonliness
* an eagle for fear
* a rabbit for sorrow
* a whale for euphoria
After the affected person has chiseled every wooden object in near sight, the affected person lays SCP-7854 down and the anomaly ends. The affected person receives twice as much energy as before and suppresses any feeling of tiredness, hunger and thirst while being affected by the anomaly. If SCP-7854 is touched without any wooden object in visible range the anomaly does not occur until a wooden object is in range. The anomaly occurs on both unprocessed wood and processed wood of any type.
**Discovery:** On 03/02/2024, a forest in ██████, California drew attention to the Foundation, because the local people made a scene in the media were they reported that half the forest next to their town had been chopped down and all the tree stems and stumps had been chiseled into rabbit figures. When the Foundation arrived there to get more information, they investigated the local forests and found the part of the forest that had been felled down and chiseled. After they found an unconscious person hidden behind some bushes, and SCP-7854 next to it laying on the ground, the Foundation quickly took down all posts of the forest and spreaded the information that all this was a lame joke by a few teenagers. The person, identified as ████, Alan, was held at Site-23B and was brainwashed and released after an interview. SCP-7854 currently is located inside of Site-23B and used for research of its anomalies.

Date: 03/02/2024
Interviewer: Dr. ███████
Interviewee: Alan ████
Location: Site-23B, Interview Room 4
[Begin Log]
Dr. ███████: Good morning, Alan. I'm Dr. ███████. How are you feeling today?
Alan: A bit confused and tired. I don't remember much about how I got here. The last thing I recall is being in the forest near my home in ██████, California.
Dr. ███████: That's understandable. We found you unconscious in the forest, near several tree stumps that had been intricately chiseled into animal figures. Do you remember creating those carvings?
Alan: Animal figures? I... I have vague memories of carving something, but it's all a blur. I don't even know how to carve wood; I've never done it before.
Dr. ███████: Interesting. We also found this chisel near you. [Dr. ███████ places SCP-7854 on the table, careful and with gloves] Does it look familiar?
Alan: [Eyes widen] Yes, I think so. I remember picking it up in the forest. It felt... compelling, like I had to use it.
Dr. ███████: Can you describe what happened after you picked it up?
Alan: It's hazy, but I felt this overwhelming urge to find wood and start carving. I couldn't resist it. I felt... sorrowful. Yes, I was feeling deep sorrow that day.
Dr. ███████: Do you recall why you were feeling that way?
Alan: [Pauses] I had just lost my job. I went for a walk in the forest to clear my head. That's when I found the chisel.
Dr. ███████: I'm sorry to hear that. When you began carving, do you remember what you were making?
Alan: I... I think they were rabbits. Yes, I carved rabbits. It felt... necessary, like I had to do it.
Dr. ███████: Thank you, Alan. Your cooperation and calmness is appreciated. We'll continue our research. For now, please rest in the waiting room.
Alan: Alright

Closing Statement: Subject Alan ████ exhibited a compulsion to carve wooden animal figures after coming into contact with SCP-7854. Further study is required to understand the full range of SCP-7854's effects and to develop appropriate containment and handling protocols. Subject Alan ████ was brainwashed and released from Site-23B after this interview.

**Research Log 7854-01**
[[<]]
Date: 03/05/2024
Researcher: Dr. ███████
Subject: SCP-7854
Objective: To analyze the anomalous properties of SCP-7854 and understand its effects on human subjects experiencing various emotions.
Procedure:
D-class personnel exhibiting diverse emotional states are selected for the experiment. A closed room devoid of wooden objects is prepared, into which a single wooden block (20 cm x 20 cm x 20 cm) is introduced after initial observations. Subjects are instructed to handle SCP-7854 without gloves.
Observations:
Subject D-23B-23, experiencing anger, upon touching SCP-7854, exhibited a sudden interest in woodworking, expressing a desire to carve a lion figure. Despite no prior experience, D-1023 carved a lion with remarkable skill and reported increased energy and a lack of hunger or thirst post-carving.
Subject D-23B-45, experiencing sadness, expressed a desire to carve a fish upon initial contact. The subject produced a detailed fish sculpture and displayed improved mood and vitality after the activity.
Subject D-23B-67, in a state of joy, wished to carve a sheep when handling SCP-7854. The subject created an intricate sheep figure and exhibited heightened enthusiasm and energy post-carving.
Subject D-23B-89, experiencing fear, desired to carve an eagle upon contact. The subject crafted a precise eagle sculpture and showed increased confidence and alertness following the carving.
Subject D-23B-101, feeling boredom, upon contact with SCP-7854, expressed a desire to carve an elephant. The subject produced a detailed elephant sculpture and reported a sense of renewed interest and engagement post-carving.
Subject D-23B-123, experiencing loneliness, wished to carve a bear upon handling SCP-7854. The subject created an intricate bear figure and exhibited signs of comfort and companionship after the activity.
Subject D-23B-145, in a state of sorrow, desired to carve a rabbit upon contact. The subject crafted a precise rabbit sculpture and reported feelings of relief and emotional release post-carving.
Subject D-23B-167, experiencing euphoria, expressed a desire to carve a whale when handling SCP-7854. The subject produced a detailed whale figure and displayed heightened joy and satisfaction following the activity.
Conclusion:
SCP-7854 compels individuals to carve wooden animal figures corresponding to their pre-contact emotions, granting temporary enhanced energy, suppressing basic needs and feeling a positive emotion counterpart to each subjects pre-emotion. Further research is required to understand the long-term effects and potential applications of SCP-7854.
